     Fast440 is pleased to offer this very well preserved 1987 Chevrolet Silverado Shortbed Pickup. This Square Body example is in exceptional condition throughout. High Quality Paint and Body Work in the original factory color scheme, and decal striping replaced by painted on, and deep underneath the Clear-Coat. Deep and lustrous finish over exceptionally straight Body Panels. Very nice !!! Exterior Trim Items are a combination of well preserved original and replaced as needed. The Line-X Bedliner was professionally applied over a dent-free Bed Floor, sides and Wheel Wells. BF Goodrich Tires are recent and the Truck has a stock appearance other than the Tire upgrade. the only notable flaws are minor, and this includes a couple of scrapes on the Tailgate from use, and small pebble chips on the Factory Original Windshield. Other than that, a beautiful Truck to look at. The Interior appears to be Factory original although the Seat Cover may have been replaced at some point. No cracking or warping on the original Dash Pad, and the Headliner looks great. Some stains on the Passenger-Side Carpet, and due to a leaking Heater Core at some point in the Truck's life (long since repaired). This heavily optioned example includes Power Windows, Power Locks, Cruise Control, Tilt and more. Everything works with the exception of the Horn, and the Air-Conditioning blows cold.
Mechanically, this Truck is tight. The 5.7 Liter V-8 has strong Oil Pressure and sounds good. The Overdrive Automatic shifts firm, brakes well and the Suspension is tight. Cleary this Truck was extremely well maintained. Drive this Square Body anywhere right now. Best year for these Trucks, and this stock example is one of the better ones out there.

Supercharged, 6.2-liter V8? Check. Seven-speed manual? Check. Obsession with weight? Check.
What did you expect when Chevrolet said it was bringing a new Corvette variant to the 2014 New York Auto Show? Maybe a sticker and trim package, like the C6 Corvette Grand Sport or a tie-in deal like the Black Widow car from Chicago? On the opposite end, maybe there was an even more hardcore Z06 waiting in the wings. Who knew?

During January's Detroit Auto Show, we managed a longer than expected wandering tag-team interview with C7 Corvette chief engineering exec Tadge Juechter (pictured above), and LT1 engine boss Jordan Lee (pictured below). They are, quite honestly, two of the very nicest bigshot lads to ever walk the engineering corridors of an American manufacturer. Both are enthralled by what they're doing for a day job. So are we.
We've followed the pre-sale anticipation for the Chevrolet C7 Corvette Stingray like an Oreck vacuum yanking every speck of dirt from a well-trampled carpet. Everything is reportable and contains a grain of further knowledge about this dramatically important and cheered-for car, as it continues to be pressured into representing all that is superior about the American dream. The Corvette wears one heavy cloak.
So, most of what was talked about has been expertly reported already right here on Autoblog. But, looking through our notes again, both Jeuchter and Lee added facts to the buzzing mix.

The last car Steve McQueen ever drove in a movie is officially up for auction. The 1951 Chevrolet Styline DeLuxe Convertible you see above is now owned by none other than Rick Harrison of Pawn Stars fame, but once ferried McQueen around the set of his last film, 1980's The Hunter. That flick saw the Bullit star play a bumbling bounty hunter and didn't exactly set the box office on fire. McQueen bought the car after production wrapped, and four years later it sold at his estate sale at the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas.
Flash forward to 2003, and the convertible received a full restoration back to near-stock specifications. Hagerty Insurance estimates the car to be worth around $45,000 without the significant providence. Given its ties to one of film's most popular gearheads, the old Chevrolet could fetch up to 10 times that when it goes under the gavel in Ft Luaderdale, Florida on March 22.
