SOMEONE WILL GET A GREAT DEAL!!!!!

This 88 Chevy is like a new truck or even better. The list of new items seems almost endless. There is less than 1000 miles on the truck since completed. Here is what the truck has to offer:
  • New paint with painted stripes that run over the top and down the tailgate and roll pan.
  • Goodmark steel cowl induction hood.
  • New AC
  • 383 stroker
  • 400 Forged crank.
  •  6" h beam rods.
  • 30 over flat top forged pistons
  • Valve relief
  • 480 cam roller cam and rockers with cradles.
  •  Brodix 18 degrees High rise intake
  •  Jet hot headers.
  • 750 Holley carb.
  • 400 Transmission shift kit with adjustable mod valve.
  • 2500 Stall converter.
  • 373 Geared rear end.

  • Plus a lot more
The interior is all original and is in wonderful condition with NO cracks in the dash, seat is perfect and power windows and locks work as they should. This truck can be shown, driven and raced. It has over 500 HP yet can be driven daily should you desire to do so. You can have a HOT ROD that is drivable with cold AC and will run with the best on the weekends. I have a video of the truck at a test and tune and it beat a Dodge SRT10 by half the track length. WOW!!!! What fun!!! Truck hooks up nice but has not been abused in anyway. It is still new with less than 1000 miles since the build.
You would be hard pressed to find an older truck such as this that is this nice without a total restoration.
I can't say enough about what a FUN ride this is and drivable!!!!

My wife wants a new car so the truck has to go. My loss is your gain..... really!!!!!
This is a BUY IT NOW or best offer auction, so no need to wait and miss out.
You are welcome to see the truck in person or have someone look for you PRIOR to bidding as your opinion could vary, but there will be no joy rides please.
The truck is being sold "AS IS" and is a high performance vehicle that we are not responsible for any misuse of such vehicle.

Artist imagines eerie world where cars have no wheels

Thu, 24 Jan 2013

The wheel ranks right up there with the telescope and four-slice toaster in the pantheon of inventions that have moved humankind forward. But what if a circle in three dimensions had never occurred to anyone, and we all had just moved on without it? Perhaps we'd be driving around in Lucas Motors Landspeeders with anti-gravity engines. Or maybe we'd have the same cars we do today, just without wheels.
That's the thought experiment that seems to have led French photographer Renaud Marion to create his six-image series called Air Drive. The shots depict cars throughout many eras of motoring that look normal except for one thing: they have no wheels. The models used include a Jaguar XK120, Cadillac DeVille (shown above), Chevrolet El Camino and Camaro, and Mercedes-Benz SL and 300 roadsters.
Perhaps one day when our future becomes our past, you'll be able to walk the street and see with your own eyes the rust and patina of age on our nation's fleet of floating cars. Until then, Monsieur Marion's photographs will have to do.

Diesel Power finds the ultimate modified oil-burner

Sat, 24 Aug 2013

For nine years, Diesel Power magazine has run the Diesel Power Challenge, this year's grindfest being "a week-long torture test that features seven events, nine trucks, 8,000 horsepower, and nearly 15,000 pound-feet of torque." The road to being crowned "the most powerful truck" starts with a dyno run, and then continues through the completion of a CDL-style obstacle course, an eighth-of-a-mile drag race while towing a 10,000-pound trailer, a quarter-mile drag race without a trailer, a fuel economy test in the mountains and finally a sled-pulling test through a 300-foot-long packed-mud pit.
What kind of trucks get into such a fight? Last year's winner, for instance - who upgraded his truck this year to prove he didn't "luck into the win" - drives a 2008 Ford F-250 Super Duty with a 6.4-liter Power Stroke V8 upgraded with a custom intake, Elite Diesel triple turbos and a two-stage nitrous system. Another competitor has a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 powered by a 5.9-liter Cummins inline-six, upgraded with Garrett turbos, dual-stage nitrous, a seven-inch exhaust stack and twin fans built into the bed to cool the Sun Coast Omega transmission. The numbers on that truck: 1,255 horsepower, and 2,063 pound-feet of torque at the wheels. Naturally, as the image above might suggest, things don't always end well.
You'll find all five videos covering this years challenge below. A scene in the dyno video sums it all up perfectly: a competitor leaves his nitrous on too long and the crew is treated to some ominous poppings, he leans out the window, throws both hands up and shouts, "Amer'ca!"

Chevrolet SS previewed by Holden VF Commodore SS V show car

Thu, 14 Feb 2013

It won't be long before we see the official, production-ready Chevrolet SS sedan (hint: it will be revealed this weekend). And to tide us over until all of the official details are released about the US-spec version, we have this: the Holden VF Commodore SS V show car, a performance-oriented brother to the Calais V that debuted earlier in the week.
What we really want to know about the SS V is what lies underhood, but General Motors' Australian arm is keeping that under wraps until the Chevy model breaks cover this weekend. Nevertheless, it's obvious that the SS V will be a serious performer, with all sorts of aggressive cues driving that home on the car's exterior. Take a look at those 20-inch billet aluminum wheels that hide big Brembo brake calipers up front, the sculpted hood and front fascia, the wide air intakes with LED running lights and the quad exhaust pipes out back. It's like the Pontiac G8 GXP never even left us.
Inside, there's a sporty-looking interior with aluminum accents that mix in with black leather and suede surfaces, all tied together in the middle with an eight-inch MyLink touchscreen infotainment system. It looks great, and again, while we don't know anything regarding powertrain details, it makes us oh-so happy to see a manual shifter smack dab in the middle of the center console.
