Hello and Welcome Today we have a 1988 Chevrolet C1500 up for bid with no reserve. I have owned this truck since 1994 and it's been great until (what I was told)the bottom end of the motor went recently. It does not run. It may be something minor but I'm not a motor or car guy so I can't tell you what is involved. I welcome anyone to come and see the truck and look it over in person. I was told by a mechanic that other engines will mate right up to this transmission if you want to switch to a 350 or 305 V8. I want to be transparent with everything and want you to be happy that you're getting a great deal.
NO RESERVE....The tires alone are worth the $700 starting price. It has 107,496 original miles (Since 2003 I've put less than 15,000 miles on the truck) A trailer hitch that was used exactly one time to pull a 14 foot boat. It has the usual scratches and dings and rust on the cab corners and some on the wheel wells. Underneath the only rust is on the surface as everything is solid. Chromed Grill and Tail light Guards. Custom Tail Lights. A performance chip (not installed but comes with it). A new headliner. A sunroof. I believe it was a dealer option in 88 and 89 but I'm not sure. It looks great and has never leaked ever.... Gray Rhino Liner in the Bed Two Saddle mount Tool Boxes Air Raid air intake 31x11.50 R15 Dakota Futura RVT Tires with less than 7 K miles on them. Pillar mount gauges (temp, oil pressure etc.) Shelf-It Storage unit West Coast Kustoms Side Mirrors Performance Accessories 3 inch Body lift professionally installed. Hot Wheels Camaro to make big debut at Indy
Fri, 05 Apr 2013Chevrolet handed over the keys to 33 Hot Wheels Camaro Convertible Indianapolis 500 festival cars this week. Race directors get the luxury of driving the droptops around Indianapolis in an ongoing tradition with roots all the way back to the 1960s. The stunt is supposed to remind area residents that the Indy 500 is right around the corner. The cars are our first look at the special Camaro Hot Wheels Edition in convertible form, and they are slated to head to dealers after a one-time production run. The cars also represent the first time in history full-size Hot Wheels have been offered for sale by an automaker.
The cars will be available in both the previously seen coupe bodystyle and this convertible configuration, and will feature metallic blue paint and special wheels with the iconic redline accent. Buyers will be able to choose between the V6-powered 2LT trim and the V8-powered 2SS guise.
Hot Wheels says the original Custom Camaro toy was one of the original 16 1:64-scale diecasts, and it remains one of the company's most valuable collector items today.

800k car names trademarked globally, suddenly alphanumerics seem reasonable
Tue, 01 Oct 2013What's in a name? This cliched phrase probably gets tossed out at every marketing meeting that happens when a new car gets its nomenclature. We know the answer, though: everything. The name of a car has all the potential to make or break it with fickle customers that are more conscious than ever about what their purchases say about them.
That's giving headaches to marketing folks across the automotive industry. "It's tough. In 1985 there were about 75,000 names trademarked in the automotive space. Today there are 800,000," Chevrolet's head of marketing, Russ Clark, told Automotive News. Infiniti's president, Johan de Nysschen, echoed Clark's sentiment, saying, "The truth of the matter is, across the world, there is hardly a name or a letter that hasn't already been claimed by one car manufacturer or another. You can go through the alphabet - A, B, C and so forth - and you will quickly see that almost all available letters are taken."
What has that left automakers to do? Get creative. In the case of Infiniti, it made the controversial move to bring all of its cars' names into a new scheme, classifying them as Q#0 for cars and QX#0 for SUVs and crossovers. So the Infiniti G, which was available as the G25 and G37, is now the Q50. The FX37 and FX50 are now the QX70.
