PLEASE DO NOT BID ON MY TRUCK UNLESS YOU ARE A SERIOUS BUYER. If you have questions, call or e-mail me. Anyone is more than welcome to come inspect in person or request additional photos. I will describe the truck as honestly as possible. Winning bidder must pay deposit of $500.00 within 48 hours of auction end or truck will be re-listed. I purchased this truck a couple months ago, but ended up buying a 69 Camaro last weekend, so this one has to go to fund the new project.
1993 Chevy Silverado 1500 Indianapolis 500 "Official Pace Truck" Pretty rare truck.. Only 1,534 produced. 189,xxx miles.
Engine / Trans: Original 350 motor and Jasper remanufactured 4l60E Auto / Overdrive transmission. Engine is original and I do not believe its been rebuilt. It does not smoke, but does leak a little oil. Engine needs a tune up, has a slight miss at idle and sometimes stalls out when you come to a stop. I have not tried to figure out what the problem is.
Body: Body is solid, paint is original, (20 years old) Honestly, the paint looks better in the pictures than it does in person. The truck would look much better buffed out, but due to the amount of scratches and dents it would probably make more sense to re-paint the truck. There is no rust on the truck besides the pictures I took which reflect surface rust only. Freedom Tonneau cover in great shape. Truck has clean car fax history with no accidents.
Suspension: Brakes work perfect, steering and front end is tight, and truck does not pull left or right. Truck is all original, interior is in good shape with very comfortable 60/40 bench seat.
It does need some TLC. There are dents and scratches, a crack in the windshield, leaky power steering hose. Also needs a tune up, has a slight miss at idle and sometimes stalls out when you come to a stop. Tailgate has a pretty bad dent on it. (see pictures) There is also a dent on the back side of the cab next to the window, and on the front fender.
A/C / Heat work great. I just installed a new compressor, condenser, new AC lines, dryer, and charged the systems with 134a.
Everything works on the truck, gauges, radio, power windows, blinkers, lights, wipers, etc...
Call me if your interested in seeing the truck or have any questions. Joe (352) 425-0998

When you are not the one in charge of the purse strings, creativity is a must when trying to get the string-holder to bankroll that next shiny object you just can't live without.

When I was a kid, I decided that life wasn't worth living if it weren't in pursuit of owning a GMC Typhoon. My 12-year-old self crafted a fiscal strategy that, when combined with my offer of a 49-percent share of ownership in the car in return for my parents' contribution of 80-percent of the purchase price, would see me behind the wheel of a Typhoon by the time I hit college. They walked away from the negotiating table and, the economic climate of the 8th grade being what it was at the time, another partner wasn't found before the Typhoon was discontinued.
Roy El-Rayes, however, has succeeded where 12-year-old me failed, and he did it by using the sort of professionalism that only a PowerPoint presentation can provide, along with some humor and bold-faced flattery.
The days of changing your engine oil every 3,000 miles are long gone thanks to most cars having automatic oil monitoring systems, but about 800,000 General Motors vehicles apparently have incorrect monitoring software that is leading to premature engine component wear. According to Autoweek, certain 2010-2012 Buick LaCrosse, Regal, Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain models equipped with 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines could be going too long in between oil changes resulting in a higher-than-normal number of warranty claims for the engine's balance chain. The balance chain links the balance shaft to the crankshaft, and a worn one can produce higher noise levels.

As a fix, GM dealers will be reprogramming the software for the monitors in an effort to reduce the interval between oil changes, which varies based on driving habits and conditions. Through February 2015, the software update will be done at no cost to vehicle owners, but since this is not a recall, after that point, it will be up to the discretion of dealers as to whether or not they will charge for the service. What isn't immediately clear is whether GM plans on giving assistance to out-of-warranty customers who are experiencing engine issues from the worn chain.
Not including the women and men who built it, the 2014 Chevrolet SS has only been seen in person by a piddling number of people - fewer humans than would fill the gymnasium at a high school volleyball game. Not including the men and women who built it, no one has driven it. Even so, it is already saddled with two controversies: the way it looks and the way it shifts.
First to that shifting. Did we love the last Americanized Holden, the awesomely sportsome Pontiac G8 GXP, and its six-speed manual? Of course. Do we wish the SS came with a six-speed manual? Of course. But we'd like a toboggan to come with a manual transmission. We'd put a manual transmission on a weasel if we could because we're just wired that way; if it moves, it should come with a stick and a clutch. Or at least the option.
Let's climb down off the ledge, though. We haven't driven the SS and we have no idea how good (or not) the automatic is. And the Hobson's Choice in transmissions when it comes to sport sedans like the BMW M5, Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG and Jaguar XFR-S and, oh yeah, cars-that-really-should-have-manuals like the Audi R8 and Nissan GT-R and Porsche 918 and every single Lamborghini and Ferrari, for instance, hasn't stopped us from enjoying what is clearly the gruesome, dual-clutched demise of Western automotive civilization. Because in spite of our ululations at the dying of the six-speed light, we understand.
