PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, read everything before bidding or emailing questions.  Chances are good that your question in answered somewhere in the following text...

No reserve auction for 1990 Chevy 1/2 Ton 8-foot bed 2-wheel drive pick up truck.  Starts right up without hesitation and runs smooth.  Starts, stops, and shifts through all gears as it should.  Biggest issue is a SIGNIFICANT oil leak at the rear of the pan.  Assume it will need a new pan gasket.  I do not know if oil has gotten on the clutch -- for the sake of this description, you should assume there is oil on the clutch.

Truck was purchased new by my father in 1990.  He is the only owner and there is a clear Pennsylvania title in his name.  Generally a bare-bones truck;  has a V-6 and 4-speed with overdrive.  No knocks, funny noises or smoke.  Only vehicle options are cruise, AM/FM and air conditioning.  AC does not blow cold.  Truck has a brand new battery.  It will start right up and start, stop, and shift as it should.  Brakes are good; tires are average and will pass Pennsylvania inspection.

Interior is remarkably good considering the exterior.  Cloth bench seats without any rips or damage.  Rubber factor mats do not have any damage.

There is a star break in the center of the windshield, as shown in one of the included photos.  Break has not gotten any larger in over five years.

Paint is poor with surface rust as shown, especially on the roof and at the cab corners.  Dents in both rear quarter panels; minor dents in lower portion of the doors; no other body damage.  Tail gate, grille, and bumpers are all excellent and without damage.  Truck has never been in any collisions that required replacement of any body panels.

Excellent condition tool box and bed liner included with auction.

Truck should not be driven far until oil leak is repaired.

My very reasonable terms of sale:

$200 deposit due within 48-hours from the end of the auction.  REALLY!! That means you need to be able to transfer $200 into my Paypal account within 2 days from the end of the auction.  If I don't get the $200 deposit, I'll presume you are not serious about the purchase, and I will relist the truck.  Fair??  Balance due in cash at the time the vehicle is picked up.  I would like the truck gone by July 31 -- I am not available 8/1 to assist with the transfer.  Buyer responsible for all fees associated with transfer of truck to the new owner.  If you are a Pennsylvania resident, please ensure you are prepared to transfer the vehicle to your name on the day of purchase. Unless you know someone personally, there are very few title and tag stores open on Sunday in Pennsylvania.

Please email with any questions.  I have ABSOLUTE NO INTEREST IN ANY TRADES related to the transfer of the truck.  I'm not looking for any other cars, trucks, motorcycles, ATVs, guns, or drugs.  Truck needs to be paid for in CASH.  ABSOLUTELY no personal checks.  If you are interested in buying this vehicle, please ensure you HAVE ALL THE MONEY AVAILABLE before you bid or use buy-it-now.  I'm exceedingly easy to deal with, but one thing that really gets me pissed off is hearing eleventh-hour excuses that revolve around, "I'll have the rest of the money on the second Tuesday of next week after I get paid or win the lottery or get my settlement or sell my other car....etc".   You either have the money or you don't.  PERIOD!!  If necessary, ask your wife, husband, mother or father BEFORE YOU BID.  Also ensure you have a plan for getting the vehicle home.  Whereas I will state the truck will start, stop and drive reasonably short distances, be aware of the SIGNIFICANT oil leak I have noted.  I would not personally drive this truck far until the leak is fixed.

Sold as-is where-is.  No warranty expressed or implied.  Contact me in advance of the end of the auction and you may view and inspect the vehicle.  As the insurance has expired, there will be no test drives.

Truck is located in Easton, Pennsylvania 18045.  It is approximately 3 miles from the intersection of  Routes 78 and 33.  If you do not know exactly where this is, Google it!!

Please email with questions and thanks for reading everything.  No reserve auction; high bid wins!

Final C6 Corvette built in Bowling Green

Fri, 01 Mar 2013

With all of the attention given to the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray lately, you could be forgiven for thinking that it's already well along in production, yet tooling up for the new C7 has only just begun. In fact, production of the outgoing C6 generation in Bowling Green, Kentucky just halted on Thursday.
As the C6 has aged, production numbers have predictably ebbed along with demand, but this year, the addition of the 427 and 60th anniversary models resulted in an uptick in vehicles built - this, despite a model year shortened by around 25 percent to accomodate the new model changeover. The final C6 Corvette ever, No. 13,466 built this year, was a white 427 Convertible destined for the General Motors Heritage Center museum. The car's 7.0-liter V8 heart was assembled by Corvette chief engineer Tadge Juechter himself.
In total, Bowling Green pushed out 215,100 C6 Corvettes over nine years. If you're still a C6 fan at heart and are hoping to get a good deal on a phase-out model, step lively - Chevrolet reportedly had about 6,100 unsold units, which Autoweek suggests is good for around five and a half months of supply at the model's current sales rates. Given that demand will likely slacken even further as the C7 draws closer, that should be a big enough stockpile to keep dealers satisfied until 2014 Stingrays begin showing up on their forecourts in December.

2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray convertible headed for Geneva debut

Mon, 28 Jan 2013

While most of the world is still coming down from all the hype surrounding the debut of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this month, we're already looking to the future. And according to Autoweek, the next chapter in the C7 story will unfold at the Geneva Motor Show in March. That's right, General Motors is reportedly using the Swiss stage as its venue to debut the Corvette Stingray convertible.
If this strikes you as odd, you aren't alone. After all, with a car that's such an American icon, we'd fully expect Chevrolet to unveil it here on our shores in either Chicago or New York. But according to Autoweek, GM is looking to boost export sales of its halo car, and since the C7 was engineered to compete with the world's best and brightest, showing it off in Geneva is somewhat of a smart move. What's more, those with sharp memories will recall that GM used the Geneva expo to debut the sixth-generation C6 Corvette convertible back in March 2004, so there's also a precedent.
Details surrounding the Corvette Stingray convertible are still slim, though we fully expect the 6.2-liter V8 and choice of either six-speed automatic or seven-speed manual transmissions to carry over unchanged. Prototypes spotted on the road showed the car fitted with a cloth convertible roof, as well.

GM investing $167m in Spring Hill for new midsize vehicles

Tue, 06 Aug 2013

General Motors has announced a large investment in its Spring Hill, Tennessee facility. The former home of Saturn production will be getting a $167 million addition to a previously announced $183 million, to cover a pair of new midsize vehicles. The investment is expected to create 1,800 jobs at the factory.
That $350 million is being divvied up for a pair of programs at Spring Hill. The first will take the bulk of the money ($223 million) and create 1,000 of the 1,800 jobs, while the other will take the remaining $127 million and generate the leftover 800 positions. But GM says the investment will cover "midsize vehicle programs." So what could they be?
The leading candidate in our minds is a new crossover for Buick, called the Anthem, that will slot between the Encore and Enclave, but will be slightly smaller than the Equinox and Terrain. As we've explained, the new model will likely be the first product to sport GM's new D2UX platform, which will eventually replace both the Delta and Theta platforms. Spring Hill is already building the Equinox, so there could be some credence to this theory.
