1985 Chevrolet K10 4x4 it
- 350c.i. Motor rebuilt 2007 (Less than 5k miles on it since rebuilt)
- Edelbrock Intake added 2007
- new alternator 2008
- new electronic distributor 2008
- new exhaust 2008
- Transmission rebuilt 2010 by AAMCO in Roanoke,VA (I have the paperwork)
- new 32x11.50x15 ProComp Mud Terrains 2011 (less than 3000 miles on them), tires filled with Nitrogen
- new dash cover installed 2009
-new starter April 2013

Here is what I had plans to fix:
- truck has very minor surface rust on the top of the cab.
- has typical scratches for a truck of this age
- needs to be painted to complete the restoration
- I was going to either dye or replace the interior door panels
- rear bumper needs to be straightened or replaced
- passengers side rear bed and door have dents from where a tree jumped out in front of me in the snow! (haha)

I would drive this truck anywhere, but I drive my work van every day so this truck rarely ever gets driven except for an occasional trip to get mulch, hardware store or take the trash to the dump, so I have decided to sell it.

Note the truck does have factory AC but it is inoperative due to a hose that was cut while the motor was being rebuilt. Replace the hose, add a belt to the compressor, charge the system and it should cool properly.

Email if you have any questions or you would like to see more pictures.

Watch how Corvette Racing's new collision-avoidance radar system works

Fri, 22 Mar 2013

When it comes to technology used in racecars, we generally expect it to trickle down to production cars, not the other way around. Well, Pratt & Miller has developed a new rear-facing radar that operates in a similar fashion to what we're used to in modern blind spot detection systems, only it is also capable of tracking cars as they approach and relaying vital information to the driver via a large display screen.
The innovative radar system debuted at last weekend's 12 Hours of Sebring for Corvette Racing, and this system makes perfect sense for endurance races like this since the cars sometimes have to drive through the night and in poor weather conditions.
The radar can detect cars even with poor visibility, and uses easy-to-distinguish symbols for the driver to identify.

Hot Wheels' Twitter-enabled vending machine coughs up free Camaro diecasts

Wed, 27 Feb 2013

There are still plenty of companies that haven't gotten the whole social media thing down pat yet, but Hot Wheels isn't one of them. During the recent Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto, Hot Wheels created a lot of buzz for itself by using a vending machine filled with Chevrolet Camaro models, but instead of money to get the cars, show attendees just had to use Twitter.
To get the free car, people were asked to send a tweet to Hot Wheels Canada saying what they liked about the new Hot Wheels Edition Camaro, and including the #ChevyCIAS hashtag. This seemed to be a popular marketing tool, too, as AdWeek reports that the @HotWheelsCanada account more than tripled in followers during the course of the 10-day show. Looking ahead, this could open up even more innovative marketing possibilities using social media.
Check out the video posted below to watch how it works, and while the auto show has ended and the free-car giveaway has too, we're almost certain that some of the 1,500 freebies will make their way onto eBay.

Expect greater differentiation in GM's next-generation SUVs

Thu, 03 Jan 2013

General Motors says its next-generation Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Yukon and Cadillac Escalade models will offer shoppers improved interior differentiation. Car and Driver recently caught up with Chris Hilts, GM's creative manager of interior design, who said that the cabins will all feature unique instrument panels, consoles, center stacks and switchgear moving forward. Apparently GM is now aware that consumers may be bothered by the fact that today's $85,000 Escalade has effectively the same cabin as a $45,000 Tahoe. Hilts says SUV buyers want more refinement than their pickup purchasing counterparts - and those same buyers also want their SUVs to have more exterior differentiation between the company's Silverado and Sierra pickup lines. Shocking.
That all sounds good to us, but we've heard this song and dance before. GM made big waves about how different the new-for-2013 Silverado and Sierra would look from each other, but judging by what we've seen so far, GM's stylists are painting in shades rather than with the full spectrum.
