I'm the Second and fourth owner of this truck. This is probably the straightest truck of this year you'll find. I would consider this truck 95% restored. Still needs a couple of things to be perfect. Its got brand new paint this past March, inside the bed is prepped for spray in bedliner, primered with POR paint/primer. All new interior including carpet, a/c vents, speakers, dash pad (not a cover), headliner and trim, window motors, door lock motors and switches, door sill plates, and seat belts. New window felts and rubber. Wheels are aluminum American Racing outlaw 2's (bullet holes) powdercoated black, 15 x 10's.

Tires are new 33 x12.50's . 4" lift kit. 35's will fit, if you wanted to go bigger.   New Rancho shocks, new brakes front and rear. New A/C pump and dryer, Cold Air. New master cylinder, blower fan motor, washer pump motor, battery, dual exhaust, inner fender wells, and windshield. Warn winch front bumper (powdercoated). Mossy oak graphics (shadow grass). Truck has been only driven 8k miles since 1998 !!! Got paperwork to prove it. !! It got restored the first time in 1997 with new GM doors and fenders. Then again in March of this year.  All of this work was done in Feburary and March of this year.  Brand new restoration.  NO aftermarket sheet metal (except for the inner fender wells). Will consider trades for 60's,70's muscle cars, 55 or 56 chevrolet, 61 or 63 Impala, Camaro's, nova's, chevelle's.  Let me know what you got, All I can say is no.  Trade up, down or sideways.   If anyone has questions or needs more pics contact me at 6 zero 6-two 6 nine-one one 3 two.  Thanks

GM 6.2L V8 claims most powerful light-duty truck engine title

Thu, 12 Sep 2013

General Motors has officially captured the horsepower crown for mainstream pickup trucks with its 6.2-liter V8. The big mill, available in both the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, comes to market with 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, handily outdoing its two cross-town competitors, Ram (5.7-liter V8, 395 ponies and 407 lb-ft) and Ford (6.2-liter V8, 411 hp and 434 lb-ft).
The new GM 6.2 will take a bit of an investment, though. Those that want the extra thrust will need to go with either the LTZ or High Country trims from the Chevy, or the SLT and Denali trims from GMC, which are the two highest trim levels for the respective vehicles. Trim levels aside, if you're in the business of towing, GM has you covered. Optioned with the 6.2-liter V8 and the Max Trailering Package, owners will be able to pull 12,000 pounds, a hugely impressive figure.
We still aren't certain as to what sort of economy the new engine will get, but it'll probably be a bad bet for the fuel conscious. As for availability, expect to see the 6.2-liter trucks in showrooms later in the fall.

Watch this creative way to pull a truck's engine

Fri, 08 Mar 2013

Living in an apartment complex has its benefits, but for shade-tree mechanics who like/need to work on their own cars, it definitely has a number of disadvantages. Relatively simple tasks such as brake jobs and oil changes are difficult when you don't have dedicated driveway space, to say nothing of more in-depth repairs... like pulling an engine, for example.
For these types of challenges, a little ingenuity and plenty of muscle are needed to get the job done. Scroll down to watch these four men snatch the V8 out of a Chevrolet K1500 using nothing but a chain, landscape timber and good ol' fashioned brute strength. Good work, gentlemen.

Survey says $25k barrier is a problem for EVs

Sun, 01 Dec 2013

The majority of consumers are more or less priced out of the market.
Electric cars are gaining popularity with the general public, but are they still too expensive? According to a survey 1,084 consumers by Navigant Research, a consulting firm located in Boulder, CO, 71 percent want their next car to cost under $25,000, while 41 percent won't go a cent above $20K. Looks like people are even thriftier than we'd originally thought.
