For sale is my completely original,numbers matching 1971 Chevrolet K20 3/4ton 4x4 . The truck has approx. 63,000miles which are believed to be original but not verified. Based on the conditionof the truck, it would appear to be true. Factory equipped with 350, 4 spd,NP205 Transfer case, Eaton HO72 rear axle, and Dana 44 w/disc brakes. Theignition system was upgraded to HEI for better performance and from the original owner who was a farmer in Oregon where it spent most ofits life hauling hay. Because of the extremely dry climate in Oregon, the truckis rust free with only a very small spot on the driver's side rocker panel.Being a 45 year old truck, there are a few small dings here and there, but nobody filler anywhere nor cheap replacement panels...it's all GM. There wasone re-paint in the original factory Ochre color years ago and the bed has beenLine-X. Here is a list of NOS and new parts recently installed: 1. FactorySaddle Steering Wheel2. Chevy Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo concept blends the past and the future
Wed, 19 Nov 2014The Chevrolet Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo is the rare concept car that salutes a seminal moment in history, yet also borders on science fiction.
Revealed Wednesday at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the concept uses the name of one of Chevy's historic racing partnerships, with Chaparral Racing, which dates to the 1960s. Chaparrals raced successfully at a range of levels, including IndyCar, Trans-Am and SCCA competition.
But the history ends there, as the concept's main purpose is as a racecar in a downloadable update for the PlayStation 3 game Gran Turismo 6.
GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable
Fri, 21 Sep 2012General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.
Hot Wheels' Twitter-enabled vending machine coughs up free Camaro diecasts
Wed, 27 Feb 2013There are still plenty of companies that haven't gotten the whole social media thing down pat yet, but Hot Wheels isn't one of them. During the recent Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto, Hot Wheels created a lot of buzz for itself by using a vending machine filled with Chevrolet Camaro models, but instead of money to get the cars, show attendees just had to use Twitter.
To get the free car, people were asked to send a tweet to Hot Wheels Canada saying what they liked about the new Hot Wheels Edition Camaro, and including the #ChevyCIAS hashtag. This seemed to be a popular marketing tool, too, as AdWeek reports that the @HotWheelsCanada account more than tripled in followers during the course of the 10-day show. Looking ahead, this could open up even more innovative marketing possibilities using social media.
