1971 Chevrolet Custom 10 Deluxe 350-4 Automatic W/ Air!! on 2040-cars
Bradenton, Florida, United States
Hello!! This auction is for an excellent 1971 Chevrolet Pickup. This is one of the nicest pickups we've had in a long time. It rides beautifully. It is in very good original condition...even the heat riser is still attached to the manifold! Acceleration is right there. Runs strong as is, but from sitting could probably use a tune-up. Stops straight and steers firmly. This truck has air conditioning that is complete and working. Does not blow super cold, but does work. The pictures make the paint look better than actual and the rust look worse than actual. Spot lights work, but the handles have deteriorated. Has late model wheels and lots of tread on the tires! The truck bed is in very good condition with virtually no dents in the bottom. There is an auxiliary gas tank on the driver's side. Rust on the truck is confined to the passenger side rocker area. Floors, firewall and all other sheet metal is clear. Previous owner just put some new parts on it...starter, alternator, carrier bearing, exhaust!! Here is your chance to own a clean, comfortable driver quality truck. Better than driver quality actually! Looks to have originally lived in Oklahoma and came to us from Fontana CA. Thanks for viewing and email with any questions!! It's that good!! |

GM investing $167m in Spring Hill for new midsize vehicles
Tue, 06 Aug 2013General Motors has announced a large investment in its Spring Hill, Tennessee facility. The former home of Saturn production will be getting a $167 million addition to a previously announced $183 million, to cover a pair of new midsize vehicles. The investment is expected to create 1,800 jobs at the factory.
That $350 million is being divvied up for a pair of programs at Spring Hill. The first will take the bulk of the money ($223 million) and create 1,000 of the 1,800 jobs, while the other will take the remaining $127 million and generate the leftover 800 positions. But GM says the investment will cover "midsize vehicle programs." So what could they be?
The leading candidate in our minds is a new crossover for Buick, called the Anthem, that will slot between the Encore and Enclave, but will be slightly smaller than the Equinox and Terrain. As we've explained, the new model will likely be the first product to sport GM's new D2UX platform, which will eventually replace both the Delta and Theta platforms. Spring Hill is already building the Equinox, so there could be some credence to this theory.
Watch this creative way to pull a truck's engine
Fri, 08 Mar 2013Living in an apartment complex has its benefits, but for shade-tree mechanics who like/need to work on their own cars, it definitely has a number of disadvantages. Relatively simple tasks such as brake jobs and oil changes are difficult when you don't have dedicated driveway space, to say nothing of more in-depth repairs... like pulling an engine, for example.
For these types of challenges, a little ingenuity and plenty of muscle are needed to get the job done. Scroll down to watch these four men snatch the V8 out of a Chevrolet K1500 using nothing but a chain, landscape timber and good ol' fashioned brute strength. Good work, gentlemen.
Watch this time-lapse build of the Chevy SS for NASCAR
Fri, 08 Feb 2013There's only about a week left until we get our first look at the production version of the 2014 Chevrolet SS sedan, but Chevrolet NASCAR teams have been looking at the race version of the car all winter. Autoweek has posted a really neat time-lapse video showing just a portion of what it takes to build one of NASCAR's new Gen6 stock cars.
Though the video is quite brief, it does show almost the entire build process starting with just the car's nose, and it gives us a good look at how integral the template is to the final product. As a bonus, Hendrick Motorsports also provided some videos showing two of its teams performing pit stop tests over the winter. The second video shows some of the more detailed aspects of the racecar's rear end, including the stock-looking trunk cutout and a newly mandated rear bumper extension that will be used on super speedways like Daytona and Talladega.
To see what Team Chevy has been up to all off-season, check out all three videos posted after the jump.
