Up for auction or for sale is a 1960 Chevy Apache/C10 short bed truck
Body of the truck is documented 52k miles on the title.

This truck was purchased and torn down and built back up with some modern parts.

First off the frame was updated to independent front coil suspension. The front end was also updated with 2.5 inch drop spindles and 12" disc brakes.  The front coils are Classic performance parts 3 inch drop coils.  All brand new ball joints and inner and outer tie rods. All brand new shocks.

Stopping the new disc brakes is a brand new Corvette style dual reservoir master cylinder.

The motor is a fresh 327 with a nice size comp cam and a Pete Jackson quite gear drive.  The motor has a Holley intake with a 650 cfm Edelbrock carb.  The exhaust flows through new exhaust pipes on both sides and has 2.5 Summit Racing mufflers (that sound awesome).  The radiator was cleaned and pressured tested.

The 327 is connected to a turbo 350 automatic transmission with a shift kit that shifts flawlessly. The transmission shifts from a Hurst floor shift that has a local brewery's beer tap on it.

The drive line has been rebuilt and has brand new u joints and slip yoke.

The rear suspension is lowered using 5 inch CPP springs a 2 inch lowering blocks.  The pan hard bar was lengthened to accommodate the lowering of the rear.  The rear end is a GM 12 bolt with 4:10 gears.
The rear brakes are still drum and all parts were inspected and changed as needed.

The truck sets on 4 brand new 15x6 unique wheel steel wheels with baby moon caps.  The tires are brand new 215/75/15 radial white wall tires.

SO BASICALLY THE ENTIRE FRAME IS NEW.

The body of the truck is fairly clean.  It was purchased from an older gentleman and is documented 52k miles on the clean California title.  The body of the truck has a great shop truck patina but is not a rusty pile of junk underneath also (see the pictures).

The cab corners and the floor pans are rust free.

The interior was painted a nice clean white and was updated with new seat upholstery and a iPod/Cd player with the speakers hidden under the seat.

The carpet and interior weather striping is new as well as the front windshield.

All lights work and aftermarket oil pressure and water temp. gauges were added.

The bed wood was removed and replaced and has a satin spar varnish protecting it.

This truck has about 200 miles on the build and runs and looks awesome.  People love this truck and even love it more when they see the underneath and the engine compartment.

GM already raising prices on 2014 Silverado and Sierra pickups

Mon, 14 Oct 2013

General Motors must be pretty pleased with sales of its two newest pickups, the GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado, as it's announced price hikes for both models, as part of a planned price tweak.
Prices will be bumped by as much as $1,500, although weirdly, they'll be offset by as much as $1,500 in cash-back offers through the end of October. Fox Business reports that GM spokesman Jim Cain said of the price hike, "With the sell down of the '13 models nearly complete, this price adjustment was planned and is a normal part of business."
The move, as Fox is quick to point out, is an interesting one, as sales of the twin pickups struggled last month relative to the Ford F-Series, while both of GM's crosstown competitors have been aggressively undercutting Silverado and Sierra prices. The F-150 starts at $24,070 and the Ram 1500 comes in at $23,600, not counting any cash on the hood. A base Silverado, meanwhile, retails at $25,575.

GM profits threatened by glut of pickups

Wed, 05 Dec 2012

Automotive News reports that General Motors may slash production or ramp up discounts in order to deal with an oversupply of pickup trucks. GM currently has more than double the standard supply of pickups, and the vehicles are threatening to dampen the automaker's profits for 2013. Typically, automakers try to sustain a 60- to 75-day supply of vehicles, but GM is currently loaded with a 139-day supply, as of last month. At the end of November, the automaker was sitting on 245,853 units.
The manufacturer says that it will adjust production accordingly before laying any incentives on the profitable pickups. Even so, there's some concern that the inventory swell could hurt the roll-out of the next-generation Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. GM actually began slowly stepping back production in August, but it's clear the company will take further action as it heads toward the end of the year and into the next. Analysts predict the automaker could reduce pickup manufacturing by nearly half in the first quarter of 2013.
That still may not be enough to keep GM from laying extra cash on the Silverado and GMC Sierra. While the company's incentive spending was down in November compared to the same month in 2011, both the Ram 1500 and Ford F-150 saw double-digit percentage increases in sales last month while the Silverado and Sierra numbers slid compared to a year prior. Incentive spending could help move more trucks and add some balance to the GM inventory surge.

Can A Fleet Queen Become a Fullsize King?
On paper, the Chevrolet Impala is a pretty strong seller, posting annual sales that have hovered right around 170,000 units for the last two years, but it only takes one trip to practically any rental car agency to discover where the majority of those sales have come from. In fact, General Motors told Autoblog that a full 70 percent of Impala sales last year went to fleet companies for things like rental cars and government vehicles. Logic tells us that this is neither good for resale values nor name equity, so Chevrolet is getting ready to roll out an all-new Impala with improved comfort, styling and technology, hoping to turn the tables on its retail-to-fleet ratio.
Chevrolet's sedans have come on quite strong in the last few months with the introduction of the Cruze diesel and the SS sedan, but while these will likely be low-volume sellers, there's more pressure for the new Impala to perform well as GM looks to slash fleet sales and compete with the wide variety of full-size sub-luxury sedans. Riding on a platform shared with the Buick LaCrosse and Cadillac XTS, the 2014 Impala will compete against the Hyundai Azera, Ford Taurus and Toyota Avalon on the more traditional side, while also looking to take a bite out of somewhat sportier models like the Chrysler 300/Dodge Charger twins and the Nissan Maxima. We headed to sunny San Diego to see if this totally new Impala can stand on its own without the assistance of fleet companies and rental agencies. [w/video
