Hello to all ebayers, PLEASE READ.....

.....up for your consideration and/or bid is my 1984 Chevrolet Blazer.  This is the next to the last generation of the FULL SIZE Blazer that only came in 2 doors long before the term SUV was common place.  The engine, transmission and rear-end (differential) are all original and have never been rebuilt or out of the Blazer.   I've owned the Blazer since 2002 and purchased it for a decent price at the time due to it would no longer qualify for a State of Maine inspection sticker.   I purchased it with the intent of a back-up-parts-Blazer,....(as good luck would have it),...I never needed ANY Blazer parts what-so-ever.  Point being, the Blazer is ALL original and 100% complete that would make a great "fixer-upper", restoration project or an excellent parts Blazer, should you need any parts.  The frame is very solid and in excellent condition with just surface rust, no bad spots or structural issues of any kind.   PLEASE NOTE;.....I ALWAYS POST UNDERCARRIAGE PICTURES (SOMETIMES SEVERAL)!!!!!  The last time I started the Blazer was in 2002 when I purchased it and drove it onto the flatbed trailer and has been sitting ever since,...for the simple fact that I purchased it as a parts-Blazer for my '85 that's in excellent/ near mint condition.  The engine may be stuck from sitting for 10+ years or a faulty starter???...I'm not sure, a solid "clunk" sound comes from the starter area and the engine does not turn by key with a fully-charged battery.   The motor oil level and antifreeze are clean and at the full level even from sitting all those years in storage.  The running gear all worked fine when parked, and the Blazer currently moves around with ease (when towed) on a fully free-rolling chassis.   All the tires are 31" X 10.5" X 15,...hold air and stay up with no problem, (except) the drivers side front that goes flat from full air pressure in 48-72 hours.  The sheet metal all around is good, there are some small areas of rust "here and there",...the worst sheet metal rust is the rear cargo floor area (see pictures) which is very much typical of all full size Blazers used in winter-salt/ calcium-chloride regions of the country.  Also the rockers are showing rust issues along with both doors,...please see the pictures I posted.  The drivers side door needs replacing do it being bent, sprung and the glass is broke/ missing as of approximately late June of 2014 when I moved it around and "goofed" :-(   As I said the Blazer is 100% stock,...and even has the complete set of original rally rims, trim rings (less one trim ring missing on the drivers side front) and center caps which are increasingly hard to come by as of late years.   The Blazer also comes with the hugely popular (for that era) exterior sun visor that is in excellent condition with no cracks or breaks.

I've stated all that I know about this Blazer as factual as possible.  Due to the age and amount of sitting for years, this Blazer does not come with any guarantees or warranties expressed or implied and is sold as is where is.  For the winning bidder I offer FREE delivery BUT only if you are local and/or up to only 20 miles away. If you are 21-100 miles from the Blazer I offer delivery for a fee of $1.00 per mile. I do not offer any delivery options over 100 miles and I certainly do not offer any long haul options from state to state either.   Any winning bidder that is in the "over 100 mile category" it is up to you to make shipping arrangements and of course all transportation and shipping costs are the expense of you...(the winning high bidder).   At my discretion, I may extend the free delivery from 21-100 miles if the Blazer reaches a dollar amount I deem acceptable. Should you use your own trailer/equipment to pickup the Blazer,...I offer FREE loading assistance to you with my Rollback and equipment,...or I'll assist the carrier of your choice (should you hire one),...also FREE of charge.

PLEASE NOTE;...the state of Maine does not/will not issue a title for ANY automobile/vehicle of 1995 and prior. I do not have a title and the Blazer comes with a bill-of-sale as ownership. ADDITIONAL NOTE;...some states will not accept a bill-of-sale as ownership of a vehicle,...please check with your individual state. FOR THOSE PERSPECTIVE BIDDERS THAT FIT INTO THIS LAST CATEGORY,...please let me know and I can contact the state of Maine and they will issue a legal document so that you can take this paperwork to YOUR state DMV you reside in and YOUR STATE will issue you a new title in your state.  I've done this may of times before and to my knowledge this is the only perfectly legal way for bidders from title-demanding states to get a title for a vehicle from a non-title issuing state.

I believe the pictures speak for them self, and what doesn't I've included in the description,........if you feel I have missed anything or you have any questions what so ever, please feel free to send me an email and I'll answer the question(s) asap. Upon the completion of the auction I ask that the winning bidder to commit to the transaction with payment in the form of a $200.00 deposit within 48 hours. I also ask that the high bidder follow-up with full payment in 7 days,  or contact me for additional time if needed.  If you have no intent of following threw with the complete payment of the auction item, please just don't bid and waste everyone's time playing games,...any non paying bidders will be reported to both ebay and all 3 major credit reporting agency's.

********KEEP WATCH,...a lot of interesting older ANTIQUE/CLASSIC AUTOS (1949-1985) better shape than this coming in the next several weeks/months,...ALL of which will start with a modest starting price w/NO RESERVE!!!********

                                           .....thanks for looking, Bob.

Chevy Camaro is a good sport, wishes Ford Mustang Happy 50th

Tue, 15 Apr 2014

It was 1966 when Chevrolet launched its challenger to the wildly successful Ford Mustang, the Camaro. While the competition between the two brands was already healthy, the arrival of the Camaro set off one of the most intense, model-to-model rivalries in the industry.
That competitive spirit hasn't stopped Chevy and the Camaro from wishing Ford's iconic muscle car a Happy 50th Birthday as the Ford's April 17 anniversary rolls around. These two cars have been linked over the years, and while the rivalry took a break for a few years in the 2000s, today's competition between the Camaro and Mustang is as fierce as it's ever been.
You might recall that this friendliness when it comes to major milestones isn't too rare. Ford put on quite a display for General Motors' hundredth anniversary back in 2008. As the Camaro's fiftieth birthday approaches in 2016, we wouldn't be surprised to see the Mustang sending its best wishes to its Bowtie rival.

Why the Corvette is Chevrolet's billion-dollar baby

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

Edmunds has worked up a piece that tries to figure out just how much the global Chevrolet Corvette economy is worth, a spitballed guesstimate putting the number at more than $2.5 billion with the proviso that the number is probably low. It starts by taking Corvette's new car sales of 14,132 units last year, which would equate to $714,725,900 (including destination) assuming ever car sold was a base coupe with no options. In the final tally, a little extra padding gets that number up to $750,000,000.
But that's not all. Consider this: Many of the almost 1.4 million Corvettes produced over the model's history are still on the road. There are new parts being produced and aftermarket companies like Mid-America Motorworks deaing business, that single Illinois company doing more than $40 million a year in sales. There are the Corvette events large and small, restorers who do nothing but Corvettes, salvage yards that deal only in used Corvette parts and the Corvette magazines where owners find all this stuff.
And then there are the Corvette-themed tchotchkes, every single one of which provides a tiny contribution to the huge licensing royalties that General Motors collects every year. The article admits there's no way to come to an accurate number, but it just goes to show how valuable one specific model can be to a company.

Chevy SS prototype spotted wearing Pontiac G8 clothes

Tue, 28 Aug 2012

Do not adjust your computer screen, you are not seeing the rebirth of the Pontiac brand. General Motors has chosen to use a G8 to disguise a test mule for the latest prototype of the forthcoming Chevrolet SS. The G8 was closely related to the Holden Commodore and Vauxhall VXR, the platform upon which the new Chevrolet performance model will be based. It should come as little surprise, then, that GM has opted to use the cladding from the former G8.
Thought the front clip of this mule is pure Pontiac, note the vents immediately behind the front wheel. That is a distinctive design hallmark of the Vauxhall VXR. Also note that this vehicle is right-hand drive, as the Holden and its Chevy counterpart will be very closely related. That likely includes potential drivetrains. The spy photos of this mule also reveal very wide rear tires, and rear wheels that do not match the fronts.
