LISTING FOR A FREIND.

Up for auction is a beautiful 56 Chevy 150 sedan.
This 56' is in incredible condition considering it was restored over 20 years ago!

This car was restored by serious craftsman that only knew how to do top quality work. The panels straightness, fit and finish are superior. The paint is clear and shiny and there are no noticeable flaws. There is no evidence that there was any major body work done, the quarters, doors, hood ,trunk, roof are perfect even after 20 plus years.

The engine is a 283 V-8 rebuilt by Rettenmeier Enterprises in Oxford Ct. Again more than 20 years ago. The engine runs as it should, with plenty of power and performs as you would expect from a locally famous engine builder. The car has stock rams horn style exhaust manifolds and true dual exhaust. It is equipped with a four speed transmission with a stock style rear end. The brakes are manual equipped with a dual master cylinder for safety.

The stainless trim on the car is excellent as is most of the chrome. The only issues are some minor pitting on the left side front bumper and the trim above the bumper in the same location (See pictures). The wheels are nicely detailed with pin stripping and original dog dish caps with factory style wide whites.

All of the glass is in very nice condition, the interior is done in a soft tan fabric. The headliner is stained along the edges and will need attention. The carpet is original style tweed green very sharp.

Under the car the floors, body supports, frame and wheel wells are all in incredible condition for a car this age. I really believe this car was always a rust free car.
If you have any interest in this car do yourself a favor and come to see this one. I feel you would be hard pressed to find a nicer 56' for the money.
I am completely confident listing this vehicle because there are truly, no "Stories" it is an excellent car.

This vehicle is sold As-Is where is with no warranties expressed or implied. I encourage bidders to come and see the vehicle or have it inspected by their representative.

PLEASE DO NOT BID UNLESS YOU PLAN TO BUY THE VEHICLE.
$1,000.00 non-refundable deposit required within 48 hours of auction end and balance due within 10 days unless other arrangements are made PRIOR to bidding.

Chevy Corvette gets Valet Mode with Performance Data Recorder [w/video]

Mon, 18 Aug 2014

For the 2015-model-year, Chevrolet introduces Valet Mode for the Corvette, an enhancement to the Performance Data Recorder (PDR) already available and to your peace of mind. The PDR already captures 720p HD video with a windshield-mounted camera, records interior audio with a cabin microphone and gathers telemetry data using GPS, saving the data to an SD card in the glovebox. You can then watch your track-day antics with various information overlays on the center console screen.
Valet Mode will let you hit 'Replay' when your car gets pulled up front smelling vaguely of fricasseed clutch. Turned on by entering a four-digit code, it also locks the interior storage spaces and turns off the infotainment system. It can't be turned off until the code is re-entered. There's a press release below with more information as well as a video that explains how it works, with the obligatory dig at the 'Vette's biggest foe.

Experimental mid-engine XP-819 Corvette going up for auction

Sun, 17 Feb 2013

It seems to be commonplace that when a new Corvette is in development, rumors swirl about a possible mid-engine layout. As is the case of Chevy's most recent C7 Corvette, these rumors never pan out.
In any case, the idea for a 'Vette with an engine mounted behind the driver can probably all be traced back to a single car, the 1964 XP-819 prototype. Built as an "engineering exercise" back in 1964, the prototype was designed with a rear-mounted engine. History tells us that the idea of a rear-engine Corvette fizzled, and the XP-819 was eventually cut up into pieces and stored at a shop in Daytona Beach, FL.
After sitting for untold years, a restoration project started on the car, and while it isn't yet fully completed, the current owner of the car, Mid America Motorworks, will have the car on display at the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance as a "driveable chassis" with hopes of having a fully completed car ready to bring to next year's show.

GM 6.2L V8 claims most powerful light-duty truck engine title

Thu, 12 Sep 2013

General Motors has officially captured the horsepower crown for mainstream pickup trucks with its 6.2-liter V8. The big mill, available in both the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, comes to market with 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, handily outdoing its two cross-town competitors, Ram (5.7-liter V8, 395 ponies and 407 lb-ft) and Ford (6.2-liter V8, 411 hp and 434 lb-ft).
The new GM 6.2 will take a bit of an investment, though. Those that want the extra thrust will need to go with either the LTZ or High Country trims from the Chevy, or the SLT and Denali trims from GMC, which are the two highest trim levels for the respective vehicles. Trim levels aside, if you're in the business of towing, GM has you covered. Optioned with the 6.2-liter V8 and the Max Trailering Package, owners will be able to pull 12,000 pounds, a hugely impressive figure.
We still aren't certain as to what sort of economy the new engine will get, but it'll probably be a bad bet for the fuel conscious. As for availability, expect to see the 6.2-liter trucks in showrooms later in the fall.
