This car is being relisted because the winning bidder was Non-Responsive and Non-Paying.  Please, serious bidders only.

I am the original owner of this 1986 Mustang GT Convertible with 44,775.   The car has been stored in a heated garage every winter since 1986, and stored many summers , too! It has never seen snow and has NO rust.  Almost everything on the car is original.  The exceptions are listed below.

The car runs great.  It is equipped with AC, PS, PB, PW, Power Top, 5-speed, cruise control, and remote trunk and gas release. Everything works with the exception of the AC.  That is a recent issue that I have not looked into yet.   It has the original AM/FM Cassette Radio, which works, but is pretty fuzzy.

The paint and body on this GT are almost all original and nice.  One rear fender(passenger side), and the front fascia were repainted in 1990 because of  dings.  There are a few other blemishes and normal signs of wear on a car of this age.  The car is not perfect, but it is solid with no rust, and has been well loved and taken care of.

The convertible top will need to be replaced.  It is in fair to good shape and the car can be driven just like it is, but it is starting to rip and pull away.  New tops are available for several hundred dollars plus installation costs.  The boot is in great shape.

The interior of the car is in very good shape.  Some issues are: the elastic on the pockets on the doors is stretched out, the rubber seals on the windows are dry and cracked, and some of the plastic tips on the heat/cool levers on the dash are cracked and broken.

The Mustang has several non-original additions.  The stick shift handle is from a turbo Mustang.  I do not have the original handle.  The tail lights are from an SVO mustang.  They are the same as the original tail lights with the exception of the black horizontal lines.  I do not have the original tail lights.  The wheels on the car are from a  1988 Mustang.  I do have the original 10-hole wheels and will include them with the car.

What a fun car to drive!  This is a very solid original car from the original owner.

I have included a picture of the window sticker that came on the car.

OnStar RemoteLink mobile app coming standard on all new GM vehicles

Thu, 06 Jun 2013

As an evolution and improvement of its OnStar technology, General Motors has announced that it will be expanding the RemoteLink Mobile App on most 2014 model year Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac vehicles. The new, aptly named RemoteLink Key Fob Services will allow users to remotely operate all of the same systems as the car's key fob, including locking and unlocking the doors and remote starting (on vehicles equipped with a factory remote starter) using a smartphone.
These Key Fob Services will be free for five years - starting from the vehicle's delivery date - but the full suite of RemoteLink features will continue to be offered only with a subscription (trial or paid). These premium features include contacting a live adviser, getting turn-by-turn directions and remotely monitoring the vehicle's diagnostic systems.

Cadillac planning its own engines, halo cars

Tue, 30 Sep 2014

Cadillac is in the midst of some big changes. It's got a new chief executive. It's taking some distance from parent company General Motors and moving to a new headquarters in New York. And it's instituting a new naming scheme that will allow not only for a more clear progression in its lineup, but also for more models. But that's not the end of the story. Not by a long shot.
Speaking with Automobile magazine, Cadillac's new president Johan de Nysschen revealed his intention to develop several new models and powertrains. For starters, he does not want Cadillac to continue borrowing engines from the GM parts bin, but intends to develop a new range of engines specifically for the luxury automaker. The program will likely start with smaller-capacity engines but eventually lead to new V8s as well, taking the place of the long-serving Northstar engine that finally ended its lifespan a few years ago after some two decades of production. Along with other technologies, de Nysschen envisions possibly sharing these powertrains with other GM divisions, but developing them first and foremost for Cadillac.
The bigger question, however, is where those engines would go, and de Nysschen had some thoughts to share on that front as well. For starters, the former Infiniti and Audi exec sees room for an even bigger sedan above the upcoming new CT6 that will cap the current range. Maybe even two of them. But that's not all. Johan wants to see Cadillac get (back) into the sports car game with a new halo model or two - something it hasn't really done since the Corvette-based XLR roadster. A pair of new crossovers are also said to be in the works, flanking the SRX on both sides with smaller and larger models.

Bridging The Gap With Power And Poise
As you read these words, West Coast Editor Michael Harley is preparing to drive the brand-new 2014 Cadillac CTS along the gorgeous, sun-drenched roads of Southern California. And while I'll wait for Harley's full report before I put words in his mouth, I'm willing to bet he enjoys the hell out of Cadillac's new CTS. In fact, I'm sure of it.
I say this with confidence because, about a month ago, I spent the better part of a day flogging the new CTS Vsport around the 2.9-mile Milford Road Course - a challenging circuit laid out in the infield of an oval test track at GM's proving grounds in southeast Michigan. The MRC was built about a decade ago after Bob Lutz was lured out of retirement to work closely with GM's product development team, and thus, this circuit is known informally as the "Lutz Ring." The main objective of the MRC was to have an in-house facility for engineers to fine-tune vehicle dynamics, without having to constantly schlep cars over to Germany's infamous Nürburgring. (Of course, they still do.)
