For your consideration is a beautiful 1962 Buick Special Convertible. What makes this super rare vehicle even more collectible that its’ equipped with the factory numbers matching 215 Aluminum V8 (155 H.P) engine and mated to the original Buick Automatic Transmission. I acquired the car from the grandson of the original owner who purchased it new, so it was a one family owned car. It drives and rides straight down the road. Very smooth, handles extremely well for what it is, and easy to drive for a man or woman of any size. Short or tall, it is an enjoyable ride. I am 6’3”, and fit comfortably with the top up or down.

Restored and updated in the mid 1990’s with one repaint. The paint shows very well and still retains much depth and shine. All of the stainless and chrome are in good condition, free of pitting or rust. The front and rear bumpers are presentable, but could be sent out for re-chroming to be perfect. I did get a price of $750 for the pair. The Power convertible top works, moves up and down as it should, and shows well. There are two spots on the top where it must have rubbed from storing the vehicle with the top down. It does not leak, but is visible. The interior was replaced in the 1990’s as well, and looks great. No rips, tears, or issues.  All of the gauges, interior and exterior lights, blinkers, brake lights are functional. Even the original AM Radio works! The clock on the dash does not work at this time.

The Buick appears to retain all of its original sheet metal, floors, trunk pan, etc. It was a southern car its whole life, so it has been preserved well. The undercarriage is clean and straight. Free of rust, bubbles, holes, or issues. The 4 bbl carburetor has just been rebuilt, along with the brakes. The suspension and shocks have been upgraded at some point over the years. Tires have less than 1,000 miles. Last weekend I took the car on a 200 mile trip and I got 20 mpg on the highway! Overall, it is a step up from driver quality condition, but not a 100 point show car. It is turn key, drive home today, ready to enjoy. It needs nothing to take to a local car show and win a trophy. Or take grand kids for ice cream.  At this price point, it’s a tremendous opportunity to get into a classic convertible at a price that doesn’t break the bank!  I have many more photos that can be viewed on a website. Email for the the link or give me a call for more info 610-763-8277.

I encourage & welcome pre purchase inspections. I will work with your inspector, appraiser, mechanic, etc to make you feel comfortable with your purchase. Vehicle is sold AS-IS, NO Warranties Expressed or Implied. I have a clean clear title for this vehicle. If you have less than 5 feedback, please email prior to bidding. Please ask any questions prior to bidding. Don't assume anything. This is a legal binding contract. If you are the winning bidder, you are obligated to complete the purchase. You are not bidding on the opportunity to come and look at the vehicle and decide if you want to purchase the item! Also, please have all financing or funds in place prior to bidding. In other words, ask your wife first!! $1,000.00 Deposit due within 24 hours of auction close. Balance due within 7 days of auction close. PLEASE NOTE: If you pay by a certified check, vehicle WILL NOT be released until funds have cleared my banking institution!! Which typically takes 7 days.

I urge everyone to take a look at my feedback. Bid with confidence! It was 100% until a few weeks ago, when a malicious ebayer left me negative feedback over a $45.00 die cast model car! Apparently, a windshield wiper was damaged in shipping overseas. I attempted to rectify the situation, but the buyer would not respond or contact me at all, and left me negative feedback!

Located in Daytona Beach, Florida, 32118. Minutes from major route 95 on the northeast coast of Florida. 10 minutes from (DAB)-Daytona Beach International Airport. 70 miles to (MCO)-Orlando or (SFB)-Sanford International Airports. Fly in and drive it home!!

I will assist with selling worldwide, but payment and arrangements are buyer’s responsibility. I have used several shipping companies in the past, and can recommend shippers to contact, or can be arranged right through ebay and their recommended carriers. Contact Clint at 610-763-8277 for more info.

I do not send second chance offers!

GM sweetens military discount for Buick, Chevy and GMC

Sun, 06 Oct 2013

American servicemen and women interested in a new vehicle from Chevrolet, Buick or GMC now have a bit more incentive to head down to their local dealer, as General Motors has announced plans to improve its military discount program.
The new GM Military Discount Program offers eligible consumers a new Chevy, Buick or GMC at invoice pricing, which in some cases can take very large chunks out of a car's retail price. When factored in with other incentives, most of which are available with the Military Discount, the bargains are thick on the ground for members of the US armed forces.
GM's Retail Sales and Marketing Support general manager, Chuck Thomson, said, "GM has long supported the military and military families, and we hope this simplified and enhanced discount will show our appreciation for their service and help make it easier for them to own one of our great new vehicles." The program is open to all active duty and reserve members in the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, National Guard and Coast Guard, as well as veterans that have been out of the service for less than a year. Military retirees and their spouses are also eligible for the discount.

The importance of Angel Eyes, Ventiports and four round taillights

Sun, 01 Sep 2013

Just the other day, we told you about how Lincoln isn't really a luxury brand, according to Ford's head design man, J Mays. His argument was that Lincoln lacked the unique DNA to differentiate it from the rest of the market, although the arrival of the MKZ is beginning to change that. Now, we have this video from Autoline Detroit, where Jim Hall, an analyst for 2953 Analytics who was quoted in yesterday's Lincoln story, explains the influence of certain styling cues and how they impact the brands.
Using BMW (Angel Eyes) and Buick (Ventiports) as examples for small, simple touches that serve to distinguish the brand's vehicles on the road, Hall then points out how changing trademark styling features, as Chevrolet has done on the new Corvette Stingray, can hurt the vehicle's public perception. Take a look at the full video below for an interesting dive into what these styling features mean to their individual brands.

Cadillac, Buick and Chevy decisions impacted by worries abroad

European Concerns Drive GM, But Beware Of The French Connection
GM's bid to rationalize Europe will impact the products that will be offered domestically.
It seems that Europe is defining the future of General Motors more so than its home North American market. Having axed Saturn, Pontiac and Hummer, GM has done a fairly good job of repositioning its remaining four divisions, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Buick and GMC. Cadillac carries the luxury banner. Chevrolet is aimed at the masses with cars and trucks along with a nod to performance thanks to Camaro and Corvette. Buick bridges the premium gap between Chevy and Cadillac, while GMC offers a hardcore work/upscale proposition.
