1990 Buick Reatta Base Coupe 2-door 3.8l on 2040-cars

Year:1990 Mileage:188000
Location:

Roslindale, Massachusetts, United States

Roslindale, Massachusetts, United States

I drove this registered in NH till July of this year.  Parked it and bought another driver as this car is loud and needs work.   Replaced the muffler with a shiny cheap muffler that does very little to quiet the car. It has a number of issues and that's why it is selling cheap.  So the bad: Needs e brake cable.   Needs new muffler, needs new vent window and mirror passenger (tore this and mirror off. And a variety of small things such as radio which works but volume jumps up and down, maybe a new window motor passenger (not sure, but it was at least slow last time I used it).  The idle runs high sometimes. The abs light has and is always on but haven't noticed any changes in the brakes. Needs a new wiper arm on passenger, the old one bent.   The car was registered in NH and there they don't title, but may need some efforts to get a copy of recent registration (have the plate number).  I believe you can request a title or register using recent July records.

The good:  Engine runs good.  Trans shifts fine.  New front calipers, rotors and brakes approx one year ago.  New calipers and brakes rear approx one year ago.  New fan motor. 4 new tires, bought them about 1k ago for $500.00. The undercarriage is in beautiful shape, for some reason the dipped these cars in untra rust proofing.  The interior is in average condition, no major problems.

This could last you another unknown number of miles should you want to put in to it a bit of sweat equity and own a classic car. I can't see this car becoming less valuable it is one of few cars in the 90's that have 2 seats, style and collector value.   I still have my 90 convertible and that is creeping up in value.  Or use it for parts for your own Reatta, the windshield alone are selling for $6-$700.00 online.

2015 Buick Verano offered with six-speed manual after all

Mon, 09 Jun 2014

Good news, boys and girls (well, at least those of you who still like shifting for yourselves). Buick got in touch with us to correct some information that it had mistakenly announced; namely, that the 2015 Verano will lose its optional six-speed manual transmission. Apparently, that announcement was incorrect, and the compact sedan will indeed continue to offer a manual option for 2015, despite what we're certain is a low take rate. Additionally, the Desert Dusk Metallic paint that was said to come as part of an Appearance Package is no longer part of the deal. With that out of the way, we now return you to your regularly scheduled automotive-obsessive broadcast...

Movie Review: Black Air: The Buick Grand National Documentary

Thu, 06 Dec 2012

As Buick currently claws and scratches its way back into relevance to compete against luxury brands like Lexus and Acura, it's hard to believe that not too long ago, the brand had a car that was mentioned in the same breath as Corvette, Lamborghini and Ferrari. That car? None other than the Buick Grand National. All black with a turbocharged V6 and some of the quickest acceleration of its time, the Grand National, in today's standards, is along the lines of a 2013 Shelby GT500 with both cars essentially being a working man's supercar.
The last Grand National rolled off the assembly line in Flint, MI on December 11, 1987, and to mark the silver anniversary of that somber occasion, Black Air is a documentary of the Grand National from the perspective of the enthusiast, the collector, the media and even from those at General Motors responsible for creating such a sinister legend. Like the car itself, Andrew Filippone Jr. shoots the documentary in a raw fashion, and it definitely helps to show why a low-volume muscle car from the 1980s is still the object of obsession for many automotive enthusiasts to this day.

New Buick Verano testing in Germany

Thu, 29 May 2014

A refresh to Buick's popular Verano sedan appears to be nigh, thanks to these spy photos that show the tweaked four-door testing in Germany.
As with the current Verano, the refreshed model will have a great deal in common with its European platform-mates, the Vauxhall/Opel Astra. Each car rides on General Motors's Delta II platform. Unlike the current car, though, the refreshed model's styling could lean more heavily towards its European roots, if these photos are any indication.
Despite its commonality with the Astra Sedan, the Verano has featured its own unique styling since arriving in the US back in 2011 as a 2012 model, with distinct fascias at both the front and back, as wells its own headlight and taillight designs. The two cars were still rebadged vehicles, but it was more subtle than it will be in 2015, when the refreshed Verano arrives. Astra-like elements are expected to dominate, particularly in regards to the headlights and taillights. That said, trademark Buick styling features will remain, like the waterfall grille. Really, then, the 2016 Verano won't be unlike the Regal - a rebadged Vauxhall/Opel Insignia, aside from a few very small styling details.
