1988 Buick Reatta Base Coupe 2-door 3.8l Mileage 90367 Red Exterior Tan Interior on 2040-cars

Year:1988 Mileage:90367
Location:

Macon, Georgia, United States

Macon, Georgia, United States

I purchased this Reatta from an elderly gentleman in Allentown, Pennsylvania on December 3, 2011. (Mileage 89493)  Previously owned by the original owner, a lady in Silver Springs, Maryland.  I drove the vehicle back to Georgia non-stop without any issues until I was approximately 3 miles from my residence when the a/c and alternator went out.  I continued to drive my other identical 1988 Reatta that I had purchased new in June, 1988.  I now have bought and restored a 1948 Ford F-100 and a 1976 Triumph TR6.  Consequently, I do not need to keep the Reatta I am now offering for sale.  I have also recently sold my original Reatta to a gentleman in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.  I replaced the entire a/c components and the alternator on this Reatta at 90350.  None of the more common Reatta problems exist on this vehicle.  The headlights pop up and down, the Michelin tires are like new, the windshield has no chips, cracks, etc., The leather seats are excellent; no wear spots, tears, etc.  The non-smoked in, overall interior is in excellent condition.  I have always kept this Reatta stored in an enclosed garage as it was by the prior owners.  Another common problem with the early Reattas is the clear coat peeling issue.  That does not exist here due to the indoor storage during the lifetime of the vehicle.  I am 70 years old and that is a factor in my selling this vehicle.  I am listing the Reatta with No Reserve because I do not want to go through the hassle of re-listing it over and over.  I would appreciate a reasonable bid somewhere in the neighborhood of $3500.  Please feel free to call me @ 478-755-1943 or email me @ Snoopy1333@cox.net. with questions.  I have $5659 invested and will definitely take a loss.  Thank you for your bid and consideration....Jim in Macon, Georgia.

2013 Buick Enclave

Mon, 29 Oct 2012

GM's Flagship Lambda Is (Still) A Smooth Operator
Consumers shopping for a domestic full-size crossover have heard all about GM's triplets. The Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia and Buick Enclave are a very appealing and talented group of siblings. Entering their fifth year of production, albeit middle-age in the automotive industry, each is attractive, well-rounded and very capable on the paved dance floor. While all share nearly identical base DNA and the same basic running gear, subtle physical differences and unique personalities emerge between the trio when one digs a bit deeper.
The most polished of the threesome, without question, is the Enclave from Buick. Fresh off a mid-cycle update (as are its siblings), the flagship of the platform boasts a facelift, innovative new features and an upgraded demeanor for the new model year.

Movie Review: Black Air: The Buick Grand National Documentary

Thu, 06 Dec 2012

As Buick currently claws and scratches its way back into relevance to compete against luxury brands like Lexus and Acura, it's hard to believe that not too long ago, the brand had a car that was mentioned in the same breath as Corvette, Lamborghini and Ferrari. That car? None other than the Buick Grand National. All black with a turbocharged V6 and some of the quickest acceleration of its time, the Grand National, in today's standards, is along the lines of a 2013 Shelby GT500 with both cars essentially being a working man's supercar.
The last Grand National rolled off the assembly line in Flint, MI on December 11, 1987, and to mark the silver anniversary of that somber occasion, Black Air is a documentary of the Grand National from the perspective of the enthusiast, the collector, the media and even from those at General Motors responsible for creating such a sinister legend. Like the car itself, Andrew Filippone Jr. shoots the documentary in a raw fashion, and it definitely helps to show why a low-volume muscle car from the 1980s is still the object of obsession for many automotive enthusiasts to this day.

GM SUV window switch recall urges owners to park vehicles outside

Thu, 07 Aug 2014

It's not unusual for there to be a lag between an automaker announcing a recall and the official documentation showing up on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration website. So it's no surprise that a recent GM campaign took about a month to appear in its official capacity. However, there appears to be some big differences between the two reports with potential safety implications.
In late June, GM announced that it needed to recall 181,984 examples of the Chevrolet Trailblazer, Buick Rainier, GMC Envoy, Isuzu Ascender and Saab 9-7x from the 2005-2007 model years, plus the 2006 Chevy Trailblazer EXT and 2006 GMC Envoy XL. The new documents paint a slightly different picture with 184,611 needing repaired and different model years listed.
The reason for the fix is still the same, though. It's possible for fluid to contact the master power window switch module in the driver's door, which can corrode the part. Eventually this could cause a short circuit, leaving the buttons inoperable and potentially leading to a fire. But the new NHTSA documents add an important note: "A fire could occur even while the vehicle is not in use. As a precaution, owners are advised to park outside until the remedy has been made."
