Up for bid is a unrestored 1984 Buick Regal T-Type. It is equipped with the 3.8 liter turbo engine and 2004r transmission. The rear end gears has been changed to a 373 ratio. Engine and trans runs very strong and quiet . Headliner has been replaced

Options on vehicle as follows :

a/c and heat , power windows , power locks, tilt steering column, power steering, cruise control, power drivers seat, cd player, 4 new speakers front and rear, duel cooling fans , center console pod gauge ( temp & volt ), 2 gauge pod on "A" pillar ( boost & tach. ). the brakes are good and the tires are fair

I sold this car many years ago , and it so happens that I got the chance to buy it back again, so I did.

Now for the bad :

trunk needs paint , header panel cracked ( see pic ), hood damaged ( see pic ), right rear quarter panel paint cracking ( see pic ),The Rest Of The Car Is Shinny

turbo seals leaking internally and has slight shaft play,( if vehicle is idling for long time when you step on the gas it blows blue smoke out exhaust from turbo seals ). digital tach. and boost gauge are inaccurate ( very common on these cars ) missing the r/front center cap.

Please understand this is by no means a #10" car , but you can drive it everyday while restoring it yourself. It still gets lots of "thumbs up "

This is a everyday driver car. The ONLY reason I am selling is it is to catch up on bills . If I find another way to do this I will be keeping it .

This is your chance to own a piece of an American Icon . There are not many of these left around . So get it while you can

This vehicle is sold AS IS , No Warranty Expressed or Implied, All Sales Final

I don't want to sound rude , please take into consideration, that this is a old car it has a few bumps and bruises.

                                                                 It is a Survivor

                       You Can DRIVE IT HOME

I constantly get a Thumbs UP every where I go with it.

                                                      Thanks and Happy Bidding

Buick has best sales year ever, delivers over 1M cars globally

Wed, 08 Jan 2014

If there are any lingering doubts why General Motors held onto Buick while killing Pontiac, Hummer and Saturn, one only has to look at the sales numbers from 2013 for the real answer. Thanks largely to strong sales in China, Buick set a global sales record last year by selling more than one million vehicles.
The lion's share of Buick sales came from China, which sold more than 809,000 units - about four times more Buicks than were sold in North America as a whole. In the US, the Buick Encore accounted for almost half of all US sales with 97,311 units as Buick spent the summer trying to keep up with demand of the subcompact crossover. Likewise, China-only models like the GL8 minivan and Excelle sedan (same as the US-spec Verano) were strong sellers in that market.
For good measure, Buick more than doubled its sales in Mexico with 2,319 units. Scroll down for the full press release.

Opel to be shuttered in China, but will restart Buick production in Germany

Fri, 28 Mar 2014

Opel, General Motors' troubled German brand continues its quest to reinvent itself and find solid profitability. In the course of that metamorphosis, the company has a bit of good news/bad news today. The good news is, it will once again begin screwing together Buick models for the American market. The bad news, though, is that it's being shut down in yet another country, China.
Let's start with the good news. The last vehicle Opel's Ruesselsheim factory built for the North American market was the early run of the then-new Regal, which is based heavily on the Opel Insignia. Production ran for just over two years, from 2009 to 2011, before moving production to Oshawa, Ontario.
Now, thanks to a 245-million-euro investment (just over $336 million), Opel will kick off production of a unspecified model for the US in the "second half of the decade," according to Automotive News. According to Opel, the new model will be announced before the end of 2014. You can begin your speculation about this new model down in Comments (we're wagering it'll be the Cascada convertible, sold here under the Buick umbrella).

eBay Find Of The Day: 1946 Tucker Torpedo Prototype II hides a secret Riviera

Thu, 10 Jul 2014

The Tucker Torpedo is one of the great what-if stories of automotive history. Preston Tucker hoped to revolutionize the industry with a car unlike any other on the road at the time. However, due to a variety of problems, he only managed build 51 vehicles before closing shop. Over time, they have become highly sought-after; In 2012, one sold for $2.65 million at auction.
That brings us to this Tucker "replica" that you see above because it might be one of the ugliest monstrosities ever put together. However, we might extend some leniency to the creator, as the vehicle isn't actually trying to replicate the classic look of the 1948 Tucker Torpedo. Instead, it is attempting to reproduce an earlier prototype from 1946 that actually features that weird, trident nose. According to the seller, his uncle built the car as a labor of love and supposedly used actual plans from Tucker as inspiration.
Underneath all of the crazy changes is a 1971 Buick Riviera powered by a 455-cubic-inch (7.5-liter) Buick V8. Some of the replica's odder modifications include the front fenders that turn with the wheels and the fin running down the back. All three headlights work, but the one in the middle is only for the high beams. Oddly, the small hinged sections on the roof are meant to open to avoid hitting your head when getting in or out. Maybe the seller's uncle was a very tall guy?
