1969 Buick Electra 225 Convertible This is a very solid and well driving classic 60's drop top. 430 V8 (recent rebuild), 3spd automatic, rust free body, good paint, etc. Option include: Power Steering, Power Disc Brakes, Dual Exhaust, Power Convertible Top, Power Windows, AM-FM Radio, Power Antenna, Tilt-Wheel, Air Conditioning, and Chrome Road Wheels. The car presents very well but as with any unrestored 45 year old car there are things that will need some attention - NONE prohibit you from enjoying this car just the way it is. 1.) Heater Core is bypassed - must have a leak in the core. 2.) Exhaust Manifold on the driver's side has a small leak, most likely a gasket since the motor is fresh. The exhaust looks new the rest of the way - I did notice a small hole in one muffler most likely due to condensation in the muffler. 3.) Radio does not seem to work - could be the antenna. 4.) Some minor rust bubbles that can be easily repaired (not rotted) showing around chrome trim at the base of the convertible ahead of the trunk. 5.) When you top off the gas tank - some gas will leak from the sender gasket on top of the tank. That's about it - I'm helping a friend sell this car, so any questions you have I can get answered, but may take a day or two. Buick Riviera Concept hits the floor in Shanghai

The Buick Riviera you see here - the name of which was last used in production back in 1999 - is said to preview Buick's future styling direction, which means we should expect to see more flowing body shapes to go along with new versions of the marque's classic waterfall grille design. Oh, and we don't believe there's a single porthole in sight.
Powered by Buick's so-called dual-mode wireless plug-in hybrid electric vehicle propulsion system (we'll stick with the W-PHEV acronym) that allows the car to be charged wirelessly just by driving atop a special charging mat on the ground, the car's powertrain is just as futuristic as its exterior shape.
Other high-tech bits include holographic projections on the windshield showing the driver what's around him, with input coming from 10 high-res cameras and 18 micro high-precision sensors. The car also sports 4G wireless connectivity so that its occupants are always connected.
GM recalling 1.5M cars in China for faulty bracket
Fri, 27 Dec 2013General Motors and its Chinese partners have announced their second recall in the People's Republic this year, following a 2,653-unit recall of the Cadillac SRX earlier this year. This latest recall affects nearly 1.5 million cars built between 2006 and 2012. It's not explicitly stated, but as there's no movement from the US NHTSA, we suspect that the cars in question were all Chinese-built rather than imports.
The vast majority of the affected vehicles are Buick Excelles (pictured), with 1.2 million units being recalled over a faulty bracket that's meant to secure the fuel pump. The Excelles in question were built between 2006 and 2012, while an additional 250,000 Chevrolet Sail superminis, built between April 2009 and October 2011, are being recalled for a similar reason.
According to the PRC's Administration for Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, the faulty bracket could crack and potentially cause a fuel leak.
2014 Buick Regal GS
Mon, 09 Sep 2013A few months ago I drove the 2014 Buick LaCrosse and wrote up a First Drive review of it. For all of my quibbles with that sedan (and I had a fair number), I understand that it speaks to the heart of what new Buick loyalists like in a car; it's roomy, has a cushy ride and is as placid as a summer's morning at highway speeds.
Those qualities, while undeniably desirable, don't mean a whole lot to me personally. I prefer sedans that conjure up words like "nimble," "punchy" or even "raucous" on occasion. So, directionally, the high-performance GS version of the 2014 Buick Regal is more my cup of tea than any other car in the company's current range.
In fact, I'd already come to know the Regal GS from its 2012 model year introduction, and grown more than a little fond of the sporting sedan in its original front-wheel-drive, six-speed-manual guise. The fast, sweet-handling car with well-sorted controls may have suffered from a slight identity crisis in terms of pricing (and may still), but it was undeniably fun to drive. So, when I heard that the GS was coming to market for 2014 with optional all-wheel drive (albeit only in combination with a six-speed automatic transmission), I was stoked to have another go and concentrated my driving impressions on the AWD car.
