Up for NO RESERVE auction I have my Carbon Black 2002 BMW M3 Convertible. Car runs really strong and shifts extremely quick and smooth as it should. Shows very well for the mileage it has. Has typical wear that any car this old has. This car is equipped with the SMG (Sequential Manual Gearbox). So it can be used in fully automatic or manual without clutch. It does have the Harmon Kardon Sound System as well, but the passenger side speaker might need some work. Everything is power and everything that is power works flawlessly. The "Service Engine Soon" light is on due to a bad O2 sensor. Because of this the car cannot be smogged in California, so it is only for sale out of state. The trunk at times will act up and not open, but that is rare. Also, both headlights work great, but there must be a short somewhere in the wiring and you have to turn the lights on and off to get them both on at times. Other then these little things that do not effect the drivability this car is amazing. I do not want to sell this car, but I have to because I recently moved out and need the money for financial reasons. It is definitely a head turner and a daily driver. Bangle urges auto design shakeup, says industry not innovating
Fri, 30 Aug 2013Controversial designer Chris Bangle, the man behind the notorious E65 BMW 7-Series "Bangle Butt," has some rather sharp criticism for the current crop of automotive designers in an upcoming full-length interview with Automotive News Europe. The preview, posted on Automotive News, details parts of the interview, with the always vocal Bangle lamenting the state of modern automotive design.
"Even concept cars today simply anticipate the next production model coming down the line. Is this innovation? No. And at the end of the day this is what's preventing car design from moving into a new era." Controversial as Bangle's design philosophy may be, we can't help but think he has a point. His so-called "flame surfacing" at BMW and other stylistic elements had a huge influence on modern automotive design, although as the years have passed, there hasn't been much innovation on the same scale.
Interestingly, Bangle also mentions that he's been courted by a few manufacturers that wanted to install the American as the head of their design teams. He's flatly rejected them, telling ANE, "It's not something you can do part time, you have to do it with all your heart and soul or you're going to get it wrong."
Audi overtakes BMW as adulterers' favorite car brand

Last year, this same poll showed that BMW was the car-of-choice for adulterers.

2014 BMW X5 recalled over faulty child-safety locks
Tue, 27 May 2014BMW is set to recall some 6,400 of its new-for-2014 X5 SUVs built between December 12, 2013 and March 10, 2014 due to concerns that the child safety locks, if set, might deactivate without warning. The problem affects only those vehicles with the automatic soft-closing option.
According to the bulletin issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the lock mechanism on the rear doors "may not have been manufactured to correct tolerances," meaning the safety locks could disengage with a simple pull of the door handle. Basically, with a pair of tugs, the rear doors could be opened from the inside, regardless of child safety locks.
BMW is in the process of notifying owners of affected vehicles. Any necessary repairs will be conducted free of charge. Take a look below for the official press release from NHTSA.
