If you have any questions please email at: gilbertegsstudier@chelseafans.net . I'm sure I'll regret doing this at some point, but the time has come to sell this awesome piece of engineering and
machinery. The car has performed flawlessly and without any major issue for the last year I've owned it. The car
walks a very fine line between "streetable" and "racecar", but is executed perfectly, in my opinion. The Recaro
Pole Position Seats are amazingly comfortable. At TX2k this year I drove back and forth from DT Houston to Royal
Purple Raceway (across Houston) and every person that road with me commented on how comfortable they are. The car
has been to 2 events in the last year that I've owned it and 1 event earlier in 2014 with the previous owner. Each
time it has performed flawlessly and made back to back to back passes. I honestly wouldn't hesitate to drive this
car cross-country, as long as there was plenty of E-85 along the way. With that being said the car is Flex Fuel and
is currently tuned for 91 and any ethanol blend (AEM Infinity adjusts parameters based on ethanol content with
strategies similar to what an OEM vehicle would use). There are 4 boost settings, which are controlled via the
cruise control buttons on the steering wheel and displayed on the tachometer accordingly (ie. 1k RPM = Boost
Setting 1, 2k RPM = Boost Setting 2, 3k RPM = Boost Setting 3, etc.). Two-Step/Antilag are also controlled through
the steering wheel on the On/Off Switch for cruise control. The cruise set button modulates the Traction Control
for the AEM Infinity. OEM Traction Control is retained to the best of my knowledge. This car has so many trick
features on it and gets compliments everywhere I take it. It is insanely fast for a BMW, or for any car for that
matter. Was the previous record holder for the fastest 1/4 mile time and speed.
I am selling the car simply because I don't get to use it often enough. The roads where I lived are incredibly
rough and I typically only drive the car when trailered to somewhere else for an event. Would really like to sell
it to someone who is a BMW enthusiast and will keep this car in the amazing condition it is in. The asking price is
OBO and is based on multiple factors including the work, effort and craftsmanship that went into building this car
as well as its condition. I do not want to trade for any other vehicles, property, or anything that isn't
deposit-able into a checking account.

Is the BMW i8 actually already sold out?

Mon, 02 Dec 2013

The other day we brought you a report from Reuters, which quoted BMW's global sales chief Ian Robertson as saying that the Bavarian automaker had already sold out the entire year's production run of its new i8. Impressive, sure, but perhaps not all that unusual for a groundbreaking new sportscar from a major automaker, of which only limited quantities are typically built. But is the i8 really sold out?
Our compatriots at Car and Driver chased down the story and report that Robertson's claims aren't exactly accurate. According to C/D, the numbers are based on sales projections, not actual orders taken. So while BMW may build upwards of 1,900 i8 coupes next year and over 5,000 in 2015, and while they're all expected to sell, that doesn't mean that it's too late to get your order in. That is, assuming you have the $135k on hand and don't mind getting just three cylinders back in return.

Getting Our Butts In The Seats
Both the non-M BMW 3 Series sedan and 4 Series coupe have so far brought much pleasure to us at Autoblog. The terrific four-cylinder 328i trim has become our favorite of the 3 Series line, while we have yet to get a chance at the 428i coupe. That said, the 35i trim powered by a 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo inline six-cylinder engine is not exactly to be sniffed at.
We all know the ones you're really waiting for, though. The F80 fifth-generation M3 sedan and the supremely sexy F82 M4 coupe. Rumors have been buzzing for a couple of years now that the engine would be another V8, only turbocharged this time, or else a tri-turbo six. Well, today BMW confirmed that the mill under the hood's power bulge is a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder TwinPower Turbo of the biturbo variety, referred to internally as "S55B30 variant."

BMW X4 M probably not in the cards

Thu, 26 Sep 2013

BMW is preparing to exploit its latest market niche - those that find themselves unable to choose between the 3 Series, 4 Series and X3 - with the X4. If you're looking for an M product, though, you'll remain limited to the 3 and 4 Series. BMW's Bernhard Ederer, at the Australian launch of the X5, told Car Advice he wouldn't "bet on it," when asked about a hotter X4.
Oddly, Ederer's reasoning, according to the Aussies, is out of concern for the X6 M, whose sales the X4 M would apparently cannibalize. That's like saying the M3 doesn't make sense because it will cannibalize M5 sales - the logic just doesn't really hold up. "The question is what customers are we talking to? And are we talking to someone that is willing and able to afford [an X6 M]?" Ederer told Car Advice.
Car Advice seems to feel the same way, claiming the X3-based X4 will share its powertrains with its donor platform, and will eventually spawn an M variant, albeit a few years down the line.
