2003.5 Bmw M3 Convertible on 2040-cars
Sherman Oaks, California, United States
For sale is an extremely well cared for 2003.5 BMW M3 convertible with very low mileage: 32,600. This M3 is what is considered a 2003.5 because it is equipped with the updated SMG console, brushed aluminum trim and adaptive tail lamps (LED style). The Silver Gray Metallic M3 is equipped with black Nappa leather, SMG transmission, Bi-Xenon headlamps, Harmon/Kardon sound system, In-dash CD player, Cold Weather Package (gives the vehicle heated seats and heated headlamp washers), Premium Package, Park Distance Control (PDC), 3M clear bra since new (full kit, including all lens protection), rain-sensing windshield wipers and the optional 19" factory wheels. Relatively new Michelin Pilot Sport (PS2's) with 80%+ tread. Of course, the car is equipped with a long list of safety and standard features, but if you are familiar with the E46 M3, you already know this. It has been meticuously cared for using Griott Garage products. Clean Carfax, 92 point rating - no dings/dents, no accidents, never tracked and never abused. Never fueled with less than 91 octane. Full and complete service records, along with full history from date of new purchase. Inspection I service completed in September 2010. This fun to drive M3 is in impeccable condition and has only been driven during Spring and Summer. A must see. Please note that the mileage is subject to slightly change due to local test drives. Audi overtakes BMW as adulterers' favorite car brand
Fri, 14 Jun 2013As Audi hopes to surpass BMW as the top-selling luxury automaker, sometimes it has to look at the small victories, too. For instance, IllicitEncounters.com - a UK dating site for married folks (also known as adultery) - is reporting that a recent poll shows that more people willing to cheat on their spouses drive an Audi. Last year, this same poll showed that BMW was the car-of-choice for adulterers.
With Audi on top (pun intended) and BMW bumped to number two, Mercedes-Benz, Volvo and Volkswagen round out the top five car brands owned by unfaithful wives and husbands. Check out the poll over at IllicitEncounters.com, but be sure to clear your browser history afterward. You know, just to make sure your spouse doesn't get the wrong idea about the websites you visit.
Alex Zanardi back in the driver's seat with BMW
Tue, 21 Jan 2014If there's ever been an inspirational story in the pantheon of motor racing history, surely it's that of Alessandro Zanardi. The Italian driver worked his way up the motor racing ladder, making it into Formula One and winning two CART championships for Chip Ganassi Racing back before the series re-merged into IndyCars. Tragedy struck in 2001 when he lost both his legs in a crash at the Lausitzring in Germany, but rather than accept his fate, Alex pushed on. Fitted with prosthetic limbs, he learned to drive a racing car with hand controls and got back in the driver's seat.
Zanardi drove for BMW in the European Touring Car Championship and then in the World Touring Car Championship that replaced it, landing on the podium several times despite his physical disadvantage. He left racing in 2009 to train for the Paralympics, winning two gold medals in London, but Alex apparently couldn't shake the racing bug. BMW modified one of its M3 DTM racers with hand controls for him to test later that year. And now he's returning to motor racing full time.
BMW has just announced that Zanardi will be driving a Z4 GT3 in the Blancpain Sprint Series, the successor to the FIA GT Series and short-distance counterpart to the Blancpain Endurance Series. The car has been modified with the hand controls the Bavarian automaker's racing department fitted to the aforementioned M3 DTM and will be fielded by the ROAL Motorsport team with which Alex challenged for the European Touring Car Championship last decade.
BMW brings burlesque, Warhol, M1 and 6 Series Grand Coupe to Paris Photo LA
Mon, 22 Apr 2013BMW has worked with Paris Photo for ten years. This year, the photography exposition lands in Paramount Studios in Los Angeles for the first time, and BMW is not only coming with it, the Bavarians are bringing the Art Car that started it all: the 1979 M1 painted by Andy Warhol. For those attending the show, there will also be making-of video of Warhol working on the car - but if you remember the mini lecture that EVO magazine's Henry Catchpole gave on the Art Cars, you'll remember that Warhol finished the car so quickly that the cameraman barely had time to get the film rolling.
With that will also be a series of photos of the BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe dropped into noir scenes accompanied by burlesque models, all taken by photographer Uwe Düttmann. It's the first time they'll be exhibited at Paris Photo. You can check out a few of them in the high-res gallery above, and there's a press release below with more info.
