2002 Bmw M3 Coupe. 43k Mi. 6 Speed Manual. Black/black Cloth. No Sunroof.records on 2040-cars
Grand Blanc, Michigan, United States
'02 BMW M3. Only 43k mi. 6-Speed Manual. No Sunroof. Jet Black / Black Cloth Anthracite / Black Leather. Just inspected at BMW 43182 mi. All records since new. Clear Title and CarFax. No accidents. It was also inspected at 42632 mi at BMW of Ann Arbor, right before I bought it. Never Tracked. Very Rare Special Order: Cloth Interior, No Sunroof, Manual Seats, No Xenon. Unique "option-delete" car. . This M3 is true enthusiast car, No Sunroof option lowers the car center of gravity and makes it lighter by 30lb (some say by 45lb), it makes it more comfortable for tall drivers, no sunroof option yields 2+ inches of headroom, sunroof is always in the way if you drive with a helmet on. If you ever decide to put a roll cage in this M3, it is a lot easier to do, because it is no sunroof in the way. Anyway, E46 sunroofs have issues. No Leather Seats help with no sliding on a track days, and less sweating any other days, they also wear much less. This M3 has custom audio system with two JL amplifiers 500/1 and 300/4 installed in the trunk (they were approximately $500 each). This car has two sets of factory floor mats, two keys, books, all service records. Most importantly this M3 is low miles!!! I had this vehicle for two years, and only put approximately 650mi on it. I planed to keep it forever, but have to sell it. I also have '91 M3, and '95 M3, that I am keeping, so life is not that bad for me. Is Audi getting complacent and suffering from brain drain?
Wed, 27 Nov 2013The argument is made in a Reuters article: Audi is falling behind other luxury brands, such as Mercedes-Benz and BMW, due to a lack of research-and-development spending and "brain drain," or the migration of top executives and R&D chiefs to other parts of the Volkswagen Group. Reuters notes that Audi's current R&D chief is the third in 16 months.
Audi, which contributed to 40 percent of VW Group's $11.6 billion in profit the first nine months of the year, is delivering cars at a record pace: 1.31 million were delivered from January to October 2013 versus BMW's 1.35 million. Yet Audi, Reuters reports, doesn't have a halo car akin to BMW's new electrified i3 and i8 or an answer to Mercedes' plug-in-hybrid S-Class, and the R&D spending at Audi is less than BMW and Mercedes by a fair margin. It's noted in the article, however, that Audi benefits from other R&D spending within VW Group.
Reuters mentions that BMW "trumpets its new 'i' series" and the new Mercedes CLA and GLA ranges are winning "rave reviews" as part of its argument that Audi's recent lack of technological innovation could hurt future sales. Those cars do pack tons of new technology, some of which are firsts for mainstream production cars. But last time we checked, the i3 could be causing BMW's stock to slide, the CLA isn't receiving the rave reviews that Reuters would have you believe and the GLA hasn't been reviewed yet.
BMW i8 fully revealed ahead of Frankfurt debut
Tue, 10 Sep 2013It may be early in the morning here in the US, but in Germany, the first day of the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show is in full swing. BMW took advantage of the early start and showed off its long-awaited i8 plug-in hybrid sportscar, a two-plus-two, swan-wing-doored coupe, to the Frankfurt crowd.
We drove a BMW i8 prototype back in August, so many of the things we're reading today are clarifications on our initial suspicions or speculations. Underhood sits a 1.5-liter, turbocharged, three-cylinder engine. On its own, it churns out a respectable 231 horsepower and 236 pound-feet of torque, which is then channeled to the rear wheels by way of a six-speed automatic transmission. An electric motor, meanwhile, sends 131 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque through a two-speed automatic to the front wheels.
With all-wheel drive at its disposal, the total system power sits at 362 hp and 320 lb-ft of torque, and allows the i8 to scamper to 62 miles per hour in just 4.4 seconds. That excellent performance is offset by an estimated fuel economy figure of 94 miles per gallon, though, making this a fast and efficient vehicle. Charging is impressively fast on the i8, with a full charge coming from a 110-volt outlet in under four hours. A BMW Charging Station will trim the charge time down to 1.5 hours.
2015 BMW X4 gets its small-screen debut
Thu, 26 Jun 2014It's easy to dismiss the 2015 BMW X4. On one hand, the high-style crossover seems more like a boardroom decision than a practical one. In a world with the 3 Series, 4 Series, X3, 3 Series GT and 4 Series Gran Coupe, is BMW really being inundated with requests for a baby X6? Of course, when we finally got behind the wheel of the CUV for our First Drive, it proved rather entertaining, and certainly the X6's global sales success suggests that it's worth the relatively low-cost risk for the Bavarian automaker.
Now, it's the general public's chance to weigh in on the latest crossover Bimmer and vote with their dollars. The X4 is just hitting showrooms in the US, and BMW is beginning its marketing campaign for it with the slogan "Embrace the Unknown." The first TV ad shows off the CUV driving through the world's major cities as they undulate like the rolling ocean. A woman flatly says phrases starting with "Go," while a synth-heavy score plays underneath that wouldn't be out of place over the end credits in an '80s sci-fi movie.
Visually, it's actually kind of a cool ad and evokes some of the special effects from Inception. Focusing on an urban atmosphere is probably a good idea, too, because the percentage of X4s going offroad is likely to be in the low single digits, if that. Now, let's see if BMW buyers are willing to embrace the unknown of the X4. Scroll down to watch it for yourself.
