2001 Bmw M3 Base Coupe 2-door 3.2l,steel Clean Carfax, Bsw Speaker Upgrades Ipod on 2040-cars
Brownstown, Pennsylvania, United States
For sale my beloved 2001 BMW M3, totally stock (aside from stealth audio and iPod modifications), well maintained, adult owned, non smoker, always garaged vehicle. Mechanically this car is as good as it gets, no issues or warning lights. I bought the car from Apple BMW, and it went through their CPO inspection and repair process, but it was technically too old for the CPO program. I have owned and maintained it since then. New rear tires in 2013, all belts replaced in 2013, thermostat and front right control arm replaced in 2013. The car is stock, aside from having the horrible HK speakers replaced with BSW speakers that fit in the stock brackets and are detectable only by the human ear. I also added the BSW iPod integration kit that plays through the stock cd changer port and is integrated with the steering wheel buttons, it charges your phone and plays audio. Rear seats have probably been used under 10 times, the passenger seat used very little, and the driver seat obviously used frequently. This car has not seen rain or snow or during my ownership. It took me about 6 months to find a coupe, manual, sorted out e46 M3, there were a ton of convertibles and SMG cars, but very few manual coupes that were well maintained, and unmolested with "improvements". This car has no mechanical issues, an occasional rear brake light warning light comes on, and the next time you start the car it has usually reset itself. I am selling, due to a new teen driver in the family, and a second in another year or so. I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere, it has been as reliable as any of my Toyota automobiles.
Clear title in hand, please do not bid on this car if you do not have the approved funds to purchase. More pictures available upon request. |

BMW brings burlesque, Warhol, M1 and 6 Series Grand Coupe to Paris Photo LA
Mon, 22 Apr 2013BMW has worked with Paris Photo for ten years. This year, the photography exposition lands in Paramount Studios in Los Angeles for the first time, and BMW is not only coming with it, the Bavarians are bringing the Art Car that started it all: the 1979 M1 painted by Andy Warhol. For those attending the show, there will also be making-of video of Warhol working on the car - but if you remember the mini lecture that EVO magazine's Henry Catchpole gave on the Art Cars, you'll remember that Warhol finished the car so quickly that the cameraman barely had time to get the film rolling.
With that will also be a series of photos of the BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe dropped into noir scenes accompanied by burlesque models, all taken by photographer Uwe Düttmann. It's the first time they'll be exhibited at Paris Photo. You can check out a few of them in the high-res gallery above, and there's a press release below with more info.
BMW confirms M4 DTM for next season
Tue, 20 Aug 2013Fans of BMW performance had two events to keep an eye on this weekend: the reveal of the M4 Concept at Pebble Beach, and the efforts of the Bavarian automaker's DTM teams at the Nurburgring. What ties them together, however, is what BMW has in store for next year.
The German carmaker has confirmed that it's already working on a new M4 DTM to campaign in the highly-competitive touring car series starting next season. It didn't reveal any details, but we can expect the M4 to make the same jump to competition spec as the M3 did before it. And with some success, we might add: successive versions of the M3 have won 48 DTM races over the years, starting with the checkered flag which Harald Grohs claimed at Hockenheim in 1987 through to the same race which Augusto Farfus won earlier this year. After taking home the title for BMW in its first year back in DTM last season, Bruno Spengler also won at the Red Bull Ring in Austria two months ago, but the Bimmer teams seem to be having a bit of trouble defending its title against fresh assaults from Audi and Mercedes.
BMW undoubtedly hopes the new M4 DTM will help it turn another new leaf, and we're looking forward to seeing how it all shapes up. Read more in the press release below.
BMW M4 Concept beckons the new golden child of M cars
Fri, 16 Aug 2013Ushering in the next-generation of two-door M performance cars for BMW, the new M4 Concept was officially unveiled at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance last night after an unceremonious embargo leak yesterday afternoon. The reality of the fact that we will never again have a new M3 Coupe is a little easier to deal with after browsing the M4 Concept's sleek and sporty lines.
As was the case with the Concept 4 Series Coupe, we expect the this M4 to transition from concept car to production coupe with very few changes. Among the features we's bet against making it into production include the front splitter and the exhaust tips - both made from carbon fiber. Other notable details are the aero-shaped mirrors, the subtle M stripes on the carbon fiber roof and the 20-inch wheels exposing big six-piston from brakes. If it were up to us, we'd say bring this car to production as is - except for the paint color.
There is still no word on the M4's powertrain or if it will even offer a manual geabox, but we would imagine that we'll be seeing this car in production form, complete with all of those details at the LA Auto Show.
