I LOVE LOVE this car and baby it but we have anew baby in the house and although it fits a baby seat just fine (has the metalclips), it's too difficult to get him in and out and time to get a minivanor SUV. Drives like a dream. All major scheduled maintenance done (Inspection Iand Inspection IIs.... the most recent Inspection II, scheduled for 120k done @127,384 on 1/10/215 @ Solo Motorsports in Norcross, GA). I have records for, Ibelieve, everything since I purchased in 2010 and also have the dealer pulledrecords what was in the system from when it was new until I bought it. Pristinecondition other than the leather on driver seat which is worn in places andcoming unstitched in others plus the passenger leathers is wearing where you getin and out but is still intact. See pics. No cracks or scratches in doors, dash, and overall interior otherwise. Electric seat controls, both seat heaters workwell and fast, cassette, CD changer in trunk (I've never used and the DICESilverline audio adapter uses the CD input to play through iPhone) Newconvertible top as of 2011. I baby this car. Wash and wax regularly. Just had afull detail with clay bar conditioning done this week as you can see from thephotos. Also condition leathers regularly. BMW calling in 76k vehicles over airbag issues

Mon, 16 Dec 2013

Vehicles these days are typically fitted with a mat in the front passenger seat that determines whether that airbag needs to be activated in the event of a collision and how it should deploy. But that system doesn't always work, as Mercedes recently found in its SL-Class roadster and as Suzuki did before it with the Grand Vitara and SX4 crossovers. Now a crop of BMW vehicles have befallen the same issue, prompting the Bavarian automaker to cooperate with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to issue a recall for the vehicles in question.
The problem affects precisely 76,565 vehicles, including certain the 3 Series (sedan and wagon), 5 Series, 7 Series and X5 crossover families spanning the 2006 and 2007 model years and fitted with a certain type of seat. However, since the parts to repair the problematic components are not currently available, as you can see from the recall notice below, it won't be until March 2014 when local dealers will be able to resolve the issue.

BMW 2 Series, X5 get their M Performance parts on

Mon, 02 Dec 2013

BMW models come in a number of flavors, from their standard guises to M Sport variants and M Performance models to full-on M muscle machines. But if you want to pick and choose the degree to which you want your Bimmer upgraded along the path to M, BMW automaker offers its M Performance Parts line. The Bavarian automaker already offers these performance and stylistic add-ons for a number of models, and has now released new kits for both the 2 Series Coupe and the latest X5 crossover.
The catalog for the 2 Series includes an available lowered suspension kit, upgraded brakes, new alloys, carbon aero kit and interior trim enhancements. There's also a power kit available for the 220d model that squeezes out an extra 16 horsepower for a total of 200, and a limited-slip differential and exhaust silencer for the M235i.
Upgrades to the X5 crossover, meanwhile, also include a carbon aero kit and interior trim package. The X5 xDrive35i model also gets a power kit boosting output by 20 ponies to 326 hp and an exhaust silencer. Scope out the details in the pair of press releases below and the pair of high-resolution image galleries top and bottom.

Watch the BMW M4 drift around an aircraft carrier

Mon, 07 Jul 2014

A Nimitz-class American aircraft carrier is big. Really, really big. After all, it has to be, in order to launch and recover a wide array of military aircraft. But when it's not catapulting F/A-18 Super Hornets and E-2 Hawkeyes into the wild blue yonder, what exactly can you use its 1,040-foot long flight deck for? Well, BMW seems to have an idea.
Now, obviously BMW hasn't paid Uncle Sam to convert the deck of the USS John C. Stennis into a racetrack (but what an idea!). That doesn't make this video of an Austin Yellow M4 slipping and sliding its way around the carrier deck any less entertaining. The video itself comes, weirdly considering the US aircraft carrier, from BMW of Canada, and we aren't really sure what the point of it is. There's no voiceover, or title or closing screens to lend the scene any context, and it seems unlikely that this sort of seemingly high-dollar video wouldn't be done sheerly for giggles. Whatever the reason for its existence, it's worth a watch.
Scroll down and have a look.
