1990 BMW E30 M3
Clean title, two owner car with the second owner having had it since 1995. Everything is there on the car and it
could make a great driver, or a minor restoration. To make the transaction as effortless as possible for the next
owner, i've included as much information as possible.
Mechanicals:
Strong healthy S14 with 1-190-2%, 2-190-2%, 3-200-1%, 4-190-1% compression numbers across the board on cold engine.
Water pump replaced 100 miles ago, with cooling system refresh in 2014. Car has a stage 3 clutch, so the clutch
release is rather on the heavy side. In addition to that, it required a bit of effort to get the car into first
gear.
Suspension/Wheels:
Has Bilstein Sport shocks and white lowering springs (H&R?). Tires are brand new Sumitomo HTRZIII 235/40/17 with
17x8 Borbet Type E.
Interior:
Overall very solid shape. Front seats leather is good with no loose stitching. Rear seats are also solid, but split
at the seams in three places at the top (common). All electronics work as well as instrument cluster. There's an
Alpine head unit and matching Alpine amp in the trunk with wiring.
Exterior:
M3 has had a paint job at some point.. It's a very presentable 10 footer that can be buffed to shine up well.
Fender vins have been painted over. Rear driver's quarter has some minor paint cracking. Surprisingly, sunroof,
battery tray, trunk and tails are rust free. Windshield was replaced at some point with incorrectly seal. There's a
spot of rust on the driver's floor pan area and sign of welding in the driver's rear wheel well. Car is wired for
low-beam HIDs - fog lights work.

Watch the BMW M4 drift around an aircraft carrier

Mon, 07 Jul 2014

A Nimitz-class American aircraft carrier is big. Really, really big. After all, it has to be, in order to launch and recover a wide array of military aircraft. But when it's not catapulting F/A-18 Super Hornets and E-2 Hawkeyes into the wild blue yonder, what exactly can you use its 1,040-foot long flight deck for? Well, BMW seems to have an idea.
Now, obviously BMW hasn't paid Uncle Sam to convert the deck of the USS John C. Stennis into a racetrack (but what an idea!). That doesn't make this video of an Austin Yellow M4 slipping and sliding its way around the carrier deck any less entertaining. The video itself comes, weirdly considering the US aircraft carrier, from BMW of Canada, and we aren't really sure what the point of it is. There's no voiceover, or title or closing screens to lend the scene any context, and it seems unlikely that this sort of seemingly high-dollar video wouldn't be done sheerly for giggles. Whatever the reason for its existence, it's worth a watch.
Scroll down and have a look.

Are you the next BMW X5?

Tue, 15 Jan 2013

Who knew that diecast model makers could be such a good source of leaks? Less than a month after a diecast model 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA in China, someone overseas at Diecast Empire or Jadi Modelcraft could get a bath in boiling oil for leaking uncamouflaged images of the next-generation BMW X5.
Naturally, that assumes that this image from a brochure from a Jadi brochure is indeed the F15 BMW X5 - it was posted to Diecast Empire's Facebook page. In its favor, the lines all add up if we compare it to the most revealing spy shots we have of the coming crossover - the headlight corners, the metal trim separating the kidney grille from the opening just above the license plate, the cut of the swage line, and the fact that the model picture reveals all of the most important character pieces that BMW has kept covered.
There's something written on the door of the model image that isn't in the spy shots, but that could be an xDrive badge. We will see the genuine article soon enough and we'll know for sure. For now, we might have already seen its facsimile in miniature.

BMW M5 turns 30, celebrates sideways

Sun, 13 Apr 2014

BMW has a secret, and it's not telling. The brand's M Power blog is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the M5 and is taking a look back at previous models of its Autobahn-storming sedan, but it says that it will end "with a surprise." The celebration kicks off with a short video showing the latest M5 making some smoky donuts.
The original M5 debuted in 1985 and was the company's most expensive model at the time. Still, it packed a 3.5-liter six-cylinder generating a claimed 282 horsepower (286 PS), which was rather potent in its day. The company touted it as the world's fastest production four-door sports sedan at the time.
BMW won't reveal the surprise until it has chronicled all five generations of the M5, but it wouldn't be shocking to see an anniversary edition model appear sometime later this year. Scroll down to check out the video of the muscle sedan celebrating its birthday the only way it knows how.
