For the BMW collector, this is a rare opportunity. Cars of this caliber hardly ever become available and are getting impossible to find.  When is the last time you saw, a 1989, BMW, M3, original owner, with a clean car fax become available?  Never, never in the rain, never in the snow and always garage kept, by a real BMW enthusiast.

My son in law bought this car new in 1989 at Morristown BMW, in New Jersey.  He lovingly cared for it all these years.  Now with three children he realizes its time to let it go.

This car is truly amazing… Please send your mechanics, experts whoever, they will just confirm the condition of the beautiful M3. All the modifications (Wheels, air box, etc.) are bolt on, and the originals will be included in the sale.  Please look at the photos and you’ll see why it’s a spectacular car. The price is reflective of the condition.

All questions will be answered honestly, please call 973-768-5622.

We have priced it to sell (similar vehicles have sold in the $60,000-$70,000 range) so if your interested don't wait till the end.

Please don't bid or make offers if the funds are not available.

As this car is listed locally, I reserve the right to end this auction, at any time.

Now the fine print:

A $1000 non-refundable deposit is due at the close of bidding and the balance in 3 days.  If paying with a bank check, the title will not be released until funds have cleared.  This vehicle is being sold as is, where is with no warranty, expressed written or implied. It is the responsibility of the buyer to have thoroughly inspected the vehicle, and to have satisfied him or herself as to the condition and value and to purchase based upon that judgment solely.  It is the buyer’s responsibility to arrange shipping.

BMW X5 driver repeatedly fails to understand big rig braking distances

Fri, 19 Sep 2014

Nobody should be shocked that a big, heavy vehicle like a semi truck takes a longer distance to stop than the average passenger car; it's just basic physics. However, this BMW X5 driver seemingly has a major problem grasping the concept, and it results in some serious damage to the back of his SUV.
The whole incident is very confusing to watch. The BMW doesn't even seem to have a reason to slow down before the semi slams into the back of it at fairly high speed. But to make the situation even weirder, the crashes just keep happening again and again.
To give the BMW driver a little credit, he appears amazingly calm when surveying the damage afterward. But you have to wonder what this guy was thinking when trying a harebrained move like this. Check out the video to watch the carnage unfold.

BMW wants world drifting record back in US

Sat, 23 Mar 2013

BMW just can't stand the thought of the world record for the longest drift winding up in the hands of someone else. The German automaker is set to take a crack at setting a new record by blowing the old one straight out of the water. A driver in China holds the current title after kicking a car sideways for a full 3.6 miles. Now, on May 11, BMW Performance Driving Instructor Johan Schwartz will attempt to pitch a BMW M5 sideways for some 40 miles as part of a stunt to raise funds for the BMW Pro-Am Charity.
We've had the distinct pleasure of riding with the instructors at the BMW facility in South Carolina, and we can tell you that if anyone can keep an M5 at full tilt for 40 miles, it's these guys. BMW has released a teaser video to drum up attention for the stunt. You can catch it below.

Check out the trick way you access the tire valve on this BMW Alpina B6

Wed, 22 Oct 2014

The wheels are one of the first things you notice when checking out the 2015 BMW Alpina B6 xDrive Gran Coupe. The 20-inch aluminum alloy rollers have 21 spokes that spray out from their hubs, creating one of Alpina's signature design features. But there's also plenty of function to go along with the stylistic form of this hotted-up BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe.
By rotating the Alpina roundel and unlocking the center hub, you gain access to the tire valve and bolts, which are hidden inside. They're literally kept under lock and key, and they protect your Alpina's wheels from the elements and theft. This unique center-fill system employing a hollow spoke isn't a new setup for the favored BMW tuner, but since Autoblog had one in our offices this week, we thought we'd take the opportunity to show the unique mechanism in case you haven't seen it before. Check it out in our brief video below.
