1993 Bmw 8-series 850ci on 2040-cars
Los Angeles, California, United States
If you have any questions or would like to view the car in person please email me at: fabian.cisar@offensivelytolerant.com .
Selling my 1993 BMW 850CI with 49k miles. Has been in the family since 1993 and I have the original Bill of Sale
Contract from 1993 from BMW which will be included with the sale. The car is a survivor. The paint is faded, mostly
on the hood, but overall in good original condition for 1993. The car works great and was serviced at San Francisco
BMW regularly. This is the 850CI with the V12. Major Service (Inspection II) was completed in Summer 2015. An oil
change and fresh batteries were just installed. There are no warning lights or service lights on. The car was
purchased in Southern California in 1993 and never left the state. No Rust! Car passes California smog with ease.
The wheels are in excellent condition. No curb rash. The interior is in great shape, the drivers side bolster does
show wear. I kept it all original. The radio and OBC do have pixels out, but if you are a BMW lover like me, you
know these can be fixed easily. The factory alarm remote is included but works intermittently.

Mercedes says it's tops in luxury sales for 2012, not BMW
Tue, 19 Feb 2013It turns out that Mercedes-Benz North America has legitimate claim to being the top selling luxury nameplate in the US in 2012.
While sources such as Autodata had put BMW in the top spot, registration data from R.L. Polk shows that Mercedes customers registering new vehicles topped the Bavarian automaker in the most recent calendar year. Polk says Benz posted 274,123 registrations, compared with BMW's 268,498.
In terms of sales posted, BMW had bested Benz 281,460 to 274,134. But sales are recorded somewhat inconsistently from automaker to automaker. Some book the sales as soon as they are shipped from factory to dealer. There is perennial gamesmanship between the two German rivals, and the sales numbers suggest that BMW pushed out some extra sheetmetal to dealers in the last four weeks of the year.
2015 BMW M3 Sedan
Tue, 20 May 2014BMW's all-new M3 Sedan is dynamically nearly identical to its two-door M4 Coupe sibling: a stopwatch reveals that both are sub-four-second cars to 60 miles per hour, a racetrack proves that the mechanical twins are equally as adept on a road course and a full afternoon of driving on public roads demonstrates that each possesses talented everyday adaptability.
Yet after driving both BMW models back-to-back over two full days in Portugal, it's clear there are a few noticeable differences, both objective and subjective, that don't require instrument testing to reveal. All it takes is a few hours behind the wheel of both cars to conclude that one is slightly more agile, and the other a bit more twitchy. One has better outward visibility, while its counterpart is unquestionably more convenient.
It is the little things - subtleties attained through seat-of-the-pants observations - that eventually allow me to choose a favorite.
2015 BMW S 1000 RR looks to retain sportbike supremacy
Tue, 30 Sep 2014The BMW S 1000 RR is already a pretty potent member of the superbike ranks, but BMW is revealing a host of upgrades for this two-wheeled lightning bolt at the Intermot 2014 motorcycle show that should make it even faster.
The biggest additions to the latest 1000 RR are its new cylinder head, lighter valves and different intake cam to tweak even more power from the bike's 1.0-liter, four-cylinder engine, and BMW now rates it at a claimed 196 horsepower (or 199 horses if you go with the European measurement, converted from 146 kilowatts), a boost over the first-gen's 193 ponies, and 83 pound-feet of torque through a six-speed gearbox. Those adjustments would probably be enough to make the cycle a tick faster alone, but the Bavarian engineers also cut 8.82 pounds (4 kg) to bring the motorcycle's weight with a full tank of fuel to a feather-light 450 pounds. Much of that diet comes from the redesigned exhaust that cuts about 6.6 pounds off the scales.
Cradling that tweaked engine is a redesigned, lighter frame with fully adjustable springs. The bike also comes standard with Race ABS, stability control, seven-step variable traction control and three riding modes. In terms of styling, all of these changes are communicated through an updated fairing with repositioned, though still asymmetric, headlights.
