1986 Alfa Romeo Spider on 2040-cars
Grand Rapids, Michigan, United States
1986 Alfa Romeo Spider. This a nice solid example in a good interior/exterior color combination. Fluids have been recently serviced including oil and filter, transmission gear lube, differential, and brake/clutch master fluid. Seats are in good shape with no rips or tears, door panels are in fair condition, carpet is in good condition. Paint is in good shape with the exception of a few small chips. There are a few areas of minor surface rust low on the rocker panels as pictured. Tires are good, may benefit from a balancing. Top and rear window are in good shape. The elusive right/left mirror switch is in place and functioning. New battery this spring. Factory radio will be connected before the end of the auction. Front end is tight no clunking. Clutch is in good shape with plenty of pedal travel upon disengagement. Air conditioning compressor works but system has been diagnosed with a restriction somewhere either condenser, evaporator or expansion valve. Car runs, drives, shifts and brakes very well. I have owned the car a little more than two years.Winner bidder will have a solid enjoyable car. K&N aftermarket air filter included but not installed, as well as other miscellaneous. spare parts.

Porsche 911 Turbo and Nissan GT-R Nismo star in World's Greatest Drag Race 4
Fri, 26 Sep 2014We love Motor Trend's annual World's Greatest Drag Race video. Now back for its fourth appearance, the idea of lining some of the world's fastest cars up for a ten-wide, straight-line, full-throttle run is, well... it's pretty freaking badass.
The lineup this year boasts some impressively fast cars to be sure. The group of ten includes the following darlings: Alfa Romeo 4C, BMW i8, BMW M4, Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, Ford Fiesta ST, Jaguar F-Type R Coupe, Nissan GT-R Nismo, Porsche 911 Turbo S, Subaru WRX STI and, last but not least, the Volkswagen GTI. Give us any one of those for the weekend, and we're happy to take the keys.
It must be said though, that for a publication that draws as much water as Motor Trend does, there are some big cars that we might expect to be here instead. The Lamborghini Huracán or Ferrari 458 Speciale would have added some exotic flare to the list, and the omissions of the Chevy Corvette Stingray (for the second year in a row) and the Dodge Challenger Hellcat are real head-scratchers.
Alfa Romeo to launch eight new products by 2018, increase sales to 400K units

Alfa Romeo will go back to being the brand people admire, according to CEO Harald Wester.
After a few streams of news on the various brands in the Fiat Chrysler family, here's the deluge we've been waiting for - Alfa Romeo. The legendary Italian brand is being pointed towards a renaissance, as shown by the brand's five-year plan.
Marchionne uses racial epithet to describe what must power future Alfa Romeo models
Wed, 16 Jan 2013Sergio Marchionne and his Fiat empire have a lot riding on the US return of the Alfa Romeo brand. The endeavor has been in progress for what feels like a lifetime - certainly for as long as Fiat has had the Chrysler brand under its Italian wing.
It's not surprising that Fiat CEO Marchionne needs a perfect first Alfa to mark a return to America. And here's where things get dicey. Nobody would argue with Marchionne's insistence that Alfa Romeo's be powered by Italian engines - as Marchionne himself is quoted to have said at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, "There are some things that are well done in Italy."
If not what he said, then, it's how he said it that has eyebrows raised. "I cannot come up with a schlock product, I just won't. I won't put an American engine into that car. With all due respect to my American friends, it needs to be a wop engine." Wait, what's that?
