This is one of the most unique, one-of-a-kind vehicles that you will ever come across! It is a Hummer H1 replica made by Bummer. It has a steel/fiberglass hummer body set atop of a Chevy K30 truck chassis. This conversion was done professionally and the fit and finish is beautiful. It only has 14,000 miles on it since the conversion was completed around 2003.
The truck is a powered by a 350 Ram Jet multi port fuel injected engine paired with a TH350 automatic transmission. The transfer case is a stock GM transfer case. It has lockers front and rear which allow this vehicle to go anywhere you want it to off road but it still has very good road manners. The truck sits on 38" Super Swamper tires on 16.5 rims. The suspension rides at stock height so it is very smooth. It runs down the freeway at 70 mph very comfortably. The interior is amazing. It has heated leather seats and seating for 8 people with plenty of room for cargo in the back. It is well equipped with a nice sound system including subs and amps. The seats are very comfortable. It also has heat and air. All gauges work well. The top is fully removable and there is a full built in roll cage. The roof is lined with offroad lights, I think there are 12 lights total. The floor and doors are fully rhino lined so it is very to clean. Custom built bumpers front and rear and a full size spare tire. This is a very cool truck that runs and drives very well. Remember it is NOT a real Hummer. It handles better offroad than any Jeep or other vehicle I have ever driven. The wheelbase and width make it an ideal candidate for any type of offroad use. Automakers tussle over owners of 'orphan' makes
Thu, 10 May 2012When General Motors put down several of its brands in recent years, it also let loose thousands of brand-loyal customers who will eventually need another car.
R.L. Polk Associates estimates there are more than 18 million cars from 16 discontinued makes on the road today. Those "orphan owners" have sales-hungry competitors seeing dollar signs. GM is offering Saturn owners $1,000 cash toward a Chevy Cruze, Cadillac CTS or a GMC Acadia. Ford is giving its Mercury lease customers a chance to get out of their contracts with no early-termination penalty and offering to waive six remaining payments if they drive off in a Ford or Lincoln.
Edmunds.com research shows the efforts are paying off somewhat for GM, with 39 percent of Pontiac owners, 37 percent of Hummer owners and 31 percent of Saturn owners taking delivery of another GM-branded vehicle. But that leaves as much as 69 percent of owners going elsewhere. Ford, Honda and Toyota seem to be attracting many former GM owners.

Zero South, a company that popped up at SEMA in 2008, is back again with its Biodiesel Electric Hummer. The heavily modified H1 rides on tracks at all four corners - a necessary modification, since this Hummer is designed for an expedition to the South Pole.
The trip is going to be documented by Chris Paine, who's best known for the film Who Killed the Electric Car? It was reported back in 2008 that the vehicle was going to be driven by Buzz Aldrin and Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak. The film is called Drive Around the World and was shot in 3D. Drive Around the World is also the name of an organization that works to inspire an urge to explore while raising money for various charities. The H1 shown above is Zero South's vehicle for participating in these expeditions.
Report: Last-ditch sale effort for Hummer post wind-down announcement fading
Tue, 06 Apr 2010It's getting tough for even the most ardent supporters of the Hummer brand to continue to keep hope alive. Reports the aficionados at HummerGuy.net: "While many of us were hoping for a last-minute miracle to save the Hummer brand, signs from Detroit are indicating that Hummer production will soon cease indefinitely."
It appears as if General Motors has resigned itself to winding the brand down and letting it die a slow, agonizing death. The automaker says that it's no longer considering offers for the brand and dedicated Hummer staff are reportedly be assigned to serve elsewhere.
Oh, and about that "Save Hummer" summit that's planned for April 11th near Chicago? GM, though it is aware of the rally, has no plans to send representation. That sound that you hear? That's just the tolling of Hummer's death knell. Thanks for the tip, Brian!
