1969 Gmc Custom Truck on 2040-cars

I have a project 1969 GMC Custom Longbed Truck with a 350 engine. Truck is just about complete. I have a clean title, truck does turn over with no issue, I see almost no dents. Truck is A/C & Heater ready (meaning it is already installed on truck) & has the big glass back window.
I do not want to sell, but I am way too busy to work on, with classes, full time work (I am an accountant), & studying for my CPA (Certified Public Accountant) Exams, plus I have a 3 year old little girl that DEMANDS/COMMANDS all my attention. :) The only BADs: * Carburetor needs to be rebuilt. * Gas tank needs cleaning. (estimates about $100.00+/- for any local shops to professional clean) (note this truck has a 2nd gas tank that is working fine that I re-routed the gas lines to so truck will run) * Whoever last had truck - jacked up the wiring - needs to be re-done. (Complete wire harness from LMC magazine is about $600.00+/-) * Tires need to be replaced. (estimates about $25.00 a tire for good used tires at any local used tire shops) - (still has all 4 original GMC hubcaps) * Drum Brakes are shot. (estimates about $400+/- for any local shop to convert to discs). Other than that just need outside mirrors, a paint job, and maybe some interior work done. I have original door covers, arm covers, rearview mirror, carburetor cover, seat belts. Again this truck is amazing - Chevys are a dime a dozen, Fords are everywhere, the old Dodge's body tend to bend in the middle - these GMCs are more classic because not many were made opposed to their counterparts and with the double headlights (only trucks that have those) and this is also a Custom truck meaning even less of these were made; I could sell for much more since you can see other GMCs around the same year non-Customs are selling for a little less, the same, or more, but they have no engine/transmission and are all rusted and dented out. Mine turns over with ease, I have listed all the main issues, & it was supposed to be my Zompacolypse get-way machine. Come check it out and we can talk about price all day, but I need to know it is getting a place unlike mine where it has sat for over a year. 2015 GMC Yukon and Yukon XL hit the floor at LA
Thu, 21 Nov 2013The middle child of General Motors' trio of truck-based SUVs, the GMC Yukon and long-wheelbase Yukon XL, received their auto show debut at today's 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show. Showing off a bigger, bolder look, particularly on its Denali trim, the Yukon sports prominent chrome grille instantly identifies GMC's new top-end SUV.
The Yukon is will come to market with a pair of engines. The base 5.3-liter V8 pumps out 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque, while the higher-end models benefit from the same direct-injected, 6.2-liter V8 as the Escalade. That engine makes 420 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque, with fuel economy seeing a likely boost thanks to an active fuel management system. Like the Tahoe, Suburban and Escalade, the Yukon takes advantage of a six-speed, column-mounted automatic transmission.
The cabin has seen significant upgrades in terms of materials and technology, with an eight-inch touchscreen display and IntelliLink standard in both Yukon and Yukon Denali. Fold-flat second and third-row seats come standard, while a power option is available, as well. Other techy features include active noise cancellation and standard Bose stereos.
Chevy Express 1500, GMC Savana 1500 get the axe
Tue, 15 Jul 2014Fans of truck-based, light-duty vans can officially pour one out for the Chevrolet Express 1500 and GMC Savana 1500, as General Motors has officially put its long-serving big/little rigs out to pasture. Things aren't quite as sad as they sound, though. The heavier-duty 2500 and 3500 vans will soldier on, in order to duke it out with the largest members of Ram ProMaster, Ford Transit and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter families.
The move does seem to make a lot of sense. According to GM, customers only purchase the 1500-spec Chevrolet 23 percent of the time, while the GMC captures a mere 7 percent of the Savana family's sales. With numbers like that, it's no shock that GM thinks it can shift some of its buyers into its van family's more capable variants. "We knew we could move a lot of our 1500 customers into 2500-series territory," said GM's Joe Langhauser, the product manager for the company's full-size vans.
It's not just simple sales figures dictating the move, though. The 1500 line is taking up some valuable factory space that will be better spent on an eagerly anticipated new product.
GM's fullsize SUVs boost highway mileage by nearly 10 percent
Wed, 26 Feb 2014We met the redesigned 2015 versions of the Chevrolet Suburban and Tahoe, and the GMC Yukon and Yukon XL at the 2013 LA Auto Show. Improved gas mileage numbers have been announced to go along with the improved exteriors and interiors, with city mileage improving by seven percent and highway mileage going up by nearly ten percent; you'll now get 16 miles per gallon in the city and 23 on the highway.
The only applies to models with the 5.3-liter engine, though, not the premium Yukon Denali and Yukon XL Denali SUVs with the 6.2-liter motor. Still, the 5.3 gets you more power than previously, with 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque underfoot, on top of the improved fuel economy numbers. The 6.2-liter sticks with official mpg ratings of 15 highway, 21 city. There's a brief press release below with words straight from the horse's mouth.
