Hello. Up for auction is this USED 1996 GMC SAFARI PASSENGER WHITE PASSENGER VAN. It has only 125,456 actual miles on engine. Van has an excellent powerful V-6 engine and automatic transmission! The very best part of this van is its engine! The engine is very strong with no smoke or noise! Just press the gas and this baby moves you FAST! It has a white exterior and blue cloth interior. The paint has some surface rust, especially on the roof, but could be easily cleaned with a little sandpaper and spray paint. The body has no major body damage! Interior dash is damaged and need to be replaced, the seats and the rest of the interior is in good condition! There is no radio, need battery, all tires are worn! Please note: This vehicle need a fly-wheel and starter to be drivable! This is a cheap junkyard replacement part i recently priced at around $39 for the flywheel. I could even have this done for you for an added fee! The current flywheel on van is killing the starter, so the flywheel must be replaced first! However I have a guarantee on the current starter on the van, so I will provide a new starter from AUTOZONE (not installed) with the sell of this vehicle! Yes, i can even install the starter too, but the damaged flywheel will kill starter after cranking vehicle a few times! THE VEHICLE IS BEING SOLD AS IS WITH NO WARRANTY! GMC boss wants a Jeep Wrangler rival
Wed, 12 Nov 2014Challengers come and challengers go, but the Jeep Wrangler continues to push forward even after vehicles like the Toyota FJ Cruiser and the entire Hummer brand have been shut down. Now GMC reportedly wants to take a stab at the quintessential Jeep, as well.
The news comes directly from Buick-GMC vice president Duncan Aldred, speaking with our compatriots over at Edmunds. Although Aldred said there are no plans currently on the table to expand GMC's lineup beyond the current range, "there is plenty of room everywhere in the hierarchy."
That could include a rival to the Wrangler, as well as a flagship luxury SUV positioned above the current Yukon Denali (pictured above). Just when (or for that matter, if) such models might come into fruition remains a big question mark, but it's certainly interesting to see what GM's dedicated truck brand has on the drawing board.
GM recalling Silverado and Sierra HD diesel pickups over fuel gauge follies
Fri, 03 Jan 2014General Motors is recalling 9,733 of its heavy-duty twins over concerns with their 6.6-liter diesel engines and dual fuel tanks. The recall covers some Chevrolet Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD pickups from model years 2012 and 2013, although the exact dates that the recalled trucks were built isn't specified. There's also no mention of how many models come from Chevrolet and how many are from GMC.
The problem rests with the transfer pump responsible for moving fuel from the rear tank to the front tank - it could fail, resulting in an inaccurate fuel gauge. It hardly requires explaining, but a faulty fuel gauge could leave drivers in a situation where they run out of diesel.
GM will begin notifying customers of affected vehicles, who will be asked to report to their dealers for a free replacement transfer pump.
GM 6.2L EcoTec V8 rated at 21 mpg by the EPA
Wed, 02 Oct 2013General Motors is already laying claim to best-in-class power for its new 6.2-liter V8 that will be offered in the 2014 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra this fall, and now it has released fuel economy numbers for the big engine. Available as an option on the Silverado LTZ and High Country (shown above) models as well as the the Sierra SLT and Denali trims, the 6.2L EcoTec3 V8 will return 15 miles per gallon in the city and 21 mpg on the highway on rear-wheel-drive trucks; these numbers drop by one mpg each on four-wheel-drive models.
These estimates are in addition to the engine's 420 horsepower, 460 pound-feet of torque and max trailering capacity of 12,000 pounds, and considering all that power it's not terribly far away from the fuel economy of GM's equally new 4.3-liter V6 and its rating of 18 mpg city and 24 mpg highway. This announcement comes just days after a report indicated that GM is unable to keep up with the demand of the 5.3-liter V8 in the fullsize Chevy and GMC trucks due to supplier issues.
