I USED A NEW POS SEPERATOR PLATE FROM CHINA AND IT MISALINGED THE STARTER WHICH DAMAGED THE FLEX PLATE TEETH AND MAY HAVE BENT IT.....IT SUPPOSE YOU COULD TRY TO FIX IN CAR BUT I DOUBT IT......IF YOU HAVE A LIFT OR ARE STILL YOUNG AND STRONG COULD PUT IT UP ON JACK STANDS YOU CAN TAKE THE TRANS OUT AND GET TO THE FLEX PLATE TO CHANGE IT FAIRLY EASY......BUT I'M IN MY LATE 60S AND JUST DO FEEL OR WANT TO SCREW AROUND...I DREAD THE THOUGHT OF LAYING ON MY BACK SOAKED IN TRANNY FLUID AND DROPPING THE TRANS ON MY HEAD !!!!!!!!!!!YOU CAN ALSO TAKE THE MOTOR/TRANS OUT TOGEATHER WHICH IS ACTUALLY NOT A BIG JOB PROBABLY COULD DO IN LESS THAN A DAY BUT AGAIN THIS OLD HOT ROD HAS ME BEAT UP.........I GUESS IT TIME FOR A NICE 40-70 DRIVER TYPE FULL BODIED TYPE FORD/MERC...SO I WOULD TRADE FOR A NICE BODY/FRAME FORD/MERC/MAVERICK/FALCON/FAIRLANE...LIKE I SAID I'VE GOT ABOUT 16K CASH IN THE T AND IT'S SAFE.......

PICTURES DON'T SHOW BUT BODY HAS LOTS OF POCK MARKS.......ALL IN ALL IT'S A SOLID BODY....YOU COULD SKIM IT IF YOU WANTED......

On Sep-24-14 at 06:45:14 PDT, seller added the following information:

THE FLOORS ARE ALL 3/4" GOOD PLYWOOD...........NOW TIME FOR SOME GOOD NEWS.......I JUST TOOK THE STARTER OUT AND THE FLEX PLATE LOOKS OK......I TOOK PICS AND POSTED PICS OF THE STARTER THAT SHOW HOW IT GOT EATEN BY THE FLEX PLATE WHEN IT WAS INSTALLED WITH THE POS ENG/TRANS PLATE......SO I CUT PART OF THE PLATE OFF THAT CAUSED THE MISALINEMENT . THE PORTION OF THE PLATE WITH THE BOLT HOLES IS STILL PART OF THE PLATE SO THE STARTER WILL HAVE THE CORRECT SPACING/OFF SET. AND I HAVE A THE SAME MATERIAL TO MAKE A SHIM ........BUT AS WITH ANYTHING ...IT WAS AND IS.....AS IS........

Does the new 2015 Ford Mustang have a burnout control system?

Tue, 10 Dec 2013

Whether it's lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring or automatic emergency braking, most of the electronic systems we see emerging on new vehicles focus on safety. But there are some there just for enthusiasts. We're talking about systems like automatic throttle blipping for perfect downshifts, or launch control to get that textbook acceleration from a standstill. But the latest system could prove just the opposite of the latter.
Although it has given us most of the details, Ford is still keeping certain elements of its new Mustang secret. But emerging reports may have the skinny on one system which Ford is trying is darnedest to keep under its hat for the time being. That, according to unnamed sources cited by Motor Authority, is burnout control.
The system is reportedly designed to help novices execute the perfect smokey burnout - sort of like launch control, but specifically the opposite. The system could, according to elaborative speculation, lock the front brakes while spooling up the engine to optimal revolutions before dumping (or indicating the driver to do dump) the clutch. A cloud of tire smoke and a long pair of skid marks would then ensue.

First retail 2015 Ford Mustang headed to Barrett-Jackson

Fri, 20 Dec 2013

Want to be the very first person to own a 2015 Ford Mustang GT? Here's what you'll need to do: be in Scottsdale, AZ on January 18 for the Barrett-Jackson auction and bring a very big checkbook. Having a passion for charity isn't a bad idea either.
Yes, the first 2015 Mustang to be sold to the public will be crossing the block at Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale, with proceeds from the auction going to JDRF, the charity formerly known as the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
"Ford Mustangs have always been among the most popular collector cars at Barrett-Jackson Collector Car events," said the president of Barrett-Jackson, Steve Davis. "While every collector wishes they had snapped up the first Mustang sold in 1964, this is an opportunity to realize that dream in a different way."
