1961 Ford F-100 Pickup Truck U.s. Air Force on 2040-cars
San Clemente, California, United States
I am re-listing my 1961 Ford F-100 truck with a lowered reserve. I have completed the following work: the new headliner will be replaced by auction end, replaced sun visors, battery, battery cables, new battery hold down bracket, driver side arm rest, new Coker truck tires, sand blasted Ford wheels painted in the correct Air Force blue, installed excellent painted correct Ford hubcaps, new lug nuts on all four wheels, new reproduction rubber floor mat, new reproduction chrome outside mirror. I have done some touch up painting on the body to add color to grey primer areas. Included in the sale of this truck are four custom wheels and tires with over 50% tread remaining. I have included a picture of the wheels and tires. Also included are oak bed rails as shown in one of the photographs. I have cleaned and detailed the engine compartment. This truck runs excellent and stops well. You can drive it right now. The steering is somewhat hard at this point and I would recommend that the steering gear box be rebuilt or replaced. The windshield has a small crack on the drivers side but it is not in the field of view. In addition, there are a few rock chips in the glass, nothing serious. The engine runs cool and the instruments work with the exception of the odometer. It broke a couple of months ago so the mileage is slightly higher than 48,303. Mileage appears to be original and mostly military miles. This truck could be restored, customized, make a shop truck or rat rod it. Very straight and easy restore. Please contact me with any questions you may have regarding this truck. My name is Arnie and I can be reached at (949) 573-1139. The truck is currently licensed in CA and has no back DMV fees due. A $500.00 non-refundable deposit is required within 48 hours of the auction close. You may contact me to make final payment arrangements after the close of the auction. Please note that I am only accepting US bidders at this time, I am not set up to sell outside the country at this time. There are no warranties expressed or implied on this vehicle. The truck is being sold in "as is"; "where is" condition. Transportation of this truck to the winning bidders location is the responsibility of the winner. I can assist with the loading of the truck. Thank you for looking at my auction and good luck. |

GM already raising prices on 2014 Silverado and Sierra pickups
Mon, 14 Oct 2013General Motors must be pretty pleased with sales of its two newest pickups, the GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado, as it's announced price hikes for both models, as part of a planned price tweak.
Prices will be bumped by as much as $1,500, although weirdly, they'll be offset by as much as $1,500 in cash-back offers through the end of October. Fox Business reports that GM spokesman Jim Cain said of the price hike, "With the sell down of the '13 models nearly complete, this price adjustment was planned and is a normal part of business."
The move, as Fox is quick to point out, is an interesting one, as sales of the twin pickups struggled last month relative to the Ford F-Series, while both of GM's crosstown competitors have been aggressively undercutting Silverado and Sierra prices. The F-150 starts at $24,070 and the Ram 1500 comes in at $23,600, not counting any cash on the hood. A base Silverado, meanwhile, retails at $25,575.
2014 Ford Fusion to get 1.5L EcoBoost three-cylinder?
Tue, 09 Apr 2013Just one year after launching the all-new 2013 Fusion, Ford is reportedly set to alter the sedan's powertrain lineup with the addition of a new 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder EcoBoost engine. A member of Blue Oval Forums apparently got their hands on the ordering guide for the 2014 model year Fusion, and this 1.5-liter mill is set to be introduced with late availability.
This lines up with other news about the Chinese-market Mondeo being offered with a new 1.5-liter EcoBoost - a derivative of the 1.0-liter triple that will come to North America under the hood of the Fiesta (note: the 1.0 is also offered in the current Euro-spec Mondeo). In the Chinese application, the larger three-pot engine produces 177 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque, which is very close to the current 1.6-liter inline-four's output numbers of 178 hp and 184 lb-ft.
What's interesting, however, is that the 1.6-liter engine will reportedly still be offered in the Fusion, but only with the six-speed manual transmission. The smaller 1.5-liter EcoBoost will only be mated to a six-speed SelectShift automatic, and will feature start/stop. This means that while the 1.5 is slightly down on power compared to the 1.6, it could easily improve fuel economy numbers, allowing the Fusion to regain the title of having the best mileage in the segment, likely besting the 38 miles per gallon of the Nissan Altima. Currently, the Fusion 1.6 is rated at 23 mpg city and 36 mpg highway.
Focus STs for SEMA include Lotus and Gulf liveries, rally-fied police car
Tue, 22 Oct 2013Ford, as we mentioned on Saturday, is pulling out all the stops for November's SEMA show, bringing 57 vehicles to the Las Vegas event. Ford will be staggering the release of its SEMA flotilla, though, so expect to hear a lot about the new additions to the fleet in the weeks to come. We already showed you the Fiesta, Fiesta ST and Mustang models that made up the first batch of SEMA cars. Next up, we have a quartet of modded Focus STs joining Ford's SEMA roster.
Our first Focus ST (pictured above) sports the legendary livery of Gulf Racing. The orange-on-blue scheme, which Ford helped make famous at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, has been updated for 2013, with a more vibrant blue. This ST was built by Universal Technical Institute, while the exterior was done by Neil Tjin of Tjin Edition. Side exhausts, a Vortech supercharger and a Motiv Concepts high-flow cat allow the ST to breathe a bit easier, while Forgestar wheels contrast well with the iconic paint scheme.
Focus ST number two has been done-up by PM Lifestyle and is inspired by "Southern California car culture." Sporting a sleek, pale blue paint job, there's also no shortage of carbon fiber on the car's exterior. The 2.0-liter, turbocharged, four-cylinder engine has been massaged by the likes of Banks Power, COBB Tuning and Ford Racing, while the suspension is wearing a shiny, new set of coilovers and sway bars. The meaty brakes, tucked behind 19-inch, Rotiform wheels, come from Wilwood, while the cabin has been fitted with a pair of Sparco Chrono seats and five-point, Schroth harnesses.
