Dodge W200 4x4 (like Power Wagon) on 2040-cars

Year:1973 Mileage:100000
Location:

Pilot Hill, California, United States

Pilot Hill, California, United States

This is your atypical awesome farm truck.  It's a 1973 W200 with four wheel drive, a 318, and a granny gear 4-speed (manual transmission).  It has Dana 44 and 60 axles (eight lug), both of which lock for positraction; they are also geared appropriately for the tire height.  The engine runs great, but is indeed old; it burns a bit of oil, and it leaks, but it is totally dependable.  It does not smoke, but the valvetrain can clatter a bit when it's hot.  All driveline components work excellently; I use the four wheel drive at least once a month, and have installed new Warn premium hubs.  The transfer case, transmission, clutch, and axles are in great shape, from the center sections to the brakes to the drive shafts.

The following parts have been replaced in the last 2.5 years or so:  steering box, carburetor, intake manifold, muffler, front hubs, rear drive shaft, u-joints, brakes, alternator, stereo.  There's probably something else...

The tires/wheels:  37x13-inch Toyo Open Country (50-65% left) on 17 inch aluminum rims.

Suspension:  5.5 inch blocks in rear/6-inch springs in front.  Shocks are so old (but work) that I can't tell what they are anymore.  I've only had the truck about two years...

This truck rides very smoothly and quietly, and is very comfortable on the freeway.  Everything works, from the lights to the heater; it has power steering and brakes, and turns and stops with minimal effort.  It'll get you about 10-12 miles per gallon...

The floor pans in the cab have some rust, but if you want this truck, you should be handy.  The glass is all good, and the bed is solid.  I have mainly used this truck for things like firewood, gravel hauling, and trips to Home Depot, along with four-wheeling around my property, with the occasional 100-mile round trip.  It rides like an old pickup, and can easily haul a ton in the bed.  I've just gotten a new pickup to consolidate vehicles a bit, so this one has to go.  The truck makes fans everywhere it goes.  Feel free to ask questions.

Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you

Thu, 21 Feb 2013

As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.

Dodge Journey gets more SUV-like look with new Crossroad model

Fri, 31 Jan 2014

Looking to play up its aging three-row crossover, Dodge will introduce a new model for its Journey franchise at next week's Chicago Auto Show. The 2014 Dodge Journey Crossroad will be a new trim level positioned between the SXT and Limited, and it will be distinguished from other Journey models thanks to a handful of styling add-ons.
Plucking a page right out of the appearance playbook of the Ford Explorer Sport, the Journey Crossroad gets a meaner, more SUV-like demeanor. The Journey has often straddled the line between tall wagon and crossover, but this new trim goes a long way toward skewing its visuals toward the utility vehicle end of the spectrum. That's thanks largely to the Platinum chrome exterior trim on its roof rails and side sills, unique fascias, smoked headlights and taillights and, of course, those black 19-inch wheels. Inside, the Journey Crossroad will get a similar treatment, with darker, Liquid Graphite accents throughout the cabin, and the model will also come standard with leather seats (which Dodge says are a new design), and Chrysler's giant 8.4-inch Uconnect screen.
The 2014 Journey Crossroad goes on sale this spring with a starting price of $24,995 (*not including $995 for destination) for the four-cylinder, front-wheel-drive model, but Dodge says that the model will also be offered with more power and capability from the optional 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 and all-wheel-drive. Scroll down for the full press release, and check back next week for our live coverage from Chicago.

2015 Dodge Charger priced from $27,995, Hellcat from $63,995*

Sun, 19 Oct 2014

Ladies and gentlemen, let's get the most salient bit of information out of the way right off the bat: $63,995*. That's the amount of money Dodge dealers will be asking for (at the very least, naturally) for a 2015 Charger Hellcat (*plus $995 for destination on all pricing figures). That rather reasonable sum will bring home its buyer a 6.2-liter Hemi V8 engine boasting a supercharger to post such gaudy figures as 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque, leading to a top speed of 204 miles per hour to go along with an NHRA-certified quarter-mile time of 11.0 seconds.
With that out of the way, the rest of the 2015 Dodge Charger pricing information breaks down as follows: $27,995 will deliver a sedan with a 292-horsepower 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Moving up one step of the ladder nets the buyer an SXT model with the same engine, but a nicer chunk of technology and optional equipment for a $2,000 premium. All-wheel drive adds another $3,000. Hemi V8-powered R/T models now boast an eight-speed transmission bolted to the same well-loved 370-horsepower engine as before, for a base price of $32,995.
The SRT 392 model that had hitherto been the top-performing Charger brings with it an asking price of $47,385 while bargain hunters can equip a Charger R/T Scat Pack machine with that same 485-horsepower 6.4-liter Hemi, albeit with somewhat less posh interior bits and pieces, the removal of the 392's adjustable suspension and hi-po wheel and tire package for $39,995.
