FOR SALE: 1958 Dodge Power Wagon Ambulance, M42.  Enjoy this incredible MASH truck, restored by Legacy Classic Trucks in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.  Restoration was completed two years ago and the truck was been very well maintained.  It runs perfectly and has tons of power thanks to a 3.9 Liter Cummins 4BT Turbo-Diesel engine and NV4500 5-Speed Manual Transmission.  Power gets to the ground via an Atlas Transfercase, 4.89 gears, and a rear Locking Differential.  The steering is tight and has been converted to power.  The truck is equipped with front disk brakes and has a dual circuit master cylinder.  There is also a transfercase case mounted disk emergency brake.  The Power Wagon has been converted to 12 Volt and all electrical systems and lights are in good working order.  The truck is rolling on 17" steel MRW wheels and 37x12.50r17 Goodyear MT/R tires.  The engine is inter cooled and the truck has Vintage Air Air Conditioning.  She will cruise at a top speed of 65 mph all day long.  The Cummins has a very mild tune and tops out at 2400 rpm.  Very minimal smoke as well.  The rear of the Ambulance is in great condition.  It has a massive amount of storage under the bench seats.  You can configure the truck to have two side facing bench seats that sit 10 people.  There are also 4 gurneys that have been converted into simple beds, so the truck can sleep 4 people.  Finishing touches include New Vintage gauges, including Boost and EGT.  The truck will get 20mpg and has ample power for towing and pull long grades.  Some squeaking was noted from the rear drums, but should dissipate with more driving.  This is a great truck for road trips, camping, and Zombie Attacks!  If you have any questions please email or call 307-734-6500.  Thank you, Legacy Classic Trucks

2014 Dodge Durango

Wed, 25 Sep 2013

Say what you want about the Dodge Durango, but ever since it came on the scene in 1998, it has occupied its own niche in the SUV market - not too small, not too big, tough, able, not always the best on the road and not always the best off-road. If it were a football player, it would be a tight-end that can block and catch. If it were a hamburger - a double burger with cheese and bacon, but not the Whopper.
As part of a mid-cycle upgrade for what was already a very capable SUV that Chrysler introduced in 2011, and built on the same platform as the Mercedes GL-Class and Jeep Grand Cherokee, the 2014 Durango has gotten some refinements worth noting that have cleaned up its tailoring and toned up its body and powerplant. The result is an SUV that shows itself to be a very good value in a category full of sticker prices that can run away faster than a kid who's been told he has to take ballroom dancing lessons.
Chrysler executives showing us the new Durango made a special point to reiterate that the Dodge brand is not going away, as has been rumored after the company took the Ram and Viper - the cream of the brand - out from under the Dodge umbrella. Turns out Dodge has been the brand attracting the most young people (who knew?) and has a younger average age buyer than Honda. The Dodge brand historically has also attracted buyers who aren't exactly Phi-Beta Cappa, which some companies worry about. Chrysler not so much. Dodge buyers tend to be more the working, high-school-educated, community-college-educated backbone of the work force in America. If they keep coming to Dodge, the Durango is a pretty good piece of hardware to save up for.

11 vehicles from Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas worth watching

Fri, 26 Sep 2014

This weekend will see the world's collector car crowds descend on Las Vegas, NV for one of the biggest shows on Barrett-Jackson's popular auction circuit. There are hundreds of vehicles up for bidding, ranging from a brand-new Lamborghini Aventador to a spattering of Art Deco classics and a huge swath of classic muscle cars.
While it's virtually impossible to assemble an inarguable list of the best cars coming during the three-day, 700-plus vehicle auction, we've sifted through the listings for this year's show - it was a tough assignment, we promise - and assembled a list of what we think will be some of the most interesting lots. We'll admit, it's a bit heavy on American iron, but if you browse BJ's listings, you'll come to a similar conclusion. Still, scroll down for our list of what we think will be the most interesting vehicles at the upcoming auction.

Old vs. New: 2014 SRT Viper takes on upgraded 16-year-old Dodge Viper

Fri, 08 Feb 2013

It's easy to play the "Would you rather have a New X or an Old Y with a bunch of upgrades?" game more often than we care to admit, but the crew at Car and Driver have taken bench racing to the next level with their latest video. In it, the magazine pits a brand-new 2014 SRT Viper against a highly modified 1997 Dodge Viper GTS. There are 16 years between the time this particular GTS rolled off the production line and when the new car bowed, but that doesn't mean the old snake's owners have been sitting on their hands.
Thanks to a spate of modifications, the GTS offers up a better power to weight ratio than the new machine, but is that enough to overcome the technological leap forward represented by the 2014 Viper? We won't spoil it for you. You'll just have to check out the full clip below for yourself.
