CONTACT JEFF AT 570 977 0741. Up for sale and your consideration is a very rare 1963 Chrysler Imperial Crown Convertible that is a turn key car that can be enjoyed immediately upon the day of purchase. Please take the time to look over all 24 photos here on the auction. I have many more photos of the car should a prospective buyer request them. Although not a 100 point show car, it has great curb appeal and is priced well below current market value. Only 531 of this model vehicle was produced and it is unknown how many are still in existence. Since the vehicle was purchased pretty much as you see it, my description and summary is based on a complete physical inspection, servicing of the car, driving the car, and conversation with the previous owner. In person viewings by appointment are welcomed and encouraged for those who have any doubts about the overall condition of this vehicle.
NUMBERS:
Data plate indicates this vehicle was built on December 7th, 1962 at the Detroit plant. Paint code WW-1 indicates this car was originally Oyster White with a black interior (code 956). It is powered by a code T-41 413 cubic inch engine and a torqueflite automatic transmission. Carburetor is the Carter AFB four barrel with # 3256A. Rear axle ratio is 2:93
OPTIONS:
6 way power seat that works. Power windows that all work.  FACTORY WORKING A/C converted to R-134A. Power steering and brakes. Tinted glass. Remote control side view mirror. Aftermarket AM/FM stereo. I have the original radio which will go with the car.
EXTERIOR:
Car was repainted somewhere along the way. The color is kind of an Ivory White with a bit of yellow tint. There is evidence of some rust repair in the rocker panel areas, and small spots forward and rear of rear wheel openings.
INTERIOR:
Seats, carpet, door panels and dash are in very nice condition, and have been redone in a garnet red color.
TRUNK:
Trunk is in nice condition with it's original black carpeting. Original jack and spare tire are intact.
UNDERCARRIAGE:
The underside of this vehicle has been preserved due to undercoating when new or close to new judging by the aging. No rust was found on the undercarriage and exhaust and components appear to be in good condition.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT:
Engine and all components are clean but not dressed up with rattle can spray paint. All components appear to be intact.
GENERAL CONDITION:
This is a #3 car with a nice general appearance that would be a hit at any car show or cruise. Due to it's rarity it's what I refer to as a "show me another one" car.
IMPROVEMENTS:
I have in hand over $11,000.00 in bonafide receipts for parts and labor on this vehicle. Brake system rebuild including master cylinder, brakes, wheel cylinders, brake lines and hoses. Front end rebuild including springs, ball joints, tie rods, idler arm bushings, power steering pump, steering box, shocks and upper a-arm bushings. Cooling system overhauled including a re-cored radiator, new water pump, new fan clutch, new fan belts and fresh coolant. A/C system overhauled including a rebuilt and converted A/C clutch compressor and new pressure hose. A new fuel pump was installed. A new voltage regulator was installed. The left side exhaust manifold and gaskets were replaced. Exhaust was replaced. A new rear driveshaft U-Joint and pinion seal was installed. New seat belts were installed. Battery is new. Tires are in like new condition with the small rubber tips still on the tread. The power convertible top pump was replaced as well as the hoses and switch. Power top operates very well going up and down. The car has been driven very few miles since installation of these parts. The only items that the car needs is all the interior lights don't work. the gas gauge and odometer don't work. The back up lights don't work. The car has just been completely tuned and serviced including new spark plugs, new spark plug wires, new distributor cap, points and rotor, new gas filter, new air filter, oil and filter change, lube all grease fittings, and check all fluid levels. It is in turn key and drive home condition.
VALUE & PRICE:
I have two appraisals for this car in hand. One was prepared by Auto Appraisals Unlimited INC. in New York on 10/31/2010 and it states this car has a fair market value of $33,500.00. The other appraisal was prepared on 9/14/2011 by William Anderson. A respected appraiser with offices in New york and Maryland. With a long list of qualifications on his resume including AACA Judge, Buick Club Master Judge, Cadillac-LaSalle Club Judge, and award winning author of automotive books as well as a regular columnist for Old Car's Weekly and the Review. His value sources were the Old Car's Price Guide and the Black Book CPI. These are considered to be the only accurate guides since they are based on the actual selling prices of vehicles and not their asking prices. Anderson's appraisal came in at $27,000.00 based on the car's needs. This was also a 2011 value. The current 2013 fair market value of this car in #3 condtion according to the Old Car's price guide is over $35,000.00 The #2 value of this car is $55,000.00 and the #1 value of this car is listed at $78,000.00 This is an investment quality vehicle that is being offered at a price well below current market value. The goal is to sell the car. Besides being a solid investment for a collector, it's also an opportunity for a restorer looking for a nice return. There is even a lot of meat left on the bone for the flippers. Low ballers and traders need not even respond. I'm looking for a real car person who is well versed on the value and potential of this vehicle. Included with the sale of the car is some very important documentation to accompany this car. An original 1963 Imperial Owners Guide and Manual s well as an original Owners Service Certificate book. Also Included is a 1963 Imperial Dealer full size color brochure. Next is a copied full length comprehensive book excerpt article on the Postwar Chrysler Imperials. Also included is both of the vehicle appraisals as well as all receipts for all the work completed. Lastly is an original 1963 Chrysler Imperial Service Manual that is several hundred pages thick. This is a very comprehensive and thorough collection of documentation.
Please review and check my 100% positive feedback and buy with confidence.  After reading the entire description and looking at all 24 photos, feel free to ask any and all questions on the car. I have accurately and honestly described this car to the best of my knowledge, based on a complete physical inspection, servicing and driving this car and also conversation with the previous owner. Again if any prospective buyer has any questions as to the condition or integrity of this vehicle, I highly encourage and welcome the opportunity to show this car in person by appointment. This car is sold in AS-IS condition with no actual or implied warranty or guarantee.  I have in hand a clean title for this '63 Chrysler ready for transfer to the new owner. I will be happy to recommend previously used shippers. I will also be happy to reasonably assist in the appointment set-up, pick-up and loading of the car. My contact # is listed at the top and bottom of this ad to make it very easy for any prospective buyer to reach me.  So lastly any questions please don't hesitate to CONTACT JEFF AT 570 977 0741.  Thanks and good luck !

Chrysler killing off the 200 Convertible, Dodge Avenger

Sun, 23 Feb 2014

When Chrysler rolled out the first-generation 200 to replace the Sebring range in 2010, it included replacements for both the sedan and the convertible. The Sebring Coupe, however, was left out of the mix. And now that the second-generation Chrysler 200 is descending upon us, Auburn Hills is paring things down even further. But this time, it's the convertible that reportedly isn't making the cut. Shame, too, since the rendering above shows what could have been quite an attractive droptop.
As our compatriots at Edmunds point out, sales of the convertible model accounted for less than five percent of overall Chrysler 200 sales, and at those numbers, the considerable cost of engineering a new drop-top couldn't be justified. With the Toyota Camry Solara and Volkswagen Eos also gone from the market (well, the VW isn't gone quite yet), the discontinuation of the Chrysler 200 Convertible leaves the affordable convertible segment largely to the sportier likes of the Ford Mustang and Chevy Camaro and smaller European offerings like the Mini Cooper and VW Beetle.
The Chrysler 200 Convertible isn't the only derivative being left behind with the new model: so too is the Dodge Avenger. That will leave a glaring hole in the Dodge lineup, with nothing to bridge the gap between the compact Dart and the larger Charger. Whether the Dodge brand has any plans to replace the Avenger with another model, not to be based on the 200, remains to be seen.

Chrysler recalling 31k SUVs and vans

Fri, 06 Jun 2014

Chrysler is issuing recalls covering roughly 31,700 vehicles worldwide due to two separate problems. In both cases the company believes that most of the affected vehicles are either still on, or in transit to, dealer lots.
One recall covers roughly 10,700 Dodge Durango, Jeep Cherokee, Grand Cherokee and Grand Cherokee SRT models from the 2014 model year built between January 16 and April 17, 2014. The SUVs need a software update for the cruise control. It's possible that when the cruise is on and the driver presses on the throttle, the acceleration could last a second after the pedal is released or two seconds for the SRT. Afterward, they return to the speed originally set by the driver.
Chrysler says it isn't aware of any accidents, injuries or even reported incidents of this happening in the real world. Also, in all cases, if the driver presses on the brake, the cruise shuts off. The automaker believes that there are about 6,100 affected SUVs in the US, 950 in Canada, 425 in Mexico and 3,200 outside of North America. The software upgrade will be ready shortly, the company says.

Has Dodge stepped in it again with Scat Pack lawsuit?

Mon, 20 Oct 2014

Lawsuits are an unfortunate part of doing business in just about any industry, so the latest complaint filed by a California-based aftermarket firm against Chrysler would seem to be nothing more than business as usual. But this isn't the first time the two companies have sparred over this particular issue.
According to a report from Automotive News, the dispute revolves around the Scat Pack name that Chrysler first offered on the Charger, Coronet, Dart and Super Bee starting in 1968. Scat Enterprises, a manufacturer of crankshafts and other components for Dodges and other vehicles, sued Chrysler for using its name. A few years later the Scat Pack disappeared from the Dodge catalog.
Fast forward to August 2013 when Chrysler applied to register the Scat Pack name anew. The US Patent and Trademark Office turned down Chrysler's application, but the automaker proceeded anyway, unveiling new Scat Packs for the Challenger, Charger and Dart at last year's SEMA show.
