1967 CHEVY MALIBU CHEVELLE

CHECK OUT THIS HAPPY YELLOW HOT ROD!

THIS IS MY RUNNING, DRIVING PROJECT THAT I HAD BIG DREAMS FOR, BUT STUFF HAPPENS.

IT HAS A 283 MOTOR, RUNS REALLY GOOD, NEWLY REBUILT POWERGLIDE TRANSMISSION THAT DRIVES GOOD, STOPS GOOD, POWER STEERING, NICE OLD SCHOOL DRIVER.

THE BODY IS IN PRETTY GOOD SHAPE.  IT DOES HAVE A DENT ON THE FRONT PASSENGER FENDER, A COUPLE OF SMALL RUST BUBBLES ON THE REAR LOWER PANEL, AND A COUPLE OF OTHER PLACES, ALL SHOWN IN THE PICTURES.  THE TRUNK IS RUST FREE AND THE FLOORS ARE RUST FREE AS SHOWN IN THE PICTURES.  THE PAINT HAS SOME CHIPS, SCRATCHES AND SCRAPES, BUT LOOKS GOOD ENOUGH FOR NOW.  I WAS SAVING TO PAINT IT BLUE LIKE THE ORIGINAL COLOR, BUT AGAIN, STUFF HAPPENS.  THE CAR HAS A NEW WIRING HARNESS AND THE DASH NEEDS NEW LIGHT SWITCH, WIPER SWITCH, AND SOME TRIM.  IT NEEDS A HEADLINER.  THE CAR HAS NEW CARPET AND DOOR PANELS.  IT LOOKS CLEAN BUT IT NEEDS TO BE FINISHED.

THIS IS A NICE CLEAN CAR.  ITS A GREAT CAR TO RESTORE.  IT HAS A CLEAN TITLE, NEEDS REGISTRATION.

I HAVE THE CAR LISTED LOCALLY FOR SALE FOR $10,500.  LOOK AT THE PICTURES, CALL IF YOU NEED MORE INFORMATION OR MAKE ME AN OFFER.

I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THE AUCTION EARLY FOR LOCAL SALE.  THE CAR IS BEING SOLD "AS IS".  SERIOUS BIDDERS ONLY PLEASE!

Why the Corvette's Performance Data Recorder can be illegal in some states

Fri, 26 Sep 2014

The Performance Data Recorder with Valet Mode available on the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray seems like a fantastic tool for many owners. Whether they are taking 720p video while lapping the track in their new 'Vette, or just want to protect their purchase from inconsiderate joyriders, the system offers a lot of functionality in one package. However, one of the PDR's features might get buyers in trouble with the law, and it has nothing to do with recording some illicit high-speed driving on a favorite back road. The problem hinges on the various state laws concerning a person's right to privacy.
According to a letter posted by Jalopnik, Chevy dealers are asking 2015 Corvette owners not to use the Valet Mode portion of the PDR because it records audio in the cabin, in addition to performance specs. That's a problem because privacy laws vary from state to state with some requiring just one side's consent to tape sound and others requiring all parties to agree. According Jalopnik, 15 states mandate everyone's permission beforehand, but it's not clear whether these numbers are up to date. (Actually, the report varies, saying 13 states in some places and 15 in a list.)
According to the letter, Chevy is already working on a software update for the near future to rectify the issue. It's possible that simply adding a warning to drivers and the ability to turn off the audio recording function in Valet Mode might solve the problem. Obviously, this doesn't preclude Corvette drivers from using the performance aspect of the PDR, and owners are free tape lap after lap at the track.

First 2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray spotted crashed in the wild

Tue, 12 Feb 2013

This restyled blue 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is wearing manufacturer plates, and it appears to be the same one seen around the internet in various pictures lately. This crash is likely not part of the Chevrolet testing regimen, however. Digital Corvettes forum member gpetry posted the shot with a note: "got this picture e-mailed from a friend in Arizona last week..." No circumstances are given, other than the incident occurred in the thick of a set of curvy roads, and the coupe ping-ponged off a guardrail and into the rock wall. Hopefully everyone involved in the incident walked away.
It may not be a pretty thing to see, a crashed sports car that's not even available for sale yet, but rest easy. Many pre-production cars are used for development and then unceremoniously crushed and scrapped, anyway. If that's the case here, that makes this wrecked 'Vette less of a tragedy and more of a case of exceptional efficiency.

Read This: Auto Extremist advocates for Corvette as brand with multiple models [w/poll]

Fri, 25 Jan 2013

The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette really grinds Peter De Lorenzo's gears. Or, more accurately, the self-anointed Auto Extremist has an issue with what he sees as mismanagement of the legendary sports car by General Motors executives. In a new editorial on his website, De Lorenzo argues it's time to split Corvette off from Chevrolet to create an all-new brand, complete with a model range with at least three new takes on the sports car. Capable of fully leveraging the successes of the Corvette Racing program and brandishing the full might of GM's technical prowess, the Corvette brand would theoretically give Porsche something to sweat over.
Sure, that sounds like a party, but given GM's troubled track record when it comes to launching (let alone managing) brands, we say that's slippery slope that could just as easily end with the whole Corvette franchise in the scrap bin. Either way, the notion is certainly an interesting one. Head over to Auto Extremist to take in the full editorial, and then let us know what you think in Comments. Should GM split off its most storied nameplate?
