True 1962 Chevy Impala SS 409 with Dual Quad carburetors. This 409 was rebuilt 10 years ago, it has logged 24,000 miles since completion. The Exterior is Ermine white (Trim code 936), the paint and exterior are in excellent condition showing a deep gloss finish. Has a great stance to it with the white wheels and factory dog dish hub caps. The engine stamp suffix is (T0216QB) born with the 409 V-8 with Dual 4-barrel carburetors producing 409-HP, man this Impala really moves, one of the fastest cars that I have ever owned, it screams down the road. The transmission is the correct factory Borg-Warner T-10 4-speed transmission, works perfectly through all gears, has fantastic torque and power. The rear end stamp is (BB 0118) 3.36 gears which makes it cruise nicely on the highway, I catch myself going 75-80 mph before I know it. This Impala is an SS Coupe with all the correct SS Badges, the (Trim Code 854) born with Aqua interior with Aqua bucket seats, Aqua console, Aqua passenger grab handle, Aqua carpet, Aqua door panels, Aqua headliner, Aqua dash (See Photos). This Impala SS comes with factory power steering and factory power disc brakes, it such a blast to drive and stops on a dime. We installed I did it tilt steering column, which just make it more comfortable, just adjust the steering column. It has new Sanderson headers with Flowmaster dual Exhaust it sounds great driving down the road. Wait until you get behind the wheel and feel this Heart Pumpin' idle, everybody will know you have the Legendary Big Block 409 under the hood. I purchased new fender skirts 4 years ago and never used them, still new and they will come with the car,

Chevrolet donates 300 vehicles damaged by Sandy to help train first responders

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

Super Storm Sandy took out a lot of automobiles in its path of destruction through the Northeast last October. The number surpassed 250,000 at last count, and a few of those were owned by Chevrolet - cars either sitting on dealership lots or waiting at port to be shipped off. Rendered unsellable by the water damage inflicted by Sandy, these vehicles were facing the crusher. But Chevy didn't send them there.
Instead, Chevy had a better idea: It will be donating 300 of these vehicles damaged by Sandy to help train first responders at Guardian Centers in Perry, GA. Chevy is the official automotive partner of Guardian Centers, which is an 830-acre facility that trains first responders in disaster preparedness. Junked cars are practically a consumable commodity there, where a full-size cityscape simulator gives trainees an entire urban center in which to train for all sorts of rescue operations and disaster scenarios.
Chevy says its particular vehicles will be used "in conjunction with role players for wide area searches, traffic congestion in emergency situations, counter terrorism, public order and mass casualty exercises." While grim scenarios all, we're certainly glad there are people out there preparing for the unexpected. While a zombie apocalypse isn't officially on the list of potential disasters to prepare for, when the virus hits, we'll be hot-footing it to Perry, GA to hang with these guys and gals.

Chevy Sonic shreds like a skateboard

Tue, 19 Mar 2013

Despite the fact that the 2013 Chevy Sonic is a fun, plucky little thing - especially in ever-so-slightly hotter RS guise - it is not, in fact, a skateboard. But don't tell that to rapper Theophilus London.
In General Motors' latest spot for the Chevrolet compact, London needs to make a quick run to the store for some milk. And even though, once again, the Sonic is not a skateboard, it ollies, pops and gets air because, you know, it's just so much fun to throw around.
If this video looks familiar to you, it's because this is the full ad that we first got a preview of in Chevy's longer, full-line spot, where the brand's "Find New Roads" tagline was introduced. Scroll down to see this dedicated Sonic spot, along with the older ad, and remember, the Sonic is still - still - not a skateboard.

Race Recap: 2013 Twelve Hours of Sebring, cakewalk up front, grindfest out back [w/spoilers]

Tue, 19 Mar 2013

This year's 12 Hours of Sebring wasn't exactly a foregone conclusion because we're still talking about racing, and anything can happen when the speeds are as high as the adrenaline and the desire. But we're still talking about Audi bringing it's two top-spec racers - and its huge budget and its nearly neurotic attention to detail - to a race that it uses as a test bed for The 24 Hours of Le Mans and as a way to open the endurance racing season with a victory.
Besides, 12 hours is a long time, especially at Sebring, and things didn't go all Audi's way. On top of that, although it was a pretty quiet race, behind the Audis things got even grimier, with plenty of battles, plenty of mechanical issues, and the new BMW Z4 GTE and Viper GTS-R being race tested. Oh, and that brand new chromed-out DeltaWing...
