Please do NOT bid until Monday evening, I am going to take pictures tomorrow so that there are 100% current pics. These are very recent but the wheels are changed.

This 1965 Corvair was produced in Monza trim with factory air conditioning, automatic transmission and in the one year only Evening Orchid color. the straight rust free body was color changed to black around 2005. At that time the door handles, trim, fuel door, and antenna were shaved.  Here are some of the additional work that has been done. Please read all of it so you know what the details are.

SBC 327/350 ('68 Vette), Edelbrock 4bbl carb, Moroso distributor. Toronado flexi torque transaxle with custom tubular mounts by Vairhouse in Reno, NV. Hurst shifter with reverse lock out. Custom interior engine cover retaining back seat area.

Front GM disc brake conversion with drilled and slotted rotors. 15 x 7 GTA Mesh wheels. Wilwood matched master cylinder.

OEM gas tank with custom dual pickups. New NOS sender, filer, seal, and retainer. Custom double pass aluminum radiator (Griffin) with custom electric fan and shrouding. Copper tube coolant lines. Blue silicone flexible connections.

Interior with Acura GSR front and rear seats, the rear seats are not mounted. Chevy II center console gauge package. Corsa dash. remote control head unit, USB port. The Torq Thrust wheels in some of the pictures are no longer on the car. Keep an eye on the pictures as I will add them as I am able.

What is needed is some interior work, a little wiring cleaned up. I have some interior A/C vents and controls that will go with the car, as the A/C was removed at some point. The winning bidder will get the factory rear engine cover that is in the later pictures. I can sell the aftermarket one at additional cost.  The car will drive onto a trailer for shipping and I can also deliver if it within reason and details agreed upon. Please bid with confidence, and only bid if you are 100% prepared to follow through.

Please call or ask questions here. 303-325-5968 Thank you, Allen

Who sold the most heavy-duty pickups in 2012? PickupTrucks.com investigates

Tue, 26 Feb 2013

Domestic manufacturers enjoyed a good year for heavy-duty pickup sales in 2012. PickupTrucks.com has taken a close look at exactly how those sales broke down between each manufacturer and between three-quarter and one-ton pickups. Ford sold some 67,786 F-250 Super Duty models last year with the Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD falling just behind at 56,359 units. The Ram 2500 HD came in third at 41,918, while the GMC Sierra 2500 HD earned itself fourth place with 27,616 deliveries. While Ford held onto the top spot in the one-ton market, Ram easily nailed down second place by selling more 3500 HD models last year than General Motors sold Silverado 3500 HD and Sierra 3500 HD trucks combined.
So, did GM manage to sell more trucks than Ford with its two brands? Very nearly. Ford sold a total of 119,338 heavy-duty pickups to GM's 111,555. Ram, meanwhile, moved a distant 77,583. But perhaps more interesting is the diesel take rate in this segment. PickupTrucks.com says 80 percent of all domestic one-ton trucks roll from the dealer lot with a turbo-diesel under the hood. Head over to the site for a closer look at the breakdown.

Race Recap: 2013 Twelve Hours of Sebring, cakewalk up front, grindfest out back [w/spoilers]

Tue, 19 Mar 2013

This year's 12 Hours of Sebring wasn't exactly a foregone conclusion because we're still talking about racing, and anything can happen when the speeds are as high as the adrenaline and the desire. But we're still talking about Audi bringing it's two top-spec racers - and its huge budget and its nearly neurotic attention to detail - to a race that it uses as a test bed for The 24 Hours of Le Mans and as a way to open the endurance racing season with a victory.
Besides, 12 hours is a long time, especially at Sebring, and things didn't go all Audi's way. On top of that, although it was a pretty quiet race, behind the Audis things got even grimier, with plenty of battles, plenty of mechanical issues, and the new BMW Z4 GTE and Viper GTS-R being race tested. Oh, and that brand new chromed-out DeltaWing...

Hot Wheels Camaro to make big debut at Indy

Fri, 05 Apr 2013

Chevrolet handed over the keys to 33 Hot Wheels Camaro Convertible Indianapolis 500 festival cars this week. Race directors get the luxury of driving the droptops around Indianapolis in an ongoing tradition with roots all the way back to the 1960s. The stunt is supposed to remind area residents that the Indy 500 is right around the corner. The cars are our first look at the special Camaro Hot Wheels Edition in convertible form, and they are slated to head to dealers after a one-time production run. The cars also represent the first time in history full-size Hot Wheels have been offered for sale by an automaker.
The cars will be available in both the previously seen coupe bodystyle and this convertible configuration, and will feature metallic blue paint and special wheels with the iconic redline accent. Buyers will be able to choose between the V6-powered 2LT trim and the V8-powered 2SS guise.
Hot Wheels says the original Custom Camaro toy was one of the original 16 1:64-scale diecasts, and it remains one of the company's most valuable collector items today.
