LIFTED 1971 CHEVY K-20 4X4! CORVETTE FUEL INJECTED LT1! AIR CONDITIONING! SHARP!

If you are in the market for a really fun classic vehicle to drive but want to stand out from the crowd and have modern creature comforts then look no further!

We have decided to sell our 1971 Chevrolet Cheyenne K/20 pickup. This truck isn't just your run of the mill truck though. For starters this truck started off before restoration as a clean rust free truck with 21k original miles. The restoration was basically just a clean and repaint and the body was not removed. A 4" suspension lift was added to the factory 3/4 ton 4x4 drivetrain. It was then painted a beautiful blue and white 2 tone. A set of 16x10 Weld wheels were added and wrapped in 315/70-17 Nitto Terra Grappler tires that currently have around 50-60% tread. Then the powertrain was upgraded with a 1993 Corvette Fuel Injected LT1 engine along with a painless harness and Hypertech tuned computer with a functioning OBD1 port and Check engine lights. Ceramic coated long tube headers were then installed as well as electric fans, Magnaflow exhaust, and a twin ram intake. An HD A/C compressor was added to the factory A/C system as well as a serpentine belt system. The truck rides on Skyjacker shocks and handles well. The truck is also equipped with power steering that you can turn with one finger and power brakes that work well. The factory 14 bolt rear differential and front Dana 44 differentials are filled with 3.73 gears and topped off with chrome differential covers. The factory TH400 transmission was rebuilt to handle more power as well as upgraded with a shift kit and trans cooler. The factory behind the seat fuel tank was removed and a custom built stainless fuel cell was built into the front of the bed and looks great. All the factory gauges work as they should and are as accurate as they were from the factory. The interior was then wrapped in a custom tweed and a custom bowtie headliner was also installed. The truck has a nice aftermarket CD player as well.

This restoration is about 15 years old but still looks great. This truck sold at auction 14 years ago for $37,000 plus fees. Everything works and any buyer that would like to the drive truck home from a long distance is welcomed as this truck drives like and is as reliable as a new truck. The only mechanical issue with this truck is a belt squeal that goes away when warm but may be fixed before the truck is sold. We have taken this truck on several long trips and it performed flawlessly. The truck does in fact only have 38,791 miles. The miles may go up just a little as this truck is driven frequently. A brief walkaround video can be viewed at http://youtu.be/odSAmXz0lAs We are offering this truck at NO RESERVE! I don't want to offer a Buy It Now because I would like it to sell for what it's worth. The highest bidder WILL WIN!

For more information call or text Matt at 615-364-4835. NO TRADES will be accepted. We are located around 30min from Nashville International Airport and free airport pickup is available.

Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit

Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.

Why does the Corvette Stingray have so many vents? Here's why

Sun, 27 Jan 2013

Just looking at the new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, it's not hard to see that the car's design was created with aerodynamics at the forefront, but Chevrolet designers point out exactly what went into designing the iconic coupe in a pair of recently released videos. The videos show the Corvette going through early design phases, including clay models and wind tunnel tests, as well as talking to the car's chief engineer, Tadge Juechter.
Both videos help explain various aspects of the C7 Corvette, but it's the aero tuning of the car that is most interesting. This includes extra attention paid to the lower air dam and vented hood to help reduce drag and lift, while the rear quarter inlets are for differential and transmission cooling. Juechter said that some of these aero-tuned elements were inspired from GM's involvement in racing.
If you have about five minutes and you can't get enough information about the new 'Vette, then check out the videos posted below.

2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra show all their sides in Detroit

Tue, 15 Jan 2013

There could hardly be more riding on the next-generation General Motors full-size pickup trucks, so the automaker has wisely made sure to have a selection of different models on hand at the Detroit Auto Show to show off. The 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and 2014 GMC Sierra were both officially introduced last month at a stand-alone reveal, and now they'll be on display for the public to see in various body configurations and trim levels.
The Silverado LTZ Crew Cab and Sierra SLE Extended Cab are aimed at providing more of a high-end pickup experience, while the Silverado LT Z71 Extended Cab and Sierra SLT Z71 Crew Cab should have off-road fans scouting out their favorite trails. The crew cab trucks won't go into production until sometime during the second quarter of this year - with other bodystyles coming later in the year - but we have plenty of live images from Detroit for you to enjoy.
