So there is no misunderstanding in our listing regarding description or terminology. Please note how we interpret the following: Runs This means we started the vehicle and let it run/idle up to operating temperature. In most cases about 15 to 20 minutes. While the vehicle is running for this length of time we look for the following. Leaks, smoke, excessive noise, any noise that would not be considered normal for this type vehicle. Should we notice anything out of the ordinary we would report our findings in the listings. If there are no comments under or after the "Runs" description, then we found nothing out of the ordinary. The term is not intended to mean that you may be able to drive this vehicle home from our lot. Although in some cases you may be able to. We have no way or knowing the future. Best to consider transportation in all cases Drives This means we drove the the vehicle at least 10 miles after we brought the engine up to operating temperature and found nothing out of the ordinary for a vehicle of this type. Should there be any problems with the brakes, shakes, smoke, rattles of anything as such we would report it here under the "drives" description. The term is not intended to mean that you may be able to drive this vehicle home from our lot. Although in some cases you might be able to. We have no way or knowing the future.Best to consider transportation in all cases. TMU This term means we do not know the true or accurate miles of this vehicle. The miles that may be stated in the listing is the miles the odometer may be stating. But we can not assure that to be the correct miles. For example: The odometer LED may not work. or the speedometer cable may be broken. Or simply the car is just too old to have a 6 place odometer. Just because we list TMU that does not mean the miles is wrong. It simply means we can not verify the accurate miles Parts We are selling this vehicle for parts only. Although this vehicle may run and drive, we feel it would best be suited for parts only. If we have a title for this vehicle we will pass it along. If we don't not you will only get a bill of sale. Restoration We believe this car has a lot of potential. But along with that it is going to need some amount of work to get it there. CLEAR TITLE All vehicles we list on ebay must be sold in the ebay proper category or we get our account restricted for listing in other places. Ebay calls this circumventing fees. So we must follow the rules. This includes cars/truck we think should be sold just for parts or restoration. When ebay gives us the choice to selct what type of title this vehicle has? It does not include a selection for no title. So in some case you will see at the begining of the listing the car/truck might see clear title. But please read the description thoroughly. If the vehicle does not have a title we will state so in the description even though the listing say clear title. Please pay close attention to the listing itself on all out items. RUST Rust means that there are certain areas on this vehicle where we noticed some rust. It could be on the body, floor frame or just anywhere on the vehicle. We try to be completely honest and accurate as to the location and condition of the rust. PLEASE NOTE: we are not responsible for failing to list all areas of rust or the amount there of. It's a safe bet to assume that when we state rust. The vehicle is going to need some type of repair. ROT Rot means rot! It does not get much easy then that. If we claim rot. It means that there is a section of the vehicle where rot has been noticed and reported to me. In most case a piece of the vehicle is missing and some type of work is needed to make this vehicle safe for the road. GM 6.2L V8 claims most powerful light-duty truck engine title
Thu, 12 Sep 2013General Motors has officially captured the horsepower crown for mainstream pickup trucks with its 6.2-liter V8. The big mill, available in both the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, comes to market with 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, handily outdoing its two cross-town competitors, Ram (5.7-liter V8, 395 ponies and 407 lb-ft) and Ford (6.2-liter V8, 411 hp and 434 lb-ft).
The new GM 6.2 will take a bit of an investment, though. Those that want the extra thrust will need to go with either the LTZ or High Country trims from the Chevy, or the SLT and Denali trims from GMC, which are the two highest trim levels for the respective vehicles. Trim levels aside, if you're in the business of towing, GM has you covered. Optioned with the 6.2-liter V8 and the Max Trailering Package, owners will be able to pull 12,000 pounds, a hugely impressive figure.
We still aren't certain as to what sort of economy the new engine will get, but it'll probably be a bad bet for the fuel conscious. As for availability, expect to see the 6.2-liter trucks in showrooms later in the fall.
2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra debut all-new designs, three new engines
Thu, 13 Dec 2012General Motors has finally dropped the curtain on the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and 2014 GMC Sierra. Both trucks have undergone substantial revisions with updated versions of the company's 4.3-liter V6, 5.3-liter V8 and 6.2-liter V8 engines. In a shot across the bows of both Ford and Chrysler, GM says it won't use a V6 engine adapted from passenger car applications. Instead, it developed the 4.3-liter engine based on its proven truck-duty architecture.
All three mills will boast direct injection fuel systems as well as a new cylinder head design. Combined with a revised piston, the new engines feature a smaller combustion chamber with a compression ratio of 11:1 or higher depending on the application. Cylinder deactivation and continuously variable valve timing are all part of the recipe, and each engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission with auto grade breaking. So far, no fuel economy or horsepower figures have been released, though GM says the new engines will best their predecessors in both areas.
Outside, the trucks feature a number of enhancements to reduce drag and wind noise, and GM claims both the Silverado and Sierra will offer buyers some of the quietest cabins in the class. Extended cab models now feature front-hinged rear doors to allow easier access to the back passenger area, and Crew Cab buyers can now select between a five-foot, eight-inch bed or a six-foot, six-inch bed. Buyers with a mind toward going off road will also rejoice in the return of the Z71 package, complete with Rancho shocks, front tow hooks and additional under-body protection.
PickupTrucks.com's latest test results in a familiar winner [w/video]
Wed, 19 Jun 2013PickupTrucks.com has gone and thrown the latest batch of half-ton pickups into a cage match to see who would come out on top. The site put the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, GMC Sierra 1500, 2013 Ford F-150, Ram 1500, Toyota Tundra and Nissan Titan through a battery of tests. Those included 0-60 miles per hour acceleration, 60-0 mph deceleration, fuel economy, a hill climb, and payload and towing. They even threw the rigs on an autocross course to evaluate overall handling. Each truck was given points based on how it scored in each evaluation.
Who came out on top? Somewhat surprisingly, the 2013 Ford F-150 walked away with the gold, though fewer than 50 points separated first and fourth place. Head over to PickupTrucks.com to read the full evaluation and the final results. You may be shocked to see exactly where some of the segment's newest additions placed. You can also watch a video on the test below.
