1957 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible

The 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible may be, and probably is, the ultimate example of Harley Earl’s postwar styling and of the confidence, optimism and exuberance of the late Fifties American automobile industry and the economy and society it sold to. 222 inches long, the Eldorado Biarritz dictated revision of American garage dimensions. Its 365 cubic inch overhead valve V-8 had two Carter 4-barrel carburetors and was rated at 325 horsepower. Most important today, it had one of the cutest trunks ever designed for any automobile, curved down between two think shark’s fins atop the equally curvaceous fenders. Its grille looked capable of devouring tons of krill, flanked by a pair of rubber-tipped Dagmars and two huge mustachio-shaped bumperettes. It weighed two and a half tons and cost $7,286.

The 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham convertible is the ultimate extrovert automobile, commanding confidence and exuberance wherever it goes. This example is resplendent in bright metallic copper paint with matching copper and white leather upholstery, copper carpets and a white top. If it doesn’t have every option available on top of the Eldorado’s already comprehensive equipment list it is hard to imagine what isn’t included: air conditioning, parade boot cover, polished alloy Sabre wheels, WonderBar radio, Autronic Eye headlight dimmer and power everything. It is a fully and completely done older restoration to very high standards with a few miles on it and has no apparent needs although it is no longer a concours contender. Cadillac built only 1,800 Eldorado Biarritz convertibles in 1957 and they still inspire admiration and envy in onlookers nearly six decades after they were built.

  • Bid with confidence! If you are the winning bidder, and you come to our facility to inspect it, and don’t like it, we will refund your money…no questions asked!
  • Our reserve price has been set fairly. If the reserve is not met, the high bid will be considered, and the highest bidder will be contacted through an eBay personal offer.

  • All vehicles are available for personal inspection. We invite you to come visit our 100 car showroom, located just a few miles from the St. Louis International Airport.
  • If you are the winning bidder, and wish to view the car personally, you or your agent have five days in which to complete your inspection. Remember, if for any reason you don’t like the car, we will refund your deposit, no questions asked, within this five day period.
  • It is important to bear in mind that a vehicle is “NEW” only once and that all pre-owned vehicles, regardless of age, mileage, or level of restoration, are subject to cosmetic wear and mechanical failure. These understandings are essential to the realistic expectations of collector car ownership. It is for this reason that we encourage a personal inspection prior to delivery to help ensure your satisfaction.
  • Please note that any mileage listed in the auction are what is showing on the odometer, and unless otherwise specified are not guaranteed to be actual miles.
  • All vehicles are sold as-is, where-is, with no warranties expressed or implied.
  • All sales are final.

Payment Terms

  • A 20% deposit must be received within 48 hours of auction end.
  • Deposit is fully refundable if purchaser inspects the vehicle within the 5 day inspection period, and for any reason does not like the car.
  • Final payment must be received within five business days of close of auction, unless other arrangements are made.
  • Payment can be made by cashier’s check or by bank wire transfer.

Shipping Terms

  • Purchaser to pay for any and all transportation costs.
  • We are happy to assist you in finding shipping, and will contact the shipper on your behalf.
  • Prices and quality of service vary greatly, and we will work hard to get you a reasonable price with a reputable company.
  • We are happy to accommodate our overseas buyers!
  • We have exported cars worldwide for over 20 years. Overseas shipments can be containerized for safe sea passage.
  • We take care of all the details and paperwork. All you have to do is collect the car at the port of your choice.
  • Shipping can take 14 days or more due to scheduling.
