Kept indoors when not driven all 49 years of her life

This generation of Ford F-Series trucks is one of the best body styles produced. That statement is even said among GM guys. The truck defines the term "Survivor". It is completely original and unaltered. With the exception of service related items, this is how it came from the factory almost 50 years ago. To say the truck is in wonderful original condition would be an understatement. They cannot be found like this anymore and finding them in this level of condition is nearly impossible. I'm a General Motors lover at heart but even I jumped to buy this truck the very minute it became available. I've been on the originality band wagon for many years. Popularity is catching on and demand is growing for untouched examples of classic cars and trucks. Again, I've been attracted to Survivors for many years now. I'm not bragging or throwing stones but what took everyone else so long to figure it out? They are only original once and time takes it's toll on all of us to greater or lesser degrees. These un-restored, well preserved examples tell their stories and share their history without excuses. One walk around from front to back is all it takes to see the life they've had. Like stepping back in time. The 49 years of gentle use and care this truck has received is obvious the second you see it. Special ordered and equipped exactly how the original owner wanted it. Always here in the moderate climate of Oregon. Absolutely NO rust or corrosion of any kind, ever. Even the undersides are outstanding. The original exterior and interior are impressive to say the least. Very well maintained mechanically. Runs and drives incredibly well. Finding appreciation for this truck is an easy task. Even if I didn't type another word, you'd be able to form a clear impression for yourself by the time you viewed the 3rd or 4th pictures in the layout. However, there are those that prefer as many details as possible. The long-winded write up continues under many of the upcoming photos.

All of my eBay experiences have been enjoyable over the years as I've sold members of my collection. I'm grateful for the kind words and compliments I've received. My opinions have guided me well and I stand behind them but please keep in mind that these are my personal opinions and observations and they may differ from your own. I welcome showing my Ford in person to anyone with genuine interest. I live very near the Portland Oregon Airport and would gladly pick you up. Each photo shows the Truck clearly and accurately from as many angles as I could think of and I apologize if they start looking similar. It is my intention to make this as close to you seeing and touching the truck for yourself as possible. Feel free to click on the "ask a question" link here in the auction and I will respond to all polite questions. Phone calls are great too. My telephone number is 503-575-0404 and calls between 8AM and 9PM Pacific time are just fine. My auction runs for 5 days and is scheduled to end on Wednesday evening, the 28th of May at 7:30PM Pacific.

I reserve the right to end my auction early in the event I accept a genuine offer and the truck becomes no longer available. I enjoy discussing my Ford. Don't hesitate to contact me.

*If you are outside of the U.S. or Canada, PLEASE contact me to confirm your bidding activity as genuine.*

Everyone, please be sure to read my terms of sale located near the bottom of this screen. I'm a reasonable person but I will not bend on these basic terms unless previously discussed during the auction. A little communication goes a long way.

NO RESERVE AUCTION

I did not set a reserve price on my amazing F-100. All that I ask in return is for your bids to be real and your intent to purchase be sincere. I took every picture you're about to see in my driveway at home the day before this auction started. No photo has been altered or enhanced in any way. This is my Truck and these pictures are true to the in-person appearance. Thanks for your time, DAVE

EXTERIOR: Yes, it really is that nice. Calvin is his name and that's what he's always called. By most opinions, the cosmetic condition is comparable to that of a 5 or 6 year old vehicle. In fact, the bed/cargo area is just about the only portion of the truck to show wear and even that supports light use. The body and paint are in excellent shape. Much of the trucks history was accurately passed onto me. The paint is original and shines nicely. Never in a collision but the right front fender was bumped causing a small dent near the headlight. This occurred 30+ years ago and was repaired. When I acquired the truck earlier this year the hood was showing minor fading. Based on the quality of the rest of the paint on the truck, I had the hood professionally re-finished by the facility that handles the painting of the high-end members of my collection. The color match is perfect! If I didn't mention it you'd never know. All of the exterior holds a nice gloss with smooth texture. With the exception of a tiny ding near the left back-up light (photo provided) there are no stand-out flaws. Small imperfections in the form of chips and minor scratches that occurred over the last 49 years have been touched-up as needed. Stainless trim, grille, chrome bumper and all glass is in excellent original condition. Bottom line: Exterior appearance is beautiful, even standing right next to it! Compliments are never ending every time I take him out. One of a kind, time capsule, choose your preferred term. They are all correct statements. PLEASE NOTE: The side marker lights were added by the original owner in the late 1960's and they look like factory original.

INTERIOR: Okay, where do I start with the excuses? Oh wait, there aren't any! The plastic seat cover has protected the original seat since day-one. The rubber floor matting is perfect. The door panels and dashboard are excellent. The factory headliner inserts have warped slightly in the last 50 years but support the amazing true condition of the interior. I'm certainly not saying there aren't other nice trucks out there but a factory installed interior like this cannot be found. Original's like this have become extinct.     The plastic on the drivers side of the seat has worn ever so slightly. Close-up shown within the main interior photos provided below in the display.

DRIVE-TRAIN: Original and special ordered 300 6cyl. The standard six cylinder engine was the 240 cubic inch. The engine performs well and has good acceleration. No ticks, smoke or knocks of any kind and always stays cool even in traffic. The 4 speed manual transmission shifts correctly through all of the gears and the clutch engages smoothly. The rear end is church-quiet. Brakes stop on a dime and the steering feels tight and sound. The A/C unit is from 1965. The metal tags are date and engine family coded (close-up's provided below). The air-conditioning system is functioning and was demonstrated to me when I purchased the truck. It appears to still be working but the outside temps have been cool lately. Worse case scenario, please expect a freon service.

            Assembly line build sheet.

Chrome and exterior bright-work are very nice.

            Vintage Ford hub caps.

This truck has so many rare options. This rear-view mirror combo is hard to find. Again, all chrome on the truck is beautiful both inside and out. No ugly pitting or tarnish. The is no substitute for always being kept parked inside.

The windshield is the only non-original piece of glass. All glass is crystal clear.

One tiny ding in the center of the grille.

Both day-one 1965 Oregon license plates are still bolted to each bumper.

T            The view from my front porch.

The bed/cargo area was used for light-duty only.

Please notice the very small ding I mentioned earlier near the back-up light.

The paint really does still shine nicely. That's me in the reflection on the door. Hello.

The CB has always been in the truck. Even the little rain gutter antenna hold-down clips are still in the glove box.

Every light works. Actually, everything on the truck works, period!

Very rare reverse lights. They are controlled by a factory switch on the dash.

            Even the license plate light!

Drives excellent down the highway. No pulls, vibrations or loose steering. Gearing is fine but max comfortable speed is about 55-60.

Total mileage since 1965 is 109,491 and counting.

Everything works!!! The switch to the left of the choke knob that says "lights" is for the back-up's. The headlight switch is on the other side of the steering column. And yes, the CB and PA outside speaker work perfectly.

Even the protective cloth on the factory speaker is 100% intact. They are NEVER found like this. This truck is the exception to so many rules.

            Cab in MINT, corners included.

Yep, the hat stays. I had never seen a hat hold-down before.

Every gauge, light, knob and lever works correctly. Heater and fan, wipers, turn signals, emergency flashers, brakes lights, horn and even the original radio are all functioning correctly. The windshield squirters too. Unheard of.

Again, the factory AM radio tunes stations and plays clearly.

This door arm rest shows light wear.

The interior does show some use but is in wonderful condition. Yes, the zipper compartment still opens and closes smoothly.

PLEASE READ: This photo actually says a lot. This cardboard backer panel attached to the firewall is NEVER intact and it's MINT on my Truck. If you stick your head up underneath to see up into this area it appears just like new! Underneath the dash, the entire firewall and all the way up to the windshield still looks like brand new. There is no rust or corrosion anywhere on the truck. I replaced one tail light bulb and couldn't believe that the socket and housing looked like new. Simply amazing.

I magnified this photo in order to show the small flaw on the seat. The plastic has protected the seat all 49 years.

NOT restored. The 186 marking on the fuel tank was done on the assembly line in 1965.

Everywhere you look, condition is hard to describe.

Alternator and oil warning lights illuminate as intended.

I only looked away from the road for a split second to snap this pic. Speedometer seems pretty accurate. If anything, it's slightly slow but not by very much.

Unaltered other than required maintenance items.

Well maintained and turned-up at regular intervals.

Rear diff serviced at 86,000. I have a record of that from many years ago. When was the last time any of us have seen "Keep on Truckin" flaps? These are from the late 60's or very early 70's.

            The undersides are incredible.

            Fuel tank switching valve.

There are typical leaks and seepage but nothing that hinders reliable function of mechanical components.

Even trucks of this vintage from California, Arizona, etc, get at least some rust in the trouble-prone places. My Truck defies logic and simply has NO corrosion issues. Difficult to fully explain but true nonetheless.

Tag mounted to air-conditioning compressor. I've never seen a '65 Ford Truck with A/C. Sorry to sound like a broken record here but unique barely scratches the surface when describing this truck.

I have previous registration cards. Mr. Marion bought the truck brand new at Wilson Motors (Ford dealer in Corvallis Oregon) in 1965. He and his wife Rose moved to Beaverton Oregon some years later. I have his last registration from 1996 in my file

I'm hoping that my appreciation for this very rare truck is contagious and that your impression is fully formed by now. It is simply outstanding and more than worthy of sitting next to the other members of my collection. Finding original examples in this condition is a thing of the past. People always flock to him. Will be a crowd-pleaser at any Show or Cruise-in. Normally, I don't get sentimentally attached but Calvin will be an exception. We will miss him and although I hardly ever have regrets, this might be one. He definitely deserves the right loving home. Hopefully his next owner will be exactly that. My fingers are crossed. Thanks again-

Terms of Sale: 49yr old vehicle being sold AS-IS:

Please read and agree with the following:

I have described my F-100 honestly and to the best of my ability based on over 25 years of owning and driving vintage vehicles. This is one of the finest original examples you will find. I have 100% faith in the drivability of my Truck and everything is in excellent working order per the written description I provided above. I enjoy driving her without concern and would not hesitate taking a long trip today (at 55-60mph) but she is almost 50 years old so routine service and repairs should be expected based on her age. If you are not comfortable with a sight-unseen purchase, please come see the truck for yourself or have an independent inspection performed during the auction and PRIOR to bidding, NOT after. I will not be responsible for the decisions of others. Free and clear Certificate Of Title will be provided. I would appreciate the winning bidder contacting me immediately upon end of auction just so the lines of communication are opened. My telephone number is 503-575-0404

PAYMENT TERMS

A $1000.00 deposit is due within 24 hours of auction ending preferably through PayPal just so we are both protected. Wire transfers and verifiable cashier checks are also acceptable. I'm an easy going person so if you need to make special financial arrangements please contact me BEFORE you bid and I will try to help. I have been with the same bank here in Portland Oregon for over 9 years and the Management staff knows me. You are welcome to contact them for your own security if you like. *The remaining balance in-full is due within 7 calendar days of auction end in the form of secure funds.* Some banks and credit unions do not finance vehicles of this vintage. Make sure if you are financing that your financial institution accepts the year and value of this vehicle before bidding and that my payment time-lines can be met. Please have your method of payment arranged prior to auction ending.

TRANSPORT - SHIPPING

I am happy to be an active and hands-on part of this entire process from start to finish but the buyer is ultimately responsible for pickup or shipping of this vehicle and any pre-purchase inspections need to be done BEFORE auction ending. If you wish to have it shipped using a service, I will gladly assist in loading and be present for the transport condition form and other reasonable help. Locating a transporter is the buyers responsibility but I can make recommendations and share the relationships I've built. Vehicle transport has become very reasonable. I personally use a privately dispatched trucking company. They have handled my transport needs perfectly for the last several years with careful handling, excellent rates and fast service even all the way to the East Coast. I will provide contact info at your request. Dependable Auto Shippers (D.A.S.) is a transporter that eBay recommends and my experiences with them before I started using only private carriers were just fine. My location zip code is 97214. Coast-to-Coast transport is around $1200.00 and even less the closer you are to Oregon. Shipping to Australia, Europe and other Countries has also become affordable and easy to arrange.

*If you are outside of the United States or Canada, you MUST contact me to confirm your bidding activity as authentic. If you are an eBay member with negative history or have a (0) or even a low transaction score, I need to hear from you just to verify your sincerity and accept your bids as genuine. We all started from (0) and I'm happy to give a leg up. I reserve the right to cancel bids at any point for these reasons. Email or phone contact is fine. Communication is all I ask.

I reserve the right to end the auction at any time if the vehicle is no longer available or otherwise SOLD.
