    Description

1985 Oldsmobile Toronado Brougham / Immaculate Condition / 59k documented miles / single family owned since 1987 / stored in winters / stunning!

You are viewing a gorgeous 1985 Oldsmobile Toronado Brougham with factory landau top and gray metallic “firemist” factory paint.  I purchased it last fall from the owner’s daughter who purchased it in 1987.  She said her father never drove the car in the snow or salt, and was consistently garage kept, no doubt.  It has 58,992 ORIGINAL miles and has been pampered since new.  (I enjoy driving on weekends, so the mileage will be slightly higher by the end of the auction).  Everything about the car, right down to the stitching in the vinyl top, is in beautiful shape.  I have the original owner's manuals and many service records dating back 25+ years. This beautiful car has many options available in 1985, such as:  vanity mirror, cruise control, intermittent wipers, automatic level control (rear automatic air shocks), 4-wheel disc brakes, power antenna/locks/seats, reclining passenger seat, spoked wire wheel discs, rear defrost, semi-automatic climate control, AM/FM stereo, remote trunk release, thick-padded plush velour interior (and super soft), and vinyl landau top.  Overall the car is immaculate.  The title is clear and has no liens.  The title also documents the original mileage.  This is an extremely comfortable car, and the last year for the traditional-styled Toronado…with the tried-and-true reliable (and economical) 5.0 liter Olds engine and Turbo Hydromatic 4 speed automatic with overdrive.  The car runs and drives beautifully and I’m sure it would go across country effortlessly.

    Exterior:

The paint appears to be original - it is a beautiful and rare deep metallic gray firemist, with contrasting hand-painted pin stripes on the sides.  The factory top matches the metallic gray color.  The paint reflects the fact it was garage kept.  The chrome and the stainless steel also shine brilliantly.  The original vinyl top is also in great shape.  The wheels are in excellent shape; however there is some “road rash” on the right front hubcap.  The exterior is absolutely gorgeous and is obvious of the care it has received.  The underbody is in great shape, and, if detailed, one could put mirrors under the car for display at a car show.  The only flaws on the exterior are trivial – nothing worthy of mention.

    Interior:

The interior is stunning, including some of the most comfortable seats I ever had – very soft, rich, and thickly padded gray velour, which feel, look, and smell brand new.….and there are NO air fresheners needed in this car!  It was obviously NEVER smoked in.  Cigarette lighters were never used.  There are no rips, stains or holes anywhere.  Same with the dash pad, carpets, headliner, and sun visors.  The wood grain dash is beautiful and has no cracks.  Arm rests are like new….no cracks, etc.  The stitching in the seats is also like brand new.  The power equipment goodies all work (even the power antenna!), and the A/C still works well.

    Mechanical:

The motor purrs like a kitten and is extremely smooth.  As mentioned earlier, the motor is the 5.0 (307) Olds V-8 engine which is both economical and reliable.  The transmission shifts smooth and was serviced last fall (fluid was flushed and filter replaced).  The car was serviced regularly and pampered.  I have many documents to show the maintenance that’s been done since around 1990.  The car does not leak any fluids anywhere to my knowledge.  The tires are older but still passed inspection and ride nice…the spare tire does not appear to have ever been out of the trunk.  The self-leveling rear suspension still works great and does NOT leak air.  The car passed the rigorous PA safety (and emissions) inspection last month and is valid through Spring 2015.  The car tracks straight, steering is tight, and brakes are silk smooth. This baby runs beautifully and is ready for show and drive!  The oil was recently changed, and the hoses, belts, and filters were checked and replaced as needed.  The exhaust appears to be newer. The car should not need anything.  For long distance or freeway driving some new tires may be desired due to the age; however they appear to be in good condition and not dry rotted.

    Overall:

If you are looking for a spectacular example of the last of the traditional full size Toronado, this one’s for you.  The car is gorgeous and gets lots of compliments.  I have yet to see another Toronado just like it.  This car is so nice, that most people selling on eBay might say the car is “perfect” or “flawless”.  The average person may describe it as such-- but for a car collector, there’s never anything 100% perfect unless it was restored.  As such, this car was never restored and has almost 59,000 miles and may have some trivial flaws.  I have sold numerous cars on eBay and in all situations I had positive feedback.  I attempt to describe each vehicle as accurately and honestly as possible and I do not think you will be disappointed.  As with anything, if you desire to bid on the vehicle, I would encourage you to see it physically and drive it for yourself before you bid.   I would not be afraid to drive this car across the country.  It runs and drives excellent and will make a very nice classic for you.   If you get the winning bid and are not completely satisfied upon your physical inspection, you can walk away from the vehicle, less $125 of your deposit (to pay for the cost of having to relist on eBay).

    About Us

First of all, let me say I am NOT a registered dealer.  I am a private individual who enjoys collecting, buying, and selling old cars as a hobby.  I may sell a few of my own cars in a year's time, and I also list vehicles for other individuals needing help selling on eBay.  I have excellent feedback with the numerous cars I have sold and am committed to honesty and integrity.  No monkey business.

I just realized that the description summary lists me as a "dealer". I am NOT a dealer; just a private individual. I was not able to change the description because there was already a bid on the car. Sorry for any confusion.
