Top Shelf Reps is excited to offer up to you this very nice 1948 Plymouth Coupe. The car has been with the same owner for the last 35 years and has always been stored indoors. As you can see from the pictures this car has been well maintained over the years. In 2001 the Plymouth received a frame on restoration and as the pictures show it is still in a very nice presentable condition. During the restoration the paint was removed down to bare metal, had a few rust areas repaired and then repainted.  The paint is still in nice condition and on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the best the owner would rate the paint a 7. It does have some areas like the right rear fender that has some small scratches and another spot where a baseball his car leaving a small dent. All the chrome was remover before the car was painted and then reapplied. As you can see from the pictures that the chrome looks great. Using the same scale as before the owner would rate the chrome a 9. There is some rust bubbling under the paint in the right lower panels. The driver and passenger side floorboards have been tined and riveted. The underside of the care is nice and solid but has a few small rust spots.

The original flathead 6 cyl was rebuilt back in December of 1979 when the odometer was showing 29,800 miles. Now the odometer is only showing 41,790 miles, only 11,990 miles since overhaul. We do not believe this to be correct but the owner has only added about 200 miles in the last year. The Flathead runs nice and strong with no issues. The manual transmission works just as it should with no issues.

The gray interior is also in good condition as you can see from the pictures. The only thing that the owner has not done is the door panels but does have the original set and hardware that need to be redone.  The dash and seats are all in good condition. The headliner is not in the car but the owner does have a new one that needs to be installed. All the gauges, knobs and radio are the original type however the radio, temp, fuel gauge, wipers and volt meter do not work. He has added aftermarket volt meter, temp and oil pressure gauges.

Over all this would make anyone looking for a great Sunday cruiser a great car! I’m sure we have forgotten something so please feel free to call or email with questions that you might have.
