HERE IS THE DESCRIPTION:

EXTERIOR:

THE BODY PANELS ARE RAZOR STRAIGHT. THE SHUT LINES ARE PERFECT. THIS CAR WAS TOTALLY TAKEN APART BEFORE BODY PREPARATION AND PAINT. THE CAR HAS AN EXCELLENT PAINT WITH A FEW MINOR BLEMISHES. THERE ARE COUPLE OF TINY BUBBLES NEAR THE AUSTIN BADGE ON THE HOOD AS WELL AS A COUPLE OF THEM ON TOP OF THE RIGHT PART OF COWL. THERE ARE NO EVIDNCE OF RUST ANYWHERE ON THE CAR. WE CAN JUST ASSUME THAT THE PAINT MAY HAVE REACTED WITH THE BASE PRIMER COAT. WE COULD HAVE EASILY SPOT PAINTED THESE SMALL AREAS IN OUR RESTORATION SHOP BUT WE FIGURED ITS BEST TO LEAVE THEM. THE FLOOR PANS, SPARE AREA, BATTERY BOX, INNER AND OUTTER SILLS, DOOR HINGE AREAS, REAR DOOR JAMBS, ETC. ARE RUST-FREE. THE BUMPERS, GRILL,  AND MISC. TRIM ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION SOME WITH LIGHT PITTING BUT NOT TOO BAD. ALL LIGHTS AND GLASS ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. THE ASH WOOD TRIM ARE IN GREAT CONDITION. MOST OF THE WEATHER STRIPPING ARE LIKE NEW.

INTERIOR:

THE SEAT COVERS, DOOR PANELS, CARPET, AND HEADLINER ARE LIKE NEW CONDITION. PLEASE VIEW THE IMAGES OF THE FLOOR PANELS BELOW SEATS, SPARE AREA, AND BATTERY BOX. THE DASH POD AND THE STEERING WHEEL ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. THE SLIDING WINDOWS OPERATE WELL BUT SOMETIMES THEY STICK TO THE BOTTOM RUBBER TRACKS. THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE SLIDING WINDOWS. A SET OF NEW RUBBER TRACKS WILL COME WITH TRHE CAR.

MECHANICAL:

THIS CAR STARTS UP IMMEDIATELY EVERY TIME. JUST TURN THE IGNITION ON, PULL OUT THE CHOKE, AND PUSH THE STARTER BUTTON ON THE FLOOR. THE ENGINE RUNS VERY SMOOTH AND IDLES GREAT. THE CAR HAS EXCELLENT OIL PRESSURE. THERE ARE A FEW DROPS OF OIL BELOW THE ENGINE WHILE PARKED OVERNIGHT. WE HAVE NOT INVESTIGATED THE SOURCE OF THE LEAK AS THE CAR IS 53 YEARS OLD AND IT GOES WITH THE TERRITORY. THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS GOOD THROUGH ALL 4 GEARS AND REVERSE AND THE CLUTCH IS STRONG. THE BRAKES AND SUSPENSION FUNCTION PROPERLY. THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WORKS. THIS AUSTIN RIDES VERY SMOOTH ON A SET OF NEW TIRES. WE HAVE ONLY DRIVEN THIS CAR ABOUT COUPLE OF MILES AROUND THE BLOCK. PLEASE DO NOT ASK IF YOU CAN FLY IN AND DRIVE IT TO CALIFORNIA.

ELECTRICAL:

THE LIGHTS, TURN SIGNALS, AND BRAKE LIGHTS WORK. THE HORN IS INOP. THE TEMP. GAUGE IS NOT WORKING. THE ENGINE RUNS VERY COOL WHILE PARKED AND IDLING. THE PROBLEM MAY BE THE SENDING UNIT OR THE GAUGE.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT:

THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT IS VERY NICE AND CLEAN BUT NOT FULLY DETAILED

CARGO AREA:

THE CARGO AREA INCLUDING THE SPARE AREA, BATTERY BOX, FUEL TANK, THE CARPETS, ETC. ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. THE SPARE TIRE IS IN GOOD CONDITION. THE CARDBOARD COVERING THE FUEL TANK STILL HAS THE ORIGINAL VINYL FINISH. IT IS A BIT FADED BUT SERVICEABLE. THERE ARE NO TOOLS OR JACK.

WE HAVE TRIED TO DESCRIBE A 53 YEAR OLD CLASSIC CAR TO THE BEST OF OUR ABILITY. PLEASE READ THE DETAILED DESCRIPTION AND VIEW THE 99 IMAGES PRIOR TO BIDDING. PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE MONEY IN HAND AND FULL INTENTION TO FINALIZE THE TRANSACTION AFTER THE AUCTION ENDS.
