1959 Porsche Convertible D "Drauz" Speedster.  COA has been lost  but this car was built mid March 1959, original color is silver- interior is red leather-top is black. Original engine number is 74259 normal 6ohp.  Current engine block  made in  Jan. 1959 which is a 1600 Super. Front cover is numbered 74283 <24 numbers apart from original engine number>.  I purchased and drove this Porsche in 1972 while in college mostly spring thru early fall, a 356B was my winter driver.  This Porsche was sent to a well known restoration shop in Missouri in 1974 for complete restoration and conservation.   Mid way through the restoration the man doing the work had an untimely death.  The car was gathered up from the body shop and stored in a dry family barn until September 2013 untouched from 1974.  It is mostly apart awaiting to be finished.  It is mostly numbers match, the hood that is not on the car is original, the right door is a replacement prior to my ownership.  The engine was being restored also, not in photos are and included are the rocker arms/shafts and cam shaft, valve covers.   Four wheels dated 1959. I tryed to list accurate photos. This Porsche has a fresh Florida title copy of my original title on request.  I did TSD Rallied this car in Kansas City,Mo. and attended PCA meetings with it ,which at one of the meetings, 1973 the great Art Bunker Sr. looked the car over and declared it was a personal car from his dealership and wanted to buy it back,i declined as their might be some of his racing heritage with it and i was keeping it......A story  will be written about this car by a reknown BARN FIND author due out summer of 2014.
