The Chrysler New Yorker was a premium automobile model by the Chrysler division of the Chrysler Corporation from 1946–1996, serving for several years as the brand's flagship model. A trim level named the "New York Special" first appeared in 1938. Until its discontinuation in 1996, the New Yorker had made its mark as the longest running American car nameplate.

The New Yorker name helped define the Chrysler brand as a maker of upscale models priced and equipped above mainstream brands like Ford, Chevrolet/Pontiac, and Dodge/Plymouth, but below full luxury brands like Cadillac, Lincoln and Packard. During the New Yorker's tenure, it competed against models from Buick, Oldsmobile and Mercury.

In 1956, Chrysler christened this model year "PowerStyle" and it was one of the design works of Virgil Exner. The New Yorker gained a new mesh grille, leather seats, pushbutton PowerFlite selector, and a V8 with 280 horsepower.

MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present the incredible 1956 Chrysler New Yorker you see pictured. This particular, car has benefitted from a frame off restoration and it shows from the custom paint to the custom interior. This is a show stopping, high class Chrysler, originally built in the Motor City!

Finished in two tone custom paint job, this New Yorker’s cream and violet paint compliments the immaculate lines of the nostalgic luxury sedan. The paint is in excellent condition and shows very minor imperfections, if any. The body is solid and sound. All of the chrome on the sedan, including the bumpers, has been professional rechromed and looks great. All of the stainless on the car was professionally polished and straightened. The chances of finding another New Yorker in this condition is nearly slim to none! This is one incredible sedan!

Inside, you will see the restoration didn’t stop on the exterior and not a single expense was spared. The seats are wrapped in two tone tan and lavender vinyl and show no signs of wear or imperfection. The tan carpet, the headliner and door panels are also in excellent condition. The dashboard is in awesome shape and houses all of the original style gauges as well as an AM radio and clock.

Under the hood, you will see the massive, completely and professionally rebuilt 354 cubic inch Hemi engine, capable of producing up to 280 horsepower. The engine sits snug inside a beautifully detailed engine bay. Attached to the Hemi is a Push Button Automatic that was upgraded to a newer, late model transmission during the restoration with a floor shifter. The car boasts an all new exhaust system and braking system. As mentioned before, not a single expense was overlooked in the restoration of this handsome Chrysler!
It’s becoming increasingly difficult to find a New Yorker in this condition! This car would make an excellent Sunday driver or addition to any collection! The VIN is N5627139 and the mileage currently shows 91,183. It is being sold on a clean and clear Tennessee title. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!
