You are bidding on – as it appears - a 1973 Chevy Silverado K-30 4x4 Dually. This is a custom show truck that I built in 1991. As you can tell, it is painted as an American flag in Candy enamel paint with custom pearls, flakes and metallics throughout. Pictures don’t do the paint job justice. The paint is in excellent shape. No cracks. No damages. This is a rust-free body and never had any patch panels or body work. Absolute pristine metal. Since the truck has been restored it has never been in the rain or snow. It has been stored in a heated garage all of its life. It has been a parade truck for 20+ years and, like and old Chevy, just keeps on going. I can’t do parades with it any more and it needs to go on to its next life. This is an awesome truck. Buy it and drive it home.

Body: The ORIGINAL body was replaced in 1991 with a 1987 loaded (Power windows, power locks, AC, gauges) Silverado automatic cab and dually bed from a 12,000-mile texas truck. The cab and bed have absolutely no patch panels, body work or bondo. They are 100% all-metal, rust-free. A 3-inch body lift was added to the truck. Fenders are 1973-79 era and the cab was modified to accept the older-style front clip. It has a fiberglass cowl hood that works with the factory hinges. The bed also has a super-rare “Gatorback” fiberglass effect. These were made in the ‘70s and I’ve never seen another one. The body has a unique custom paint job which includes candy enamels with safety-white stars under the clearcoat. The blue is a candy blue over a silver metallic base. The white stripes are pure white paint with white pearl and rainbow flake. The red stripes are silver base with rainbow flake and red candy over top. The whole truck is clear coated. The body is in excellent condition. No dings, no dents. No chips. Paint is in excellent condition. The paint is absolutely amazing and has great depth. Since I never wet-sanded or buffed the paint it could be even more stunning if someone took the time do to so.

Drive Train The engine is a 1976 400 small-block Chevy. It has the original heads still. No machine work has been done to the heads or the block. In 1991, I rebuilt the motor with new pistons, bearings, rings, cam & lifters, double-roller timing chain, high-volume oil pump,  gaskets and an aluminum intake manifold. In 2001, I added HEI ignition, MSD, new alternator, new water pump, new fuel pump, and new radiator. In 2012 I replaced the old Holley 750 with a new Holley 750. The engine runs fine. No knocks. No smoke. The turbo 350 trans was rebuilt in 1991 with a shift kit. The transfer case was rebuilt also in 1991. A custom one-piece driveshaft was made for the truck. In 2000, I installed lockout hubs on the front axle. In 2012, new brakes were put on front and rear and I added brand new Kumho raised-white letter tires and they now have less than 2000 miles on them. The suspension is stock and original to the truck. Some steering components have been changed throughout the years. It steers and brakes well.

Interior The interior is original to the 87 Cab and is in excellent condition. All of the gauges and heater and blower work. Custom seat was installed and re-covered to match the interior. It has a full interior with carpeting and headliner. Both power windows work. Dash is in perfect condition, no cracks or warps. All of the glass is in great shape and the side-door glass has custom red window tint to match the stripes on the body.

Other items…

Although this is an air-conditioned cab, the air conditioning components on the engine and condenser are not there.

There is no computer operating anything.

I have all of the receipts for parts purchased throughout the years.

The restoration is 20+ years old. Although the exterior and interior are in great shape, the drivetrain and suspension have seen their age. A few maintenance items that need attention at some point in the near future include:

Needs a new header exhaust gasket.

The engine mounts are worn and should be replaced.

It does have some moans and squeaks but that’s expected on a 30+ year-old suspension. Although the suspension does function as-is, it needs new rubber bushings throughout.

Comes with clean Ohio title and two sets of keys

The truck is titled as an 1981 Chevy Silverado and the title matches the cab. It is not a salvage title!
