2010 Volvo S80, 3.2l V-6, 78,000 Miles, Very Nice - Super Clean on 2040-cars

This 2010 Volvo S80 is a Great Car!  77,800 miles and a lot of that on the highway. The 3.2L V-6 is smooth and powerful. It averages 25 MPG combined. (That is not a typo).  It is front wheel drive and very responsive. New Yokohama Avid Ascends were put on about 4 months ago and the alignment was tweaked as well just to ensure everything was perfect.  Also had a new battery installed by the local Volvo dealer.  Full Synthetic oil changed every 5-7000 miles.  Heated front and rear seats. Windows have factory tint. Bluetooth for hands free talking. I bought this car in TX 3 years ago from a dealer as it was a 1 year lease turn in with very low miles.  It has been a great car!  I just drive a lot for work and need to keep turning my vehicles over before they lose too much value.  If my daughter was 6 years older, she would be driving this car. Volvo consistently has one of the BEST SAFETY RATINGS in the industry.  The cabin is surrounded with airbags. The interior is fresh and I always used floor mats so it still looks nearly new.  The exterior is smooth and it has been garage kept.  There are normal nicks and dings for a car that has been on the road for 78,000 miles but nothing abnormal.  An unfriendly shopping cart hit the right front wheel well and rippled the edge a little but not enough to worry about.  A small ding in the windshield (lower left hand corner and out of view) was professionally sealed as well.  If you are looking for a flawless vehicle, then keep looking. This car is in Very Good+ to Excellent shape and runs like a top but it is not showroom condition and I won't pretend it is. I am rather picky myself and have represented this car the best I could. I recommend looking at it in person or having a third party inspection if you have not bought on-line before. The car is south of Nashville, TN and I will work with you if you need it shipped.  You will need to set up the shipping arrangements.  Please no lowball offers or other financing creativity.  Don't bid if you can't pay.  I won't waste your time if you don't waste mine.  I know what it's worth and how nice it is and have the title in hand for the first serious buyer.  It is sitting in the garage waiting for a new home so the miles will remain the same. ( I am driving its' replacement already).  Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Watch this video, then buy this 1993 Volvo wagon

Mon, 12 May 2014

Do you want to be perceived as rich and cuddly? Of course you do. Then you need to buy this car.
We know it makes no sense, but that pretty much sums up our take on the video you'll see below, in which a man by the name of Christoffer Castor, from Scania County in Southern Sweden, attempts to convince any and all who watch to buy his car. The car in question is a 1993 Volvo 240 wagon, in red with a black fabric interior.
We have quite a bit of respect for the old boxy Volvo wagons here at Autoblog, and, despite the presence of some unsightly rust on the tailgate, would gladly bum about in this particular 240. We especially appreciate the five-speed manual gearbox and that it's from the car's final year in production.

Volvo's plan for China: sell them on the clean air inside the car

Thu, 24 Oct 2013

Large Chinese cities aren't known for having clean air. Just this week, the Chinese city of Harbin filled with record levels of smog after starting the city's coal-fired heating system, according to CNN. But Li Shufu, the chairman of Geely, Volvo's parent company, says the automaker's astute attention to cabin comfort in areas such as air filtration is a selling point for the Swedish automaker in China, Forbes reports.
Shufu says when he is inside a Volvo, he feels like he's in Northern Europe, but when the door is opened, he feels like he's in Beijing. The chairman made the remarks at the fourth annual Global Auto Forum (GAF) in China (which also happened to be attended by Alan Mulally, CEO of Ford, which was Volvo's owner until 2010), where he emphasized Geely's hands-off approach to managing Volvo, saying, "Geely and Volvo are brothers, not father and son."
While good filtration contributes to cabin comfort, the way we see it, Shufu also is allowing Volvo to play to its most well-known strength: safety. Smog protection via air filtration might not seem like the most important safety feature for a car in the US (unless you live in Los Angeles), but when you consider that Harbin's level of fine particles was up to 30 times higher than the World Health Organization's recommended standard on Tuesday, we'd think twice about that. Fine particles, which are 2.5 micrometers in diameter or less, are considered to be the most harmful to health.

Volvo shows off 345-hp S60 and V60 Polestar

Thu, 06 Feb 2014

We showed you the hot, new Volvo V60 Polestar a few months back and raved about the fact that this long-roofed family car can hit 60 miles per hour in just 4.9 seconds. Now, we're seeing it and its four-doored brother, the S60 Polestar sedan, in person for the first time.
As we told you when the V60 Polestar was unveiled, both cars are motivated by a 3.0-liter, turbocharged six-cylinder that generates 345 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque, with peak twist arriving between 2,800 and 4,750. Power is channeled to a rear-biased all-wheel-drive system via a six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters and launch control.
Both Polestar models benefit from a suspension that features Öhlins shocks, while they ride on 20-inch "bespoke" wheels. Six-cylinder Brembo calipers clamp down on 14.6-inch rotors in front, meaning these Volvos should come to a stop as quickly as they get going.
